I love this author’s writing style! There wasn’t a time that I felt like the details “pulled” me out of the time period. I read a ton of regency romance novels and felt like the author did a great job with the storyline, character likeabilty, and time period orientation! Thanks so much for the advanced copy!

I love everything Sabrina Jeffries writes!
I’m a huge fan.
This is the final book in the series and it was great to see characters from the other books back too.
The characters are well written and fun to watch them fall in love … oh, and solve the mystery. LOL
More please!!
Thank to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved this book!! Sabrina Jeffries ended the series in a wonderful way. All of the Dowager Duchess children are finally safe, happy, together, and in love. In this story the central focus is on Sheridan Wolfe, the Duke of Armitage, and Vanessa Pryde. Watching these two fall in love was great, Vanessa knows who she wants and masterfully maneuvers Sheridan into admitting his feelings and falling in love. The chemistry between these two is scorching hot — these two definitely have passion in spades!!

I really enjoyed how the author brought characters from previous books into the following books. It’s more realistic especially when the characters are related. It was nice seeing how the Dowager Duchesses other children were doing in their lives and with their special someone.

In this book the mystery that has been a part of all the previous books finally comes to a conclusion—I have to admit I didn’t know who the villain was until it was revealed.

In order to read, understand, and fully appreciate this story you must read the previous books in the series. They are all amazing so you will enjoy them.

Overall rating 4 Stars ⭐️| 4 Flames 🔥| Series Rating 4.5 Stars ⭐️ — I do recommend.

Sabrina Jeffries has written a unique saga of a series that has mystery and romance all tied together. Undercover Duke is the fourth in that series and the one in which the murder mystery is solved. While I enjoyed revisiting all the characters from previous books and was excited for the match in this book, it fell a bit short for me.

Sheridan has put off marriage for a long time, in part to investigating the death of his father. Vanessa has secretly been infatuated with Sheridan. She aims to make him jealous by saying she is interested in someone else, and boy does it work. These two ended up "fake dating" with a somewhat forced marriage to follow.

I enjoyed the premise and finally getting to see Vanessa and Sheridan together. As I said, it was nice to visit with other characters from the previous books. However, unlike the previous books, the writing didn't sit quite as well with me. The interactions post-marriage between the main characters didn't flow for me and felt awkward. I just didn't feel the chemistry. While each of the books can certainly be read as a standalone, I feel that it would be best to read the others before this one. Even having done so, it can be confusing at times remembering all the extra characters and their relationships to one another. Overall, I would recommend this series as long as you start at the beginning.

This book was exactly what I needed! It was a fantastic ending to the Duke Dynasty series. Sheridan was a wonderful mix of serious and sexy. Vanessa was playful, kind, and determined to get what she wanted. Sheridan resisted Vanessa were deep in each others shenanigans from the very beginning and it was delightful. There was the will-they-won't-they pull and a good wrap up to the mystery that was trickled throughout the series.

This had the perfect mix of heat, mystery, and shenanigans. Highly recommend!

You know what? I was entertained.

Vanessa and Sheridan were sweet and oblivious enough to be appealing to me. There was a surprisingly low stakes mystery, in the sense that it kind of dips in and out of the plot, but I did enjoy the romance between Vanessa and Sheridan. I think that since I jumped into the series, I might've missed the deeper aspects of the plot, and I would've liked to see more discussion of the trauma and abuse that occurred to the characters. No third act breakup!!

Thanks to Kensington Books, the author and Netgalley for an Advance Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I found this book thoroughly entertaining as I do all of this author's work. In this instalment we finally find out who is responsible for the deaths of the Duke's fathers and why. A very satisfying end to this mystery is wrapped up in the romance between Sheridan and Vanessa. Despite being a bit uptight, Sheridan cannot help but be drawn to the vivacious Vanessa and she cannot help but love Sheridan (which she has done for some time).

The plot became a little over-complicated when Vanessa was employing her tactics to make Sheridan jealous but she was using someone else and telling him that she was trying to make THEM jealous and it all got a little silly. And also Sheridan's reason for not wanting to fall in love just didn't wring true. But the undeniable chemistry between the two of them saves the day and this is a wonderful conclusion to the quartet.

