I read a sample consisting of the early chapters of this book. The world building was great and it was easy to keep track of the introductions to a number of characters. The plot reminds me of The Hunger Games, but we get to know each of the contestants well rather than rooting for one which ups the tension. It would be interesting to see where this goes.
the sampler was okay but I want to know more about it ! Probably the full arc, I loved the cast and it was quite likeable
Ok so, WOW!!! I'm so incredibly hyped for this book right now!!!!!!
The first two or three chapters confused me a bit but then I got used (really fast) to the setting and characters and the reading was so enjoyable. Specially Alistair's POVs.
I'm not a big fan of multiple POVs in books but it worked amazingly in AOUV and oh my god what was that cliffhanger????? I can't wait for the whole book to come out because I NEED more of these characters. I'm super curious about their stories and the tournament and what'll happen.
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!
THE LAST CHAPTER OF THE SAMPLER MADE ME SO SAD, POOR AL, I can't even imagine how his mind must be right now.
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for this ARC!
The sampler of All of Us Villains was enough to make me want to read the complete story when it's available this coming fall. Unique premise and the writing flowed well.

I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this book. I have only read a sampler once before and forgot how frustrating it is when it's so good!
This is a place, a town, where seven magical families compete to the death to be top magical family for the next 20 years. It happens on a special blood moon. The seven chosen, one from each family group, compete and only one will come out alive. There are curse makers in town that back ones they like. Reporters swoop in and get as much gossip as possible. Someone, no one knows who, wrote a book about the many working of the tournament. Big hit and everyone is reading it.
This sample I received gives the overall feeling of the town, major players in the town, then each family and the chosen one in each house. The back stories are very interesting and intriguing! There are a couple you want to cheer on but at the same time you know whoever is the winner is also a murderer. They will be killing the others you just got to know. Can they live with that? Some of these certainly could but some are not so cruel.
It's a very intriguing story and plot and it stops just short of the tournament itself! I can't wait to get the book and see what happens next! Ugh! This is such a tease!
I really wanted to read this book before, but now I HAVE TO.
This sampler has shown me how compelling and gripping this book is, and I cannot wait to see the rest. Obsessed!
I sincerely hope this will be Illumicrate’s November choice!
This sampler gives a taste of what Hunger Games might be if Tarantino had his hands on it. An intriguing premise, filled with darkness, rival families, and survival,

Wow! This book sample was so awesome. I was so involved with the plot, characters and the tournment, that I was at the end of the sample. I guess hyperventilating is what happens when you are reading an exciting book when the sample stops. I was left wanting more, hoping to get to end but Now I will wait to get the novel and continue reading. I am hoping that this will be a series. Thank you Netgallery for the copy. I gave the sample 4 stars because it was a sample and not a full novel.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and authors for the opportunity to read the sample excerpt and provide an honest review.
3.4 stars
I really liked the idea behind the story and am a huge Hunger Games fan! I also ALWAYS love a morally grey character and again just really liked the concept / plot of the book. Unfortunately I had trouble getting into the writing style and found some parts around the magic confusing and info dumpy. Overall by the end of the excerpt I was getting into the story and would have liked to read more!
I knew better then to read a sampler, because I always want more immediately. LOL. If this sampler is any indication as to the rest of this book then I will be first in line on release day to get it. I LOVED the vibe of the story, the world building, the characters... GAH!!! I need more. Dark and violent and full of secrets, intrigue and so much more, this is sure to be an awesome read!
Thank you for providing me with this sampler.
I can’t say how the entire book is but wow this book hooked me right from the start. I love the premise of a very dark Hunger Games meets Inheritance Games type book. The plot is so interesting about the 7 magical families competing in a tournament to the death. I really like Alistair and Hendry’s personalities. I love cunning and dark personality of Alistair. I can’t wait to read the rest of this book when it comes.
I received this book as an ARC and here is my review. All of Us Villains is centered around a Tournament designed to determine the ultimate bad person standing. There are some light-hearted moments when plans are developed to win the prize. There are disappointing moments when the favored villain is eliminated. I enjoyed this unique story with insight into the extremes some will go to win at all cost! Totally recommend this if you appreciate humor wrapped in a fantasy.
I didn't finish this sampler. I didn't like the writing style and I couldn't really get into the story. That being said, with the magick and the plot, I think this is one of those books that has a high possibility of becoming insanely popular.
I am enthralled with the start of this book and will definitely be preordering! What a cool premise, this urban fantasy world where magic is a commodity and these seven families know they will hold a fight to the death to cling to power. I'm already certain at least one of the POVs we get to follow will die gruesomely but I'm so ready for it!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read the sampler in exchange for an honest review.
The world AOUV is set in certainly seems interesting, and the magic system seems pretty interesting too.
This book certainly has an interesting premise, however, I'm not entirely sure if this sampler has gripped me enough to read the full book.
Immediately need to know so much more about this book & CANNOT WAIT to read it when it's released! I didn't read "The Hunger Games" back in the day, but my goodness this feels like that series mixed with "Harry Potter" & "The Sister's Grimm" in all of the best ways. If you like those series, don't hesitate to add this to your TBR list—it's a must-read!
There's an interesting cast of characters here, and an interesting premise. Neither feel particularly novel, but both were still engaging and seem as though they premise a fun, easy read...

Each of the seven families must change a champion to represent their line at the Tournament. With the arrival of the Blood Moon, the Blood Veil falls, and the games begin. The champions must fight to the death until only one remains.
The authors did an amazing job writing this story. The characters are well developed, and the story moves quickly. I thought this book was a combination of the Hunger Games meets Harry Potter. This was a sample book and ended at a critical point in the story. I cannot wait until November for the book to be released.
If you enjoy multiple POV book , battle to the death and magic then " All of Us Villians" is the book for you. Also, the cover is gives off creepy/sinsiter vibe= Perfection.
For transparancy, I was only provided with sampler of the book00 96 pages to be exact-- so my review is based off 96 pages.
Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman do a great job in building the stakes early in the book and leave just enough bread crumbs for you to want to find out more.
You meet charatcers--Alistair, Briony, Gavin, and Isobel. From their POV and instantly see there is strife & ambitions to be break cycles-- Love!
The world building is decent and gives off the European Gothic atmosphere.
I look forward to reading the remainder of the book one-- with NetGalley blessings
The sampler snippet was soooo good! I'm super excited for this book release, it gave me major "A Deadly Education Vibes" which was a really fantastic book and I think this book will be just as amazing, if not better.
Quick summary: There are seven families who are cursed, but they're some of the only people with access to High Magic left. That's why every 20 years there's a tournament, and every family with offer one Champion who will fight the other six Champion's. Whoever wins gets a store of blood-red high magic for their families use during the next 20 years. Each family will do whatever it takes (and I literally mean whatever it takes) to win. This year is different because an anonymous author has released a book about the history of the tournament, and now Ilvernath is swarmed with paparazzi, government agents, and enthusiastic fans, which will throw all of the characters for a loop. Each Champion has a certain set of strengths and skills which will set them up as challenging competitors. There's definitely a lot of dark-academic aesthetic which is super compelling. For lovers of fantasy, and those who have a soft side for "morally corrupt" villain-type characters this is definitely for you! I know that this book was compared to "The Hunger Games" and that's a good comparison title, but instead of the some of the Champions begin reluctant to fight other children, these characters are definitely all from district one or two. They're eager and proud to be apart of the tournament for their families magic.
