Reading rival felt like watching a great rom-com. Lauren and Jeremy are both athletic coaches (for different sports) who work for rival school. A meet-cute in front of one potential student's recruit house and sparks go flying. As they both navigate attraction and school rivalry its clear to see they have something special. Jennifer Lane has done an excellent job with her characters in this book. One of the best features of this book is the dialog as Lane shows us how communication and honesty are important, in sports and relationships. It was nice to read a book where the characters weren't delaying explanations or making decisions for another person and talked things out. The dialog is uproariously hilarious and keeps you entertained. It drags you in and makes you want to keep reading more. While this is a sports book, it does not get overly technical so there's no need to know all about the sport to enjoy the book. Enjoy the chemistry between the characters instead. Its worth it.

This book was just ok for me. I liked the rival aspect but I really wasn’t an enemies to lovers trope. I also liked the twin aspect and I wish there was more of that in this book. But I did enjoy the love story and the ending. All opinions are my own and thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

Thank you to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me this arc via Netgalley!
Once again, I am sooo disappointed. Please stop advertising a book as enemies to lovers when there's only like 20 pages of light animosity.

I absolutely loved this book!!!
Jennifer Lane knows how to write! Sports romances are in my top 5 favorite to read in romance and this is going to top of my favorites. The character development was so good, I felt like I was right their with them.

Lauren and Jeremy are coaches at rival schools, Ohio and Michigan; coaching two completely different sports, football and volleyball. They meet while recruiting twins Emma and Evan. Needless to say the twins end up going to the two different schools but their bond is always there. Through this whole transition we see Lauren and Jeremy’s relationship develop from hate to love with each other and to almost parental kind of figures with their two recruits. Lauren is such a strong woman and so independent, I love how the author made her like this and Jeremy just wants to be part of her life, supporting her dreams while she does the same. If you want more you will just have to read it! It’s a must read! I will definitely be reading more from this author.

I received an ARC for and honest review from the author and Psyched Publishing.