I was waiting for Sheridan to get his own story ever since I read about him in the first book of this series. This is the fourth book in the Duke Dynasty series and finally dives into the mystery that has been running through all the books. The mystery part of the books is really well written and I would recommend reading these books as part of a series rather than a standalone book. I loved Vanessa and Sheridan and really enjoyed their story.

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review*

I have loved the Undercover Duke series throughout all of the siblings finding their perfect matches and I’ll admit that although there may be a novella connection around Christmas, I am a bit bittersweet about this series coming to a conclusion. Yet it’s time for Sheridan to find love, even though he doesn’t believe he can or will ever love again after his wife’s death… stubborn man.

Undercover Duke will finally point out the murderer of the Dukes, and while many of us may have suspected this particular character I don’t believe I ever expected that “reason” to be behind the crimes. Still, on the way to this final discovery, we’re treated to Sheridan finally meeting his match in wit and cunning in the lovely Vanessa who has had her heart set on Sheridan for a very long time now. If she leads him on a bit with a tall tale of using him to make another unsuitable gentleman jealous, well, it certainly got his attention. Or did it, at first? Since Sheridan is determined to get some answers from Vanessa’s mother concerning that ongoing investigation the siblings have about the murders – why not use the daughter’s surprisingly devious plot to not only get answers but to lead a lovely lady away from a man who is truly not the best catch for her… if there is a bit of jealousy in Sheridan’s motives he’s not acknowledging it.

I enjoyed myself back in this world again. I adored Vanessa, for a woman of her time she certainly did her best to outthink Sheridan in the cunning department. I liked Sheridan, always have, yet he is so stubborn that there were times that he deserved either a sharp shaking or a stern talking to. They worked so well together that it was a joy to watch them work through everything else going on around them to their own happy ending. I cannot say I was surprised by the ending or the reveal of the murderer – but I was caught off guard on the reasons. I always love to see previous couples appear throughout a series and it was fun to see everyone back again for a quick catch-up on events in their lives.

In all, Undercover Duke is an emotional, sizzling, heartfelt romance that kept me flipping pages and at the same time, not wanting the story to come to an end. I had fun here, and that’s the entire point. If you love a very good Historical Romance then I would recommend the Duke Dynasty series. Because of the over-arcing storyline that runs through each story, I would strongly suggest reading this series in order if you possibly can.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This has been a superb series with wonderful characters and ends here with the unveiling of the person responsible for the murder of Lydia Fletcher's three husbands and her last husband's brother. This is not to be read as a stand alone, and the series should be read in order.

Do you ever read a number of books, one after the other, that are by different authors, even different genre, but by happenstance have a similar theme? This happened to me this weekend, when I first read WHEN A DUKE LOVES A GOVERNESS by Olivia Drake, just before this one. Both had a mysterious string of deaths, a forced marriage, though in both cases they ended up love matches and danger. But in the first, the butler actually did it. It is not the butler in this case.

The only of the siblings who is still single, and has no desire to every marry after the death of his fiancee in Prussia, Sheridan Wolfe, now Duke of Armitage is tasked by his family to interrogate Lady Eustace, his half brother, Grey's aunt. The problem is that they all loathe Eustace, but her daughter, Vanessa is something else. She is like a little sister to Grey and Sheridan finds her very attractive, but there is that pesky promise to himself never to fall in love. By a comedy of errors, word is out that Vanessa is in love with Junckers, a friend of Thorns, another of Sheridan's half brothers, who Thorn has paid to be his shill as the author of the plays that he writes. Sheridan wants to protect her from the rake, so offers to pretend to court her to make Junckers jealous or prove that he is just playing her. But Vanessa has actually been in love with Sheridan. Can she convince him that she is more than a little sister, but a lovable women? Will they find the murder before he kills again?

