I wanted to like this but overall I felt this pushed way too many trope we've seen before.

If you're a fan of Twilight but were always team Jacob, this will suit you perfectly. I however found it to just not fit my interest or pallet.

I really enjoyed this story about teenage Werewolves even though its been quite a while since I was a teenager. Essentially we have Witches and Shifters and for centuries the Werewolves were protectors of the Witches and pretty much treated as inferior beasts. Freddie wants to change that and together with Rain she's ready to stand up for equality and banish the enslavement of her kind . Change might be inevitable but many still fear it and actively fight it !
This story was well written and well thought out. I enjoyed the romance aspect and at times it was so sad but Rain was truly the star of this book. He might still be new to this world and its politics but he is brave, loyal and very focused. Freddie is in a difficult position as she's about to become the official Alpha so in many ways her hands were tied although I wanted her to just rally her Pack and tell the vile tribunal to just stick it ! However the author isn't as violent as me clearly because her plot wound up all the loose ends effectively and with little bloodshed. A very good mixture of suspense, angst, romance and magic. Yes I recommend this book to readers of all ages.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
