I’ll admit, this book wasn’t as twisty and shocking as some thrillers can be. I had a pretty solid idea of what was happening before the reveals, however everything was tied up nicely. The big reveals were set up well and felt realistic, which I liked.
My only complaint is that there was no trigger warning for sexual assault. There are some pretty graphic descriptions that go beyond what I personally was comfortable with and I could see it being a problem for some readers.
A stunning debut that has me pumped for her next book, I loved all the twists and turns. The slow burn.
I don’t think I expected it to be told the way it was, but I love multiple POV books, so this 100% worked for me.
I love not knowing who to trust.
This was genius and I cannot wait for the world to experience its glory.
I love this book! It was such a page turner! It was a fun thriller filled with lots of twists and turns. It's told from 3 different perspectives which I enjoyed. I loved to watch the story unfold the more that I read. There was never a dull moment!
A fun thriller with lots of twists! I enjoyed the different perspectives of the characters. It is a slow burn but still a page turner.
This “twisty” thriller was hard to put down and a strong debut by Katherine Faulkner. I was sucked in from the very first chapter, and the lingering suspicion at several different points in the story kept me turning the pages.
Helen has a picture perfect life from the outside, and she’s due with her first baby quite soon. To prep for the new baby, she begins attending prenatal classes, and that’s where she meets Rachel, a single first time mother-to-be. Though they have nothing in common, repeat “run ins” and coincidental meetings continue to bring the two women together.
We quickly learn there’s something squirrelly going on with Rachel, and her erratic behavior sets off a chain of events that quickly spiral out of hand for Helen and her family.
The story is told from three women’s perspectives, Helen’s, Serena’s (Helen’s brother’s wife), and Katie’s (Helen’s other brother’s girlfriend), and the storytelling is quite addictive. However, it should be noted there is some very triggering content, so I advise you to proceed with caution.
My only complaint: parts of the story, especially toward the end, felt a little too out of left field, so portions of the twist fell a little short for me, but overall still a really good, fun read, and I look forward to more books from Faulkner!

Helen is an expectant mother who makes a new friend whether she wants to or not. She met Rachel in a birthing class and after that Rachel seems to turn up everywhere Helen is. As Rachel inserts herself more and more into Helen’s life, things start to spiral out of control.
A good conspiracy read. Would highly recommend.
Helen is an expectant mother who makes a new friend - whether she wants to or no - at a series of birthing classes. Rachel, the friend in question, inserts herself into Helen's life in every way possible - coincidentally being where Helen and friend are to have lunch, showing up at her door on more than one occasion, dragging Helen for drinks after class. She is not unlike a bit of gum residue stuck on one's shoe. Helen has a distracted and somewhat detached husband and a group of friends who have remained close since their college days at Cambridge. Rachel becomes more integrated with this circle of friends and she soon threatens to reveal a connection to a crime from their college days which would destroy them all.
In Greenwich Park I find that that Katherine Faulkner has the bones of a very good twisted story, The only problem I had is that I could not relate to and did not care about any of the characters. If I had, I would have rated this higher. I do look forward to reading more of Faulkner's work in the future. Her writing and structure is very good even if I personally did not connect with this particular cast.
My thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is about 3 siblings and their significant others. It is told in three different POV's. I happen to like different POV's, so it worked well for me. A terrific story of deception, betrayal and jealousy. I loved every word of it. Some great twists and a fantastic satisfying ending!
This book is hard to put down! Written from the perspective of three women, this mystery/thriller has you on the edge of your seat and constantly guessing as to what the ending is going to be. As things unfolded, I found myself getting suspicious of almost every character and wondering how they were involved in past and present incidents. And the end - it had me gobsmacked. This book was a great read!
This psychological thriller had me hooked from the beginning. The naiveté of Helen kept the reader wondering when she was just going to wake up to what was going on around her.
The author gave you just enough information to make you mentally travel in one direction but then the situation would change and the reader headed down another path with new analogies.
Helen has a past history with the other characters which is an integral part of the final outcome of the story which was one that I did not expect.