Although I received an ARC from NetGalley.com, I actually ended up reading a paper copy from the public library. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I really enjoyed Undercover Duke by Sabrina Jeffries. I found it to be an awesome regency era romance. The hidden sparks between Sheridan and Vanessa were amazing. I also enjoyed this entire series and this brought about a wonderful conclusion to the mystery of what happened to the Duchess's former spouses.

I highly recommend! Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for a fair and honest review!

Overall, I enjoyed Sebastian and Vanessa’s story. This appears to be the last of the Duke Dynasty series so, if you’ve read the previous books, you finally find out who the culprit it! If you have not read any of the previous books, this one was easy to pick up and understand what’s going on.
4 stars!!

Love love love!!!! This was everything I was hoping for the character dynamics, the storyline and everything in between. I enjoyed seeing the mystery of the many previous dukes deaths come together and solved. We got to see a side of Sheridan we haven’t seen before and I wished to have a few hundred more pages with this fun couple.

Undercover Duke by Sabrina Jeffries is the Forth book in the Duke Dynasty Series. This is the story of Sheridan Wolfe, Duke of Armitage and Vanessa Pryde. Sheridan is out to solve a mystery of some family deaths. This leads him to Vanessa and they end up pretending to court to solve the mystery. Vanessa has always had a crush on Sheridan but he has never really noticed her and she hopes this time together will bring out his feelings. Enjoyed this book.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. Undercover Duke by Sabrina Jeffries is the fourth book in her Duke Dynasty series. As there is an ongoing mystery running through the series, I think that you should read the books in order. Vanessa Pryde has been hiding her crush on Sheridan Wolfe, Duke of Armitage, by pretending to be in love with a roguish playwright. When Sheridan’s brother charges him with investigating Vanessa’s mother, he’s reluctant because he finds her too attractive for his sanity and spending time with her could only lead to disaster. A pretend engagement, an intriguing mystery and just the right amount of steam make this book one I enjoyed immensely. Steam Level: Medium. I loved this series, and this was a very good conclusion. I enjoyed Sheridan and Vanessa together. This was a slow growing love story, with a lot of obstacles in their way, but once they obstacles were gone these two had amazing passion.

Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? The conclusion of the Duke Dynasty series was a satisfying one to say the least. The mystery of who killed the Dowager Duchess of Armitage's three husbands is finally solved and her children have all found happiness.

Now that the series is at an end I can pick my favorite book, and it's definitely this one. I liked Vanessa from the very first time she appeared back in the first book. She was clever, caring, and confident. Sherridan was likable as well. He has a strong connection to his family, and it has influenced who he is as a character. He and Vanessa were an obvious choice for a couple, their chemistry was compatible and they both had a lot in common. I do feel that their romance took somewhat of a back seat to the mystery of who murdered Sherridan's father and step fathers.

Overall though, I enjoyed Undercover Duke. Mystery, romance, danger, angst, and healthy familial relationships made it a fun read. While you can read it as a standalone, I recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of each book.

Sheridan and Vanessa’s story is the fourth in the Duke Dynasty series. I’ve read one and two, which were also entertaining, and though it is not necessary to go back to read the third book in the series I will to get the full family picture. Jeffries heroines are never insipid, weak, or unable to make a decision. In most stories, it is the gentleman involved that needs to sort himself out.

Jeffries stories are highly entertaining because of the large families of colorful characters, witty dialogue exchanged, and unique plots and storylines to keep you engaged. Hands down one of my favorite authors! Everything she writes is a must read!

I love Sabrina Jeffries, however this wasn't my favorite series. I mean it started good, I liked Bea and Grey and I actually liked Sheridan in the first book, I liked Vanessa too, but in this book they let me down. Vanessa is a grown woman, 25 in my calculations or close too it, but she acted like a child! She played ridiculous games it was embarrassing and I lost respect and interest in her. Then we have Sheridan, huh he was so dull in compare to his brothers, which kind of surprised me, and the fact that he played this moronic game with Vanessa made me lose all sorts of respect for him, come on people you guys are adults... The only people that I liked was Sheridans mom, especially when she told off Vanessa's nasty mom, since it was long over due. and the previous cast.
