This was a short, sweet book about being yourself. It shows that everyone is unique and special. It would be a boring, or rather a shame if we were all the same.

It is a very colorful book, which points out that racial, physical and cultural diversity is beautiful and that we should treat everyone with respect.

The book is beautiful, with illustrations that captivate the young reader's eye and that can carry a beautiful message. It also contains two small activities.

In my opinion the book falls short, but perhaps for people who have children, the book can be very useful.

This is a basic book reinforcing that “All People Are Beautiful”. The book shares a good message through both words and illustrations.

Beautiful illustrations. This book is simple and pretty. I wish it was a few pages longer to celebrate a few more of our differences and why that makes people great. Still would be excellent to spark conversations with younger children. My first grader enjoyed it.

For a book about diversity, some of the stereotypical images of different cultures were deeply disturbing to me. I would not recommend this book to introduce diversity to children even though the words have the right sentiment.

As a former preschool teacher, mother of a Black daughter, and grandmother to two Asian/Caucasian grandchildren, I highly recommned this book for preschoolers. As a matter of fact to hope to buy a copy for my 3 year old, Chinese American grandaughter. With simple rhyming prose and delightful illustrations, the story empowers children to appreciate and love all the differnt types of people in their families and communities!
"My friends like different things but they are all very cool" is one such sentence in the book Even though people come from different nationalities and places, speak different languages and are of different races we learn from each other. All people are beautiful and have real value and worth and what matters is we treat each other right!
There couldn't be a simpler, more beautiful or important message to impart to young children.

This was a vibrant book that both my boys loved reading. It helps show that the diversity in the world is what makes it beautiful. While there are other books out that have been a little better at hitting the main topic.

The only thing that really bothered me was that there were stereotypical gender roles in the book. Now, I am by no means one that is on the liberal political side of things but I prefer to let my children choose what they would like to do rather than being told dolls are for girls and physical activities are for boys. My youngest has bought a stuffed pink bunny and rainbow unicorn and that will never be discouraged. I feel at this day in age, we are all trying to accept diversity yet we perpetuate gender roles in society, especially with children.

This book is very vibrant and colorful, but I just feel as though there are many similar books to this one that are executed a little more compellingly. This one does have value, as the message it delivers can’t be given too many times, it just isn’t my favorite of the type.

A gentle reminder to kids that difference is good. It is boring if all people are the same, so the difference makes it beautiful. From others we can learn something, but we have the same rules. Say "thank you", be polite, encourage each others and some other ground rules.

Some people are big, but some are smaller. But all is beautiful. At the end, the diversity makes life more interesting.

I think this book could be used as a mentor text to show how powerful repetition can be in a text. Many sentences start the same way, but it gives a rhythm to the book. The message is excellent and shows that while all people are different in different ways, they are all beautiful.

The illustrations are beautiful in this book, and really shows different ethnicities and looks. It’s a perfect book to teach children that everyone is beautiful, and you should have friends of all ethnicities!

The illustrations in this book are so vivid and beautiful! They are vibrant, flowing, and wild, and truly are the star of this book.

I love how the book showcased people of all races, ethnicities, religions, languages, interests, and especially body sizes in both the illustrations and the texts. I do wish the book had mentioned and represented disabled people in its quest to celebrate the beauty and diversity of all humans. I also think the book could have benefited from a mention of gender, even in its simplest form.

At the end of the book, the writer and illustrator have included an opportunity for the reader to design their own character and design their own flag, which I think is both a fun and engaging way to conclude the message of diversity and acceptance.

Thanks to Greater You Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Yes, just yes! Love the diversity of characters, of faiths, of backgrounds. This is a beautiful book that shares a beautiful message! Amen!

The book has a great message, but all of that is lost in the extremely poor formatting for the kindle. Some of the pictures (which I think were just the words on the page) were so blurry you couldn't even make out what was going on.

So if you decide to get this book, get it in paperback, not in ebook form.

This book really lives up to its name! The illustrations are beautiful, and inclusive. I love the details on each page.
The main message of the book is that all people are beautiful no matter what they look like. That we should treat everyone with respect despite our differences in language, and culture. The words are really straight forward and I like that it’s a story that can be read to kids of all ages.
At the end of the story, there are even two activities that you can do together as a family that encourage diversity and even rating differences!

“All People Are Beautiful” by Vincent Kelly - is an amazing book that promotes unity and acceptance. Every primary classroom should share this book. The illustrations are mesmerizing and the message is beautiful. Love it!

This book is a wonderful concept, but I do think it didn't quite hit the mark. The illustrations were vibrant and engaging, conveying the author's message of the diversity of beauty.

There was one section I did take issue with. On the meet my friends page (page 7), the author writes that 'Melanie likes playing with dolls', while all the boys are described as enjoying physical activities, like playing the drums and swimming in the pool. Why can't Melanie be swimming in the pool or riding a bike or playing the drums? I think if you want a book to be accessible to all children and celebrate our diversity, you need to ensure that you send a positive image. The author should have been mindful not to project false narratives on young children about what girls and boys can do.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley and the publishers.

All people are beautiful by Vincent Kelly is filled with a fantastic message and beautiful illstrations. When reading I instantly thought of a question to ask children, so for teachers there is a wonderful opportunity to create a conversation. For parents who may be explaining differences within their own family context as well. For children who may feel that they are different. A short read. At the end there are some cool activities to extend this message and support children's thoughts around this topic.

On Goodreads I gave this book 3.5 stars as I feel it has merit, but truly lacks the depth of a very important message. Illustrations are bright and beautiful and the author clearly hopes all people are celebrated for what makes our world wonderful. I just think there can be more to the how and why.