Would certainly recommend this.
Helen may live in the exclusive Greenwich Park neighborhood of London, but that doesn't mean her life is perfect. When her sister-in-law Serena bails on the birthing classes they signed up for, she finds herself paired with the mysterious Rachel. As they become close friends, Helen realizes that it may be more than a coincidence that they met in class...and Rachel may know secrets from her family's past.
Wow - Faulkner knows how to jack up the tension over time. This book made me anxious as I turned the pages eager to figure out more about the mysterious Rachel. I did figure out some of it - but there were plenty of twists and red herrings to keep me guessing. Helen's naïveté made her a great protagonist, and her siblings and their partners filled out the story well. This is a slow burn domestic thriller with an explosive conclusion, and I'm betting lots of readers will love it.

A twisty, fun thriller that was giving me Tana French's The Witch Elm vibes! I really liked the nuanced look at motherhood and all the many pressures on expectant mothers. It was hard to put down!
I read a lot of psychological and thriller fiction and most of the time, I’m able to figure out the villain’s identity long before the end of the book. Not so with Greenwich Park. While I had several suspects, the author wove a tangle of events that kept me wondering.
Helen lives a life many people would envy—a lovely Victorian home, a husband with a great career, and her first baby on the way. But all is not well in paradise. When Helen arrives at her first prenatal class, she’s disappointed that her husband won’t be able to make it. Neither will her sister-in-law and brother, who had agreed to attend the same classes.
So, she finds herself alone. In comes Rachel, a single mother-to-be with an outgoing personality and an unconventional way of looking at pregnancy. The two strike up a friendship and soon Helen begins to see Rachel everywhere—when she’s at lunch with her friend Katie, in a local pub, in the park.
Then Rachel shows up on Helen’s doorstep, saying she’s in trouble, and begging to stay the night. One night turns into two weeks and there’s no indication Rachel intends to leave. Helen suspects she is stealing from them and later asks her to leave.
But when Rachel turns up missing, the police begin asking questions. What did happen to her and who is responsible?
This book is a slow-burner. I admit after the first two chapters, I wondered if I’d like it. But once I moved on, I became engrossed and found it to be an extremely satisfying read. Greenwich Park is Katherine Faulkner’s debut novel, but I can see her becoming quite a successful author.

Nestled in the heart of Greenwich Park lives expectant mother Helen. At her very first prenatal class in the community neither Helen's husband, Daniel, nor her brother Rory and his wife Serena, who are also expecting, just weeks after Helen, show up. Then, she meets Rachel. Rachel, who keeps seeming to somehow show up wherever Helen happens to be. Is this mere coincidence or is Rachel up to something? Helen is ready to ask Rachel to leave her be until the day she shows up on her doorstep, having just been attacked and absolutely terrified. And then Rachel goes missing. Is Rachel really who she said she was? Is there more to Helen's family's secrets than she already knows? What happened during the time she can't quite seem to remember? Is there more to her husband?
Greenwich Park was a nail biter for me! The storyline brought up so many questions that I absolutely needed answered. Author Katherine Faulkner has done an excellent job building the characters, their relationships with each other, and how some memories might not actually be what they thought they were.
I look forward to more from this author!
TW: sexual assault, miscarriage, domestic abuse
This debut novel was a good, fast moving psychological thriller. Like the best of the genre every time I thought I had it all figured out there was a new twist. The book starts with a letter written by a prison inmate so you know someone is not going to make it out alive. Is it one of two siblings Helen and Rory, and their partners, all former roommates at Cambridge? Another sibling and his journalist girlfriend or, finally, a newcomer to the group who meets Helen at a class for expectant mothers? Luckily for me this was not a book where all of the characters were unlikable even though Helen seemed pretty naive. I am already looking forward to the next book from Katherine Faulkner.
This was a very well-written book. It had me guessing till the very end! I need more! The story follows 3 siblings. Helen, Rory, and Charlie. Helen and Rory are married to Daniel and Serena respectively. Helen and Serena are both pregnant. At a prenatal class, Helen meets Rachel a young pregnant girl who is unapologetic. She drinks and smokes and Helen can't help but want to help her. But Rachel has secrets and Helen needs to find out what they are. In the process, she finds out that Rachel is not the only one with secrets.
