I love this series and this was a great installment. I enjoyed the narrator but would have liked a female for Kate. That being said, I enjoyed how Nick's arrogance, humor, and sarcasm was captured. The dynamic duo of Kate and Nick are after Nazi treasure with the help of old and new friends. The usual craziness and fun ensues. Definitely a fun read!!!
it's a shame when work interferes with your reading schedule!!!! I have been dying to read this book and work just got in the way but finally found time... in the middle of the night.
Janet Evanovich has another hit on her hands and O'Hare and Fox have another adventure.
This time they are chasing lost gold that went missing during WWII... you know what means; FIELD TRIP!
This time both their fathers come along for the ride and a bumpy ride it is... they face the usual obstacle's - running for their lives, escaping danger at ever turn and of course... there are plenty of laughs and gasps along the way, and a bit of romance.
This is another great addition to the series and fans of Janet Evanovich's other books won't be disappointed in reading this series.
LOVED IT!
Can't wait for their next adventure... after they get a bit of rest.
I actually got both the audio version and the written version and went back and forth when i had time... narration was terrific but I ended up reading most of the book myself.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It is not often that the seventh book in the series is hands down, THE BEST, but Evanovich and Hamilton have done it. "The Bounty" has the most interesting plot, picturesque action sequences, character development and humor of any book in the series. I knew this was going to be a five star read just a few chapters in. All your favorite characters are back (Kate, Nick, and Kate's Rambo-esque dad Jake) plus we get to meet Nick's Dad and hunt across Europe for lost Nazi gold! I was ALL IN.
This is the audiobook you want to take on your next family road trip. You and your husband will both enjoy it. It's even safe for the kiddos. Violence is PG, pretty sure there was no cursing and sexy times are non-existent. In fact, I need this to be a movie on Netflix right now, but with a lot more cursing and nudity.
I really like how the narrator read with slightly different accents on some of the male parts to differentiate but left Kate's voice in his regular tone. When male narrators do female characters in a high-pitched tone the characters come off sounding stupid and Kate is a highly intelligent, kick butt heroine. He made nice choices that didn't distract from the story.
Bonus - the audiobook even contains a sneak peek at Janet Evanovich's new series!
It's still a little light on the romance for me, but I'll let it go because this is a high stakes treasure hunt for Nazi gold! I could definitely go for a sexy between-the-books novella about Nick & Kate's next vacation interlude though. Their chemistry must NOT be wasted!
I’m a longtime fan of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. This was my first foray into the world of Fox and O’Hare, and it was a delightful surprise.
Evanovich and Hamilton have written a screaming-good, exciting romp across Europe in this farfetched but effervescent and fun adventure.
Nick, Kate, and the rest of the cast are pretty stock for the genre, as are the bones of the story. But none of that matters much because it’s just so darn fun to read.
The book is almost nonstop action, which helps you ignore the improbability of things like free climbing The Eiffel Tower and other absurd stops on the gang’s quest to find a nazi treasure trove before some actual nazis do.
Sure, everything about it is a tiny bit ridiculous. But it’s also loads of fun and well worth whatever suspension of disbelief it requires.
Audiobook notes: I want this narrator to read EVERY audiobook. He’s absolutely brilliant at it, and I think I would take on a lot more audiobooks if he were always my reader. He employs the perfect amount of inflection and differentiates flawlessly between speakers without ever getting hammy or absurdist. And the material lent itself well to the audio format as well.
