This is packed with solid information on retirement planning. If you are thinking about retiring and unsure how you want to proceed, this is worth at least reading the chapters that pertain to your situation. If you're already retired and settled with your residence and finances, you may not find much that is applicable to your situation.
There are many books on this topic, and this won't meet everyone's needs. It is a good intro and provides solid basic info on the topic, including lots of potentially helpful questions retirees need to ask themselves. A good addition to your retirement library.
Thanks very much for the ARC for review!!
Largely recycled, basic ideas on funding your retirement-the few fresh ideas make it worth the read.
I love it when a book introduces me to something new. I loved that the author wrote about social security, how to calculate it, and when to take it.
I always tell people that people make plans on how they feel today, not how they will be feeling in the future. The author covers this by talking about travel, downsizing, snow birds, adult active communities, etc.
The best part that I had not seen anywhere else is the notion of what do you do for transportation when you might have to give it up.
OVerall a great financial resource book for anyone close to retirement.
It was great to hear a financial advisor talk about age directly and how employment is affected.
