Really enjoyed this book by a new author (to me at least). The characters were well defined and kept the story interesting. I am wondering how anyone in a small town keeps a secret though! Jesse and Addy were a match made in heaven. I think i would have put a bit more drama into Mia's leaving and returning. I think that timeline was a little unrealistic but otherwise really enjoyed the book. Thank you for allowing me to read this really enjoyed it.

Jesse Ryan has retired from his military career and come home to his family ranch to live. His father suffers from MS and now has a nurse who lives at the ranch them Jesse's parents. The nurse happens to be his childhood friend and the girl he left behind.
Jesse hasn't had much contact with her since he left 20 years ago and isn't sure what to expect. One thing he didn't expect was she was a mother.
As the two sort out their relationship or friendship Jesse works to find his place back on the ranch. That road will be rocky for them.
This is a wonderfully sweet story of coming home and the hopes and promises of what might still be possible.

I like the premise and the setting! The characters are lovely and I was invested in the story. It lost me at the father reveal part because it just seemed so cheesy and not relatable. It was not authentic and eye roll worthy but the book redeemed itself and I enjoyed the story. My thanks to the publisher for the advance reader in exchange for my honest review.

This is a heartwarming second chance romance that you don't want to miss. It's well written and full of emotions. Once you start reading it you can't put it down. This is a wonderful start to a new series! Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is a heartwarming second Chance romance. The characters are entertaining, the story is touching and emotional, and there’s plenty of chemistry, making this a fun read. I look forward to reading the stories of the other two Ryan brothers!

LOVED this book!! If you want a book full of good old fashioned country charm, with family togetherness sprinkled with a sassy teenager/young adult putting in her 2 cents, you will love this book. I loved the old fashioned romance between Sonny and Pearl, his lovely wife of many, many years who own a ranch run by family and close friends. I felt like I knew Addy, Mia and Jesse personally. It's so easy to love the characters in this book (and maybe hate one or two meddlesome gossips). :-)
I can't wait to read more of her books.

Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch is the first book about foster brothers. In this one Jesse returns home after 20 years in the military to take care of his foster parents. Addy is a health care worker who grew up with Jesse, has a 19-year-old rebellious daughter.
She runs away and with the help of Jesse and his wonderful foster family is brought home and shown love.
This is another sweet story by MS Brown. The writing was particularly good, and I did enjoy it. I have read several other of her books and this was not quite as good.
I did really enjoy the bonus Story-which I liked a lot more. I do plan to read about the other foster brothers. I recement the start of a new series. Thank you, Net Galley, for an advance copy for an honest review.

Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch by Carolyn Brown is another winner! Brown has a way of telling a story that is so realistic you feel like you are part of the family. Jesse Ryan and Addison Hall are the main characters but none of the characters in Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch are any less important to the story. The secret Addy has kept for nineteen years isn't really a secret to anyone except Jesse and that's what brings all the characters, including the town members, together. Ranch life, small towns and family are what makes this book one of my favorites.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from NetGalley.

Carolyn Brown is one of my favorite authors! She is so witty and fun! She absolutely delivers in this book once again! I am so glad to see Jesse and Addy get a second chance and see them put their family together! I can completely understand why Addy made the choices that she did! She knew that Jesse would give up his dream since she was his best friend. What a heart warming story!

This is the first book in the Ryan Family series and it centers around Jesse Ryan and Addison Hall.
Jesse and Addy/Addison were best friends as children until graduation night. The next day Ryan left for the Air Force, losing touch with the girl he always loved.
Now twenty years later, he has retired from the Air Force after becoming a combat medic and is ready to become a rancher. Addy is a nurse in their hometown. She and her daughter MIa are also helping at Jesse’s parents at the ranch and with his father who has MS.
The sparks of attraction are still there, but Addy is keeping a secret that will change everyone’s life.
Will they get a second chance at life and love or will the secret keep them apart?
Though the storyline was predictable, it was a good story for an afternoon of leisure.
I was entrusted a copy of the book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

They work to find their love.

This is an excellent read for the summer. Very easy and the characters are the type that you will fall in love with! There is some mild language in the story however it is clean romance. You are sure to enjoy!

A second chance at love is had when Jesse returns to his family ranch after retiring from the Air Force to find the woman who was once his best friend and the daughter he never knew he had. This was such a lovely read about the type of family that I would love to be able to sit at a dinner table with and absorb all of the warmth first hand. The only thing that I did not love was Jesse's 19 year old daughter. Going through a rebellious phase she comes across as immature and bratty which makes it difficult to emphasize with her. I am very excited to read the next book in the series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In reading 'Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch' I had to suspend so much disbelief to allow me to get into the story. I found it completely unrealistic that Jesse never once considered the consequences of the last night before he joined the Air Force. It was just silly to me. The characters were likeable, however I found their dialogue a little robotic at times. All in all, it was just disappointing.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. the opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Jesse is returning home after being in the military for years. His adoptive parents are getting older and need help with the farm. Living on the farm is his old friend Addy with her daughter. I enjoyed the chemistry between Jesse and Addy.

As always, Brown provides an uplifting story. Jesse returns home to care for his aging foster parents - glad to be back in Texas until he learns that their housekeeper/nurse is a former love interest from high school. Addy has a 19 year old daughter which happens to be Jesse although he is not aware of that. This coming together of a family while another is suffering the hardships of aging is a delight. It would be lovely to see the world through Mrs. Brown's eyes so thoughtful and and positive.

The first book I read by this author I absolutely loved and looked forward to reading some others. I am sorry to say this one is very disappointing. It definitely was not a book that caught my interest and kept it. I found the characters boring, lackluster or so spoiled rotten, bratty and selfish. Hard pass on this story and author. I received this ARC from NetGalley for an unbiased review.

Second Chance at Sunflower Ranch is about the love being strong enough to still spark after a long absence. You'll find out if they can overcome their past and face the future together. You'll enjoy how things turn out for this family.

I was given a copy of this book through the publisher and NetGalley for my honest review.

When Jesse Ryan returns home after a 20yr stint as a medic in the Air Force, he knew there were going to be some changes in his life. But he did not see a biggie coming when he discovered that his best friend Addy had a daughter and that daughter just happened to be his. Addy Hall came back to the town where she and Jesse grew up to be a nurse to Jesse’s dad Sunny who has MS. She and Mia soon become part of the family, but Addy was hiding the truth from them all about Mia. But you know secrets, they eventually come out in the wash.

Addy was a busy single mother, raising a good daughter. But when Mia starts to be rebellious and runs away with the town bad boy, she is at a loss how to handle this situation, but with help of Jesse, Pearl and Sunny, they navigate through her path and hope that with love, she will find her right path. It’s a lot for a 19-year-old to handle, but she realizes her mistakes and knows she has the love of good people in her life to help her back to what is her path.

This story was just wonderful. I could relate to so many of the problems that the Ryan family and Addy face. Sonny has MS, and I know first-hand how taking care of a family member with this dreaded disease can be on the patient and their caregivers. I loved how the family all pulled together no matter what the situation was, they had each other’s back. And even though some of it was hard to do, there unfailing love for one another saw they through the good and bad times. Jesse and Addy were friends who became lovers one night only and it changed both of their lives. Sometimes life has to give you a few stumbling blocks before you find your true path. Within the pages of any Carolyn Brown book, I know I am going to love her characters and love the story. They are always warm-hearted reads, with real life situations and a little sass and a lot of love. I can't wait for the next book in this new series by Carolyn Brown.

Thank you, Carolyn Brown, her publisher Forever Books, and NetGalley for giving me the chance to read and review this amazing book. (less)
