A great read. Camilla and Filip have chemistry that singes the pages with sensuality and intensity.
Add in some suspense and you’ve got a captivating story. I enjoyed the intrigue!
I wanted to enjoy this more than I did, I loved the idea of the book but I wanted more of Camilla's reasoning and better discovery, it all felt too quick moving to me. I wanted exploration more before it all happened. Basically I wanted a lot that the book didn’t deliver. The twist at the end improved things but not enough for me.

This is the fifth book in the "The Fives Families" series. Camilla Genovese feels like she doesn't fit in her family. She is brave, daring, and she’s not afraid to experience. In order to explore her sexuality she enters a BDSM club, but she does not expect to meet Filip De Lucca who is the brother of Matteo, her cousin Maria's husband and a dangerous man. The chemistry between them is quite intense and once he discovers her at the club he begins to be very possessive with her. Camilla is not looking for a relationship, just a physical connection without involving feelings. Filip initially agrees. Both share many intense moments and even, he cares a lot for her and eventually he falls in love with her. Filip must strive to gain her trust and convince her that they share is more than sexual chemistry.
Although she shows a strong character, deep down she is fragile. She have an emotional trauma that she have kept in secret and that have an impact on the way she acts about her feelings. Filip listens to her, understands her and tries to help her to overcome those episodes so she can finally accept her feelings without guilt or regrets. I must add that Jill Ramsower has such a talent for mixing romance, mob, and suspense in a way that you can't tear yourself off the pages until the book is finished.
Absolute Silence is the 5th book in the Five Families series. This is Filip and Camilla's story and it was a hott steamy tale with action, violence and some unexpected twists included. The chemistry between them is sizzling and their steamy scenes were explosive. These two characters both were flawed individuals with baggage from childhood which they need to overcome. Apart from the romance, there is a suspense element that will have you captivated and at the edge of your seat frantically turning the pages to find out more. I enjoyed this story, it was a great addition to this series and I would highly recommend it to lovers of mafia romance.
Unfortunately, this book missed the mark for me.
I think that it tried to do too much, but fell flat. In the immortal words from Parks and Rec - "Don't half ass two things, whole ass one thing."
There's very little depth on the mafia aspect, it's a somewhat BDSM relationship (just like 50 shades, don't get too excited) with sex that is lukewarm at best. But that's what you get with two undeveloped characters who have no chemistry.

Plot Summary :
Camilla is on a mission. She enters a club and there are things she needs to know and experience. What she didn't expect was to run into Mateo's brother Filip. He is crazy hot and demands that she stays with him throughout this experience.
What starts as a platonic relationship turns into something more and before they both know they are far bigger enemies to encounter. With the whole family at their side, that might not be that tough. However one thing which might not survive the fallout would be their Hearts since that was the one thing they didn't want to risk and yet ended up doing so exactly!
Overall Opinion :
I am so freaking obsessed with this series!! This is another installment of this series and it was as amazing as the previous parts. This author never fails to hook me in her books and before I know, I am pulling an all nighter and staying up all night to finish this on sitting!
Camilla and Filip have one hell of a tale and I am completely obsessed with this family. All the characters are pretty good. The storyline of this book was amazing and The suspense element kept me hooked! A must read for all the mafia romance lovers out there!
Absolute Silence is my first book by Jill Ramsower and wasn't exactly what I was expecting. From the description, I had expected it to be a BDSM club novel, but it turned out to be half that, and half a mafia romance, which took me by surprise a little. I really did enjoy the characters, Filip's protectiveness and dominance of Camilla was exciting and Ramsower's writing style was engaging and easy to read.
It would possibly have been better if I had read the previous novels in the series, as I then may have had a better understanding of the characters and the world we were in. I just felt I would have enjoyed the book even more if it had been more BDSM or more Mafia, but not necessarily trying to be both.
I have always loved books that feature BDSM and this one touched on it without disappointing! This is different than all the other books in this series, and I think I like it the most because it is risqué. Camilla has her story to tell, and boy does she tell it. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would!
This was a great story. I loved Camille and Filip. I did not expect the Villian to be who it was, nor to actual be torn over how it ended. Twice....I have not read the other books in the series and this did not make you feel like you had to but made you curious enough to want to.....who is kade? What will the brother be like?.....next please,
I really liked the story and the characters, I couldn't put it down, so I had to read it in one sitting.
Camilla had seared herself into my being, branded herself in my thoughts, and planted roots deep inside my soul.

I was not expecting this story from that book with those feelings. Man o’ man was that some hot and delicious reading. My girl getting dirtier and dirtier in her writing and momma likey.
While we are not done with the cartel, and things only seem to be getting worse where the families are concerned, other players come out and play an even bigger role in this story. So much goes down and it’s intense. And it’s hot. So very hot.
I wasn’t sure how I would like this book with how it begins, because it took me a little out of my comfort zone. But Ramsower does an impeccable job keeping it sultry, yet classy. And in the end, the story was fantastic and I absolutely loved it.
Getting a little sad this series is coming to an end, but excited for what else Ramsower publishes when it’s done. 5 Stars!
4 STARS for Absolute Silence by Jill Ramsower

This is the fifth book in this series by this author but can be read as a stand alone read. This is a fantastic addition to this series by this author. This is the story of Camilla and Filip. These two characters have amazing chemistry between them from the start. This story is filled with action, violence and twists and turns. This book will hook you from the first page, keeping you reading long into the night. I was on the edge of my seat while reading this book. This is the perfect instant love mafia romance read from this author.

