Great ideas for ways to recharge, reset your inner balance, and re-ignite your spirit. Interesting spells and rituals; written in a fun tone; and acknowledging that sometimes you need a bit more than intention and manifestation to solve a problem (actual modern medicine, say, or actually submitting resumes).
ADORE Mandi Em. I've been following her on Instagram for years. This was so so good and even if you aren't a practicing witch, there is tons of good advice in here.
I am not into witchy/Wiccan stuff but this was actually a cute self help book that offered some good tips. I like that they don’t try to make you buy a bunch of stuff to utilize their advice. I have a few friends that I’ll recommend it to.
This was a little more beginner witch guide and actual spells than I was expecting but it still had a lot of life principles and overall it was easy to read and understand.
Definitely check out if your interested in beginning in wicca.
Love this cover but haven’t been in the mood to read. I may come back to this in the future and think it will be a good read.
I had some regrets as soon as I opened this book and saw "Conjure your inner boss witch"
and it summed up my entire experience with this book. There would be times I'd be going "yes, yes, yes" and then the next page I'd come crashing back down due to the next point or where the Em went with what they were talking about.
Part of this can be chalked up to my disbelief in the law of attraction, even before I had really dived further into skepticism.
I did enjoy other insights into options for grounding and meditation as these were some of the first skills I used from my practice to help with my Anxiety.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have been keeping journals all of my life and I have been looking for new things to add to that routine and this came with magickal therapy. I liked doing the activities like making a bucklist. It made me feel like I am making progress and I can go back to the book if I need to refer to something. It left me feeling really positive.
I was not sure what to expect when reading this but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
We begin by learning some basics such as grounding and manifestation. The best part is that the exercises allow you to put into practice what you learn while reading. The plethora of rituals and activities means there is something for everyone in here.
I enjoyed reading this as there were a lot of great tips for grounding yourself and dealing with anxiety which is something that a lot of people can use. I thought it was an excellent reminder to focus on mindfulness, rituals, and nature which sometimes get lost in our busy world.
Oh gods. The most important thing you need to know about my review is that I dnf-ed around 30% because I couldn't bear wasting my time and energy on this book anymore.
Most other readers seemed to enjoy it though? I really don't know why?
The first thing that bothered me, which is a very personal thing, is the writing itself. It reads like an overly excited teenager. I couldn't take it serious and I got more annoyed by the second.
Other than that, the book is based on the Law of Attraction, which I see very critically. Very, very critically.
Also "Self-help is hard (and therapy is expensive!), but magic makes it easier than ever." FUCKING NO! YOU CAN'T FUCKING USE MAGIC INSTEAD OF THERAPY OR MEDICINE!
This is a surprisingly helpful, fun, in-depth book for folks who want to work on self care, self improvement and stress relief from a Wiccan standpoint. While I'm not Wiccan, I really appreciated the author's voice and advice, and that this isn't a book where you need to buy a bunch of special herbs and tools. As others have pointed out, it's very science-based and doesn't discourage medical care and seeking out experts' help. The meditations and rituals are easy to do and likely be truly helpful for many. Well recommended.
I read a digital ARC of this book via NetGalley.
LOVED this. I’ve been wanting to get more in touch with my witchy/spiritual side and this guides you through many processes and mindsets to help you do so. I particularly liked the chapter delving into getting closer to your intuition and trusting it more, as well as a self grounding altar.
Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to open their mind more.
The spells, rituals, and pieces of wisdom offered in this book are worth checking out, regardless of whether you're a novice to witchcraft or a well-versed practitioner.
I loved this book as I always love a book that helps me get more in touch with my craft. It's a good guide to have on your shelf for reference and one I will definitely pick up to add to my collection. It was easy to follow and gave some good advice and answered questions well. I would recommend.
What I really liked about this book is that it's so much more than what witchcraft has been made up to be, in that it makes it so simple. I have read other books on the subject, some that probably had the word "simple" somewhere in the title but always proved to be anything but. This doesn't ask for anything overly complicated and is really just a great new way to approach mediation, focusing on your energy, and visualization.
I really liked this book. I was never one for witchcraft, but I picked this book to give something new a try. This book is extensive. I was really impressed with the amount of detail that has been put into the book and the general practice of completing the tasks requires a lot of concentration. The book implores techniques ground in mindfulness, manifestation, self- reflection and promoting positive thinking, and also includes witchy elements (crystals, tarot cards, etc)
⭐⭐⭐⭐ -- Who doesn't need to banish the bullsh!t! 😂
I don't think anyone can say that the past year and a half hasn't taken its toll on our mental health to some degree. With that in mind, I went into this book with the hope it would offer me some help and guidance as I cope with the world we live in now. Did it achieve that? Yes. I found it to be straightforward, entertaining, easy to read, the rituals easy to follow and easy to apply to my life. A definite recommendation from yours truly. 👍🏻

"In putting in the work, you’re programming your brain to see the value of your own actions when it comes to grabbing this beautiful, chaotic life by the balls."
I've been looking for something like this for awhile. And this really helped.
It had a lot in it that you can use (and tweak to fit your needs and beliefs).
It's easy to read and fun to read (which is always a plus)
I read this through out the morning and spent alot if time highlighting some of her tips.
I definitely recommend this book
Thanks to Netgalley for giving me the Arc for an Honest review
This book felt a little too millennial for me. Some of the chapter/section titles were so cringey like "Rid Yourself of Stank Ass Energy," Flip Your Mindset By Being Grateful AF," and "Get Your Grounding Game On Point." There's good general advice, but nothing groundbreaking. There's also this general vibe of "not like other witches" that I got when reading.
I appreciated that the book was not anti-medicine like a lot of the books in the same category. It also wasn't a terrible book and it is easy to read and comprehend, but it just wasn't for me. I honestly think it would be perfect for someone in their late 20s and older who's just getting into witchcraft.
This is a great book to add to your personal collection. It is definitely a book you will want to keep close to you and use it over and over. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to banish negativity from their life. There is alot of practical advice given here as well.
