Memoirs of the author and how she got her life pretty much back on track after going through bereavement (brother and husband), serious illness and then the struggle to wean herself off all the drugs she’d been given for medical reasons. Rachel is a strong character and tenacious in her battles to resume normal life after so many devastating events. For that she has to be admired but does come across as selfish sometimes especially when it comes to her men. We don’t really get to know her very much nor the others in her family but do get to know practically every detail of her dependency on Valium. A decent edit would have go rid of the many duplications. A biography would be much better if it were in chronological order instead of flitting here and there all the time!

Wow reading this you would never ever believe its a true story. The bravery of this lady just blows me away. Such a difficult read but with a light and airy approach. There's so many branches to this book thar you actually don't know what route you are heading down next
Fabulous read

Really enjoyed this book - so much trauma but it was well-presented and beautifully told. I liked the dual narrative, and the experience of the narrator healing was very interesting.
