What a great idea for a book. I always try to find ways to be more productive. This book gave me great ideas of more I can do
Despite modern conveniences and technological advances, we seem to cram more and more into every day. We get so busy, we don’t take the time to appreciate our blessings or take advantage of the God-moments in our lives.
In The Power of 1440, Tim Timberlake encourages readers to celebrate every minute of every day. All 1440 of them.
This book was a little convicting as I’m one of those people who bemoans Mondays and counts down the days of the week until the weekend. Timberlake reminded me that Monday through Friday are not to be dismissed so easily.
Each of the short chapters hits on topics like fear, self-doubt, blessing others, and more. This 30-day study will encourage you to count every minute as a blessing.

I will start this review by admitting that I am not likely the target audience for a book like this, which is why I wanted to read it. While I found the book to be a bit heavy on the 'preachy' side, (not being a Christian) there are a lot of good things in this book on dealing with the everyday trials we all face and making the most of the time we are given. Overall a decent book, though I doubt many of my friends or family would enjoy it due to its biblically-based perspective.
I don’t often read non fiction but I like to read a genre that is not my normal read. I’ve found some good books that way.
I thought this book was good. Its all about taking the 24 hours in a day and making the most of it. I liked that this book has practical and easy to apply tips for doing just that. It doesn’t feel preachy. I liked that. He covers topics like fear, blessing others and hardship. All these things that each person deals with at some point in their life. Tim Timberlake does a good job pointing to what the Lord says in scripture about each topic.I think this a good book to read slowly. Read a chapter, think about and then move on to the next chapter. I think the reader can learn valuable truths and how to make the to most of the 1440 minutes in a day.
I listened to some of this book as an audiobook. Tim Timberlake narrates his own book. It’s always neat when the author narrates their own book. He was easy to listen to.
I recommend this book to my family and friends.

Make the most of every minute that we're given. It’s a concept that mentally we all know, and most try to live by, but it’s easier said than done, especially with the harried lives we all live in this day and age. The Power of 1440 by Tim Timberlake takes you minute by minute, reminding you to make the most out of each 1,440 minutes that we are blessed to have each day. Each minute is a gift, and it's so easy for us to take them for granted.
From the introduction I found myself highlighting like crazy, the points that Tim makes so spot on! I have recently felt like I've been in a rut, life becoming mundane, and I've caught myself going through the motions on multiple occasions. Then I read this:
"The only reason life seems ordinary, or even burdensome, is because we choose to think it is. We believe it to be true so it is."
Wow! It is my choice, our choice, as to what we believe, and what we see. After reading this sentence I started to see God more in the little things. He is everywhere! The mind is such a powerful thing, I often forget that what I think and focus on holds such immense influence on every other aspect of my life.
To say that this book was thought-provoking is an understatement. The practical approach was perfect for me and the real world examples that Tim included really makes the principles taught applicable. The chapters aren't that long, which I loved, and the writing feels heartfelt, genuine, and down-to-earth.
I can see this book being a reference, and a reminder for years to come, and am so thankful that I had the opportunity to read this wonderful resource!
