A general overview of attachment theory with examples. It's meant as a tool for understanding oneself, but I think any serious self-exploration would require much more work than reading a book. I found it more helpful as a tool to understand relationships.
A basic overview of attachment theory, its history, attachment types, how attachment can change, and attachment's importance to adult romantic relationships. The mix of pop-psych advice, academic descriptions, and intriguing case studies worked and it feels like this would be a good introduction for those that know little about attachment theory. That said, I wish the author had used some less extreme case studies. By highlighting abuse or neglect, the author made it more likely that people would think that avoidant or anxious attachment styles didn't match their backgrounds and therefore didn't apply to them and thereby get less of the benefits from understanding attachment! 3.5 stars because there wasn't much in here I didn't know, but it was a well done intro.

I received a #gifted copy of this audiobook from #netgalley and wanted to share with you how much I think you should listen to it. The author narrated the book and I can not express how uniquely her reading voice is, it’s soothing and captivating at the same time. I at some points listened to it just to be soothed by her voice. I would have loved to have her as a therapist! Okay so not just her voice is why you should listen to it, even though it is really satisfying, but this is yet another good and informative book on attachment. I like the examples used in this book and how it breaks down how to respond to attachment styles, what one can do to learn when to respond to them or react in a healthy different way.
Another great Attachment book.
Not the biggest fan of psychology books. As a psychology major I learned a bunch of this in college but sometimes I find these books contradicting or repetive and not very helpful for people without my psychology background
Thank you Netgalley for this advanced copy for me to listen to and review. I'm a marriage and child therapist so I was so happy to listen to this audio version about Attachment Theory. I've always been fascinated by Attachment theory and this author did a very nice job giving an introduction to it and applying it to our lives and relationships. I personally feel anyone having children should read this book as it would help you understand why you react the way you do to your child. Having a spouse, and or a child brings alot of past family issues to the surface. It can be good to be aware of what your dealing with.
Have fun
.Great book!
A nice book for learning how bad behaviors and unhelpful patterns form at a young age. The narration was distracting at times, though her voice held empathy and warmth.
It's Attachment follows how Attachment styles and theory can impact your relationships and security in life.
I find attachment theory totally fascinating, and I think this audiobook provided a great introduction and structure for listeners to get a feel for how it could play into their life decisions. I loved this audiobook, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend for a good explanation of how attachment styles can impact your day to day life.
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
