This book is a wonderful concept, but I do think it didn't quite hit the mark. The illustrations were vibrant and engaging, conveying the author's message of the diversity of beauty.
There was one section I did take issue with. On the meet my friends page (page 7), the author writes that 'Melanie likes playing with dolls', while all the boys are described as enjoying physical activities, like playing the drums and swimming in the pool. Why can't Melanie be swimming in the pool or riding a bike or playing the drums? I think if you want a book to be accessible to all children and celebrate our diversity, you need to ensure that you send a positive image. The author should have been mindful not to project false narratives on young children about what girls and boys can do.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley and the publishers.
All people are beautiful by Vincent Kelly is filled with a fantastic message and beautiful illstrations. When reading I instantly thought of a question to ask children, so for teachers there is a wonderful opportunity to create a conversation. For parents who may be explaining differences within their own family context as well. For children who may feel that they are different. A short read. At the end there are some cool activities to extend this message and support children's thoughts around this topic.

On Goodreads I gave this book 3.5 stars as I feel it has merit, but truly lacks the depth of a very important message. Illustrations are bright and beautiful and the author clearly hopes all people are celebrated for what makes our world wonderful. I just think there can be more to the how and why.

All people are beautiful is a beautifully illustrated children's books about treating everyone with respect, love, kindness and inclusion no matter what race, gender, religion, skin tone, language or interests. This is such a current book for today and was really enjoyable to read. Such an important subject today too!
A book with beautiful illustrations full of great colors.
The book have a good message and show that in a simple way.
This book is a beautiful lesson that all of us, not just children should remember!
It is important for the future generation to learn that we are all different but that is what makes the world beautiful. Vincent Kelly captures the true meanin* of beauty when he penned this book.
Not only is it extremely well written it brings an aspect of fun with it as it offers 2 activities in the back to help educate and spark creativity in your child.
Mr. Kelly’s book is one that I will recommend to everyone to promote love, acceptance and multicultural education.
What a great lesson and what a fun way to learn! This boldly colorful book is perfect for young ones! Fun with a great lesson! Great illustrations!
He message here is very clear and straightforward. The pictures in this children’s book are wonderful. I think Vincent Kelly did a wonderful job with his message. However, the message would probably be more interesting if there was actually a story that portrays this message instead of just telling children to be good to everyone and how we need each other.
While I completely agree with this message itself and feel that it is a good. I think it is just not as interesting as it could have been. Children don’t typically like to be told what to do and this feels more in the line of a lecture than a children’s story.
I’d like to thank NetGalley and Greater You Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book is lovely! It celebrates different types of people in a subtle way that feels very natural. The illustrations are beautiful and captivating. My only gripe is that the book seemed too short. It would make a great addition to any early education classroom or personal library.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.
This delightful picture book is a fun and colorful celebration of friendship. It reminds us of how wonderfully unique we all are.
This book showed my 6 year old in a very easy to understand way how important and special it is for us to all be different. Also that it’s okay to like different things, or even look different. That we should love and accept not only ourselves but everyone around us.
Great illustrations. The text is a bit more simplistic and I was hoping to get more out of it. It lacked something special for me, something memorable. Nevertheless it would be a great positive book to buy for kids.
In simple words and well executed illustrations the theme is carried out that people of any color, nationality, or age is as beautiful as as any other. I want one for my local public library! And not just for the children's section!
I requested and received a free temporary ebook from Greater You Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
A really cute and sweet book about how all cultures, people, and languages are beautiful. A wonderful lesson for children of all ages. The illustrations were very chaotic, but I personally think that's perfect for a children's book! Attention-grabbing for sure! I can really appreciate the message behind the story, but I was left wanting a little bit more. Maybe a grander look at the world/cultures or more information. It felt short to me, even for a children's story. Overall though, I love the message and the activities at the end are an amazing touch, a great way to get kids more involved.
All People Are Beautiful is a very sweet children's book that teaches about diversity and encourages kindness. The illustrations are vibrant and adorable! The wording is a little awkward at times, but the messaging is beautiful. This will be wonderful book to teach young children about the diversity in the world.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
An adorable story that encourages readers to embrace differences between them. Each page is full of bright and colorful artwork, envisioning a positive world where all people can coexist peacefully.
A lovely, colorful book that celebrates individuality and acceptance of all people. This book perfectly expresses the heart of most young children, who unless are taught to hate, are simply pure and loving by nature. If only the world could be as good as our children are.
I appreciate any book sending the right message out into the world.
Thank you to Greater You Books and Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
The illustrations in this book are beautiful!! It tells a story that despite our differences we are all beautiful, unique and deserve respect. I loved how the illustrations teach the reader how to say “hello” in different languages as well as examples of actions you can do to help and respect others. I also loved the interactive activity at the end. I’ve never seen this before and my son was really excited to follow along. I highly recommend this book to children of all ages!!
I wanted to love this book. You can never have too many books with diversity, but this just wasn’t it. The “rhyming scheme” if you can call it that was confusing and made reading out loud sound staccato at best. The drawings also felt raw and unfinished. Just didn’t work.
A beautifully presented book with an important message about difference and acceptance. The activities at the end were a nice touch and bound to be appealing to kids.