Thank you #Netgalley for the opportunity to read Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner. I look forward to reading more from Katherin Faulkner.
Greenwich Park is a debut thriller I was not ready for. This twisty, domestic, psychological thriller blew me away. Katherine Faulkner is one to watch!
The story follows a pregnant Helen who befriends a woman she meets at a prenatal class, Rachel. With her close friends and family (her husband and her brother and his expecting wife) being an unreliable support system, she finds herself becoming closer to Rachel. This friendship sparks the beginning of unusual behavior, buried secrets, and life-altering lies.
Greenwich Park is told through many alternating perspectives focusing mainly on Helen’s perspective. The plot is a little slow to start but makes up for it in the character development, unreliable narrators and unexpected twists. Katherine Faulkner gives us a story of life-long secrets, deceit, and betrayal and meticulously and expertly unravels it. I recommend Greenwich Park for those those who love domestic, psychological thrillers and fans of The Girl on the Train and author Ruth Ware.
Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was realllly good and sooooo addicting. I read it in like 2 sittings (but I was also sick while reading this, so I had nothing else to do). But the buildup and pacing to this was sooo good. It was really atmospheric and pulls you into the story. I really enjoyed Faulkner's writings style as well. However, my main issue is the ending of the story. I didn't really like the conclusion and how things shaped out.
I LOVE an unreliable narrator. Give me ALL the books that have an air of mystery and a dash of crazy. Greenwich Park is great if you love not knowing who to trust. The story is told mainly through the voices of 3 friends- and a new friend that they meet. But there's something strange about this new friend. And they all get to know her for very different reasons. You've got friends since college, a mystery new friend, and all sorts of strange things happening. I never could decide who I believed- until the end of course! I will say that this book got a little hard to follow if I left it for too long, because the storylines started to bleed together in my mind. So, it's best read in large chunks. Which, let's be honest- is my favorite way to devour a book anyway. This book kept me guessing and questioning the characters the entire time. It kept me hooked. And no spoilers- the last sentence of this read was very satisfying!
This was a different type of thriller for me in a way- but I liked it. I'll definitely read whatever Katherine Faulkner comes up with next!
Review of eBook
After four heartbreaking miscarriages, Helen Thorpe’s pregnancy is progressing as it should and, in just a few short months, she and her husband, Daniel, will finally become parents. Adding to their happiness, Helen’s brother, Rory, and his wife, Serena, are also expecting, their child due to be born just a few weeks after the Thorpe baby.
When Helen meets single mother-to-be Rachel at a prenatal class, the two women strike up a fragile friendship. To Helen’s dismay, Rachel is not particularly maternal; however, her friendship fills a lonely void in Helen’s life. Rachel makes her laugh and serves as a distraction from Helen’s ever-present worries.
But there’s something disconcerting about the young woman; it’s not long before other people begin to notice. And, although Helen is oblivious, Rachel’s connection to her family may lead them to a tragedy that could destroy them all.
Told from three points of view . . . expectant mother Helen, Helen’s sister-in-law, Serena, and Helen’s journalist friend, Katie . . . the unfolding story begins with a cryptic letter sent to Helen from someone in prison, then backtracks to follow the last stages of Helen’s pregnancy. A couple of chapters look further into the past, providing the necessary backstory for the narrative; the ending is the conclusion of the stupendous letter that opened the narrative.
Filled with unforeseen revelations, surprising plot twists, and a stunning, unexpected ending they simply won’t see coming, readers will find it difficult to set this captivating narrative aside. An underlying sense of dread keeps the suspense building and the pages turning toward the electrifying denouement.
With believable characters [although Helen’s naiveté is, at times, enough for readers to commence serious eye-rolling] and a cleverly tangled plot that ultimately questions whether or not the mistakes of the past can be corrected, readers will find much to appreciate in this story of family, secrets, and lies.
Highly recommended.