This is the fifth book in The Five Families Series, an amazing Dark Mafia Romance Series. This is a series of interconnected stories, and intertwined characters. You can read this book as a standalone. Filip and Camilla are hot together. They meet at The Lion’s Den club, a BDSM club. Filip (Matteo's brother from Blood Always) is intense, dominant, powerful, and commanding. Camillia (Giada's sister from Impossible Odds) is lovely, strong, and independent. The story has passion, danger, and some interesting and unpredictable twists and turns. The supporting characters are interesting. I highly recommend this book, and this Series.
3 1/2 Stars for this mafia romance
Camilla goes to the Lion's Den to explore the BDSM lifestyle. She never thought she'd come face to face with someone from her father's world ... Filip. When Filip sees the young and wholesome Camilla at the club he frequents, his protective side comes out because he can't let any of the deviants at the club get a hold of her. When Camila and Filip realize they have a lot in common, they start a relationship outside of the club.
This is a VERY steamy book! The heat between Camilla and Filip was coming off the pages. But I just couldn't connect with Camilla or Filip. Camilla seemed to have a lot of life experiences for only 21 years old. I don't know how old Filip was, but I presumed he was in his mid 20s ... and he was already going to be a boss in the mob. I know it's fiction, but it would have been more believable if they would have both been older ...this is just my opinion.

Camilla and Filip’s story was the very best kind of ride! This one has plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing and for me it had the perfect amount of kink exploration - what I mean is that I knew I was reading a sex club book but there was more to the story than just that. And the chemistry - well that was just sinfully delicious!
This was my first read from this author and I loved it!
Fabulous story!
Camille is searching for something that she has yet to find: a sexual experience that doesn’t leave her wanting. She’s been unable to be satisfied with vanilla, so she’s searching for more. Camilla hopes to find that at the Lion’s Den, a super secret sex club in New York. What she doesn’t expect is to see someone she knows there, Filip.
Filip De Luca is the brother of Camille’s cousin’s husband. Hot. Powerful. Controlling. He’s a man that is tired of being his brother’s sidekick. Wants to be a made man. He works hard and likes to play hard and the last person he expected to see at the Lion’s Den was Camille.
I really love this story - it has it all! Awesome heroine and hero, great story that grips to the end, and HOT chemistry and smexy times. I love Filip. He was well written with real depth that is sometimes lacking in the stronger alpha heroes. He is someone who thought if he kept himself “separate” and didn’t get his emotions involved, that he would be better. A better man. A better brother. He really struggles with his emotional pull for Camille and we can easily visualize the changes in him as he comes to accept what she means to him. And how better may not be “separate” but rather the ability to bend - especially for someone you care about. Camille was a fabulous heroine. Strong. Takes charge of her sexuality and is self aware enough to know the things she needs, for herself, to be happy. The development and push and pull to their relationship was wonderful to read - especially with how strong both of their characters were. As always, Jill writes another fabulous read. I can’t wait for the next installment of the series!

Jill Ramsower has hit it out of the PARK with this one! Is this even the same series?! This one is HOTTER! Filip and Camilla are dynamite together. My phone melted when reading these two.
Camilla comes to The Lion’s Den seeking sexual adventure where she runs into Filip, known through the Five Family life. He opts to take her for himself, in initial fear that her family will kill him if he turns a blind eye to her participation there. Deal being, she can come to the Den but only if he’s there. It doesn’t stay innocent for long, and feelings to get involved.
I think the best part of this plot is the Dante storyline. From the get-go I was so intrigued. He was mysterious, and I knew something was there. I didn’t think it would end as insane as it did, but he played such an interesting, disturbing role in the end. It’s a great addition to the plot.
If I had to pick one thing I didn’t like about this book, it’s that this is less mafia-focused. Both characters exist in the world. Filip has some place in it, but it’s mostly a backdrop for this book while it’s the main feature in the others.
I can’t believe only one more book!
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for my honest review.
This book for me was a three star, I loved the idea of the book but I wish there was more of Camilla's why and exploration of the club. It was like bam she is here, bam here is Filip a guy from the "family", bam we are in the club together and only with each other. I think it would have been better for her to have explored a little more before it all happened. The twist with Dante saved this book for me, and if you are looking for a dark mafia book this might be up your alley.
I’m over the moon that there’s a mafia girl wanting to explore herself sexually. Camilla and Filip are explosive! Although the first 1/4 of the book I highly disliked Filip, but he grew on me and by the end of the book, loved him! A definite must read
