Thank You to NetGalley and Karen Cole/Quercus for giving me the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

This is a first Karen Cole for me so I wasn't 100% how I was going to jive with the author's writing style. The narrative speaks in first person, present tense which at first I was unsure of (usually isn't my cup of tea) but I like to keep going for a bit to make sure I didn't miss on a good thing. And I can honestly say, I'm glad I didn't. While the book starts of a bit slow - i.e. getting to know characters, learning of Cat and her weight issues (which at the time was brought up a little too much in the beginning but thankfully died down the further the story went) became like an addiction and I ended up reading more pages than I was used to so fast. At one point, I didn't remember getting from chapter 8 to suddenly chapter 21. It flies by and you ARE at the seat of your pants.

I love the interaction between each "suspect" and how Cat has to be careful about who or what she does or says. The ending though - Oof. That, I was not expecting in the slightest. The state of Cat or that little last reveal. Overall, I will most definitely be reading more of Karen Cole in the future.

So thank you again for the opportunity!

This was an enjoyable read and kept me gripped up to the last page. Told in two timelines past and present you discover the secrets of the past can impact the present and possibly even the future.

Cat has secrets, Secrets she hoped would stay hidden. Police arrive and leave , and so the chase begins. A run to protect her son and her life.

Destroy Me is a good read. For once, we don’t have a perfect protagonist and I’m all for that. Cat is a recently separated mother if a young son, living a relatively quiet life until her likeness is broadcast on the nightly news as a suspect in a murder. We learn that someone in Cat’s life now is intent on framing her. To destroy her. The plot moves quickly and our feelings towards each character changes as they go from ordinary to suspect. Why and whom? I liked that Cat went headfirst into discovering the ‘whys’ and the ending was satisfying and quite surprising.

Cat and her 5 year old son are rebuilding their lives after her husband leaves her for a younger woman. One night, Cat’s son sees her picture on the evening news, to Cat’s horror, an old friend has been murdered and the police are looking for someone matching Cat’s description. Cat has an alibi, but her alibi is lying. Why?
This book is full of twists and turns and I had to keep reading to see what happened next. Great read!

I enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. It was an excellent premise and I liked the twist at the end. The characters were well crafted but I did not like many of them. There were some aspects of the book that seemed a bit far fetched such as the attitude of the school and the way Cat managed to get into the homes of people involved in the murder,.but they did not detract too much.
I would recommend this book and will look out for other Karen Cole books.
Thank you Netgalley and Quercus for giving me the opportunity to give my unbiased opinion.

This is one which will keep you guessing. I pride myself on solving the mystery as the book goes but this one stumped me. I liked the character Cat, for all her faults. And to think of finding herself in such a situation - makes you realise anything is possible, even as you go about your ordinary life. I am excited to see Karen Cole has written other books - if they are anything like this, I will want to read them all.

Another brilliant thriller by Karen Cole. Amazing, twisty and totally suspenseful. I loved the characters and literally felt like I couldn't put it down at night.

On the edge of my seat. I kept guessing the whole time.

Clever, an easy way to pass the day. I’d recommend to anyone who wants an authentic, entertaining book to read for any occasion.

This was an excellent suspense thriller that I was hooked on from the very start. I was completely gripped by the storyline and had absolutely no idea who the perpetrator was until they were finally revealed. I highly recommend this book for fans of psychological/suspense thriller.

I was given this book as an ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest review.

When Cat sees a drawing of a suspected murderer on tv which looks exactly like her and the victim is someone she once knew, she has to scramble to prove her innocence but what secrets may come out in the process?

I found this book really hard to get into, Cat wasn’t particularly likeable or engaging as a character and it all felt a little bit rushed in terms of the story. I found the ending good, it wasn’t something that I had thought of but it just came too soon for me.

I couldn’t put this book down. What would you do if you saw your face on the news as the suspect in a murder inquiry and to make things worse the victim is someone you knew. A real page turner of a thriller which keeps you guessing until the end.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good book overall. It started off well but then dragged a little in the middle. It was worth sticking with as the ending was quite good. Their are lots of twists- all good but there is one that may be slightly controversial.

HOLY COW I breezed through this book in 2 days! It would have been less than that, but a little thing called work and life got in the way.
This book hooked me from the beginning! One of my biggest fears in life is getting framed for a crime I didn't commit, so I don't blame Cat for panicking when she sees a police sketch of a murder suspect on the news that looks exactly like her! Things get worse when she discovers that the victim was her childhood BFF, who she shared a dark secret with. Cat starts receiving letters and messages referencing this secret, which puts her on even higher alert. Not only is Cat suspected of her former friend's murder, now she has to worry about an event from her past resurfacing.
Thanks to NetGalley, Karen Cole, and Quercus for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A mystery book got a bit boring for me towards the middle of the book but was an okay read. Only my opinion other people may love it

The story starts with a good premise and a fast pace but drags in the middle with the main character constantly whining about her appearance. The suspense is quite predictable but the good writing towards the later part of the story sustained the interest. As all the characters are shown in a poor light the conclusion feels like a compromise. 3.5 stars
