Adorable book! Very hard to go wrong with a children's book and this one was a great bed time story to read to my own children.

You can't go wrong with a cute children's book and this one didn't disappoint. Definitely a cute read that I recommend getting for your kids

Review: An inspirational story for young children who may feel like they're not able to help with a lot of chores or jobs around the house. Very simple and bright colored illustrations focus more on the characters than the setting. The story centers on the feeling created by sharing hugs with one another as a way to help or brighten someone's day. A nice choice for young children who love animals!

This is a simple, straightforward book about a cute little bird who goes around hugging his animal friends. The passages aren't very difficult, so good for a young reader or for following along. The drawings are not overly complicated, they're very simple but really cute. My favorite was the bird and cow, as well as the piglet scenes. They were very sweet.

It's a great day for a hug! So so cute. This is a picture book about animal farms, which can be used in pre-school, in speech/language therapy or just at home. Really liked how Chick gave everyone a hug or a kiss. The art work is quite simple, but really pretty in my opinion. Would recommend checking this out if you little one is interested in animals and/or farms.

Although I might not be the target audience for this book, I found it to be very cute, just to my liking. Younger children will definitely enjoy this short and cute picture book.

A Great Day for a Hug by Mack van Gageldonk is a very cute story for toddlers. The pictures are beautiful. Children love hugs and will love this story. I would love to read this story to my granddaughter she will especially love the duck in the story.

This is such a cute little book with lots of fun farm animals and a little chick who loves to go around making everyone happy with hugs. The chick getting muddy with the pig and the ensuing mess was definitely the best part! The kids loved it!

Cute book! This has a great message of just offering hugs to friends who may need them. The pictures weren't super complex or over the top. I liked the paler colors that were chosen for this.

A great Day for a Hug is a cute picture book about a chick who helps out around the farm by giving everyone hugs and kisses. The illustrations are sweet and colorful. This book has sweet text but I prefer toddler books to be rhyming for interest and development. The descriptions of the animals waking up and going back to sleep were good!

Our little baby chick is a special kind of friend. She shows empathy and love to all of those on the farm. Even those that might be scared like the pig, she talks to them kindly till they are ready for a friend to help them. The drawings are simple, we get lots of emotion words to talk about, and also get to identify many different farm animals.

I think the first few pages may be a little wordy, but when it gets into the story of the chick interacting with animals it is simple enough to follow along for my children and we can interact by pointing to the animals when we say the names and talk about emotions of kindness and giving hugs.

This is a sweet book about the different jobs everyone has on the farm including the little chick. This book is a reminder that even someone small can make a big impact on those around them. The pictures were cute too!

Small book with cute animal that love each other and hugs each others. Beautiful and heart warming in this time of distancing!

Simplistic illustrations go with a simplistic tale of a little chick who spends the day helping his farmyard companions out by giving them a kiss or a peck or a hug – until one needs a bit more. No, not in that way, you dirty-minded person you. But yes, you could wish to add a bit of stranger-danger, hadn't-you-best-keep-your-hugs-to-yourself lesson to the use of this book before too long. Just in case. Before then, this is slight, and I guess a winner, but I can't testify to using it on the target audience.
