Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey is a delightful and heartwarming romantic comedy that is a perfect fit for readers who adore lighthearted, humorous, and uplifting stories about self-discovery, love, and the power of vulnerability, with a dash of whimsy and a strong sense of nostalgia.
This book has become one of my staff picks at work. It had me not wanting to put the book down to see what happened next. Truly any book that has me wanting to through the book against the wall is a good sign when the two main characters do something silly in terms of liking one another. After doing a bit of a late feedback I am now wanting to pick this book up again and reread.
I LOVED Very Sincerely Yours. Kerry Winfrey has such a talent for writing heartwarming yet complex love stories. I loved Teddy and Everrett's story, the letter writing, and how she crafts her imperfect yet loveable characters.
I love Kerry Winfrey's books because of how sweet and heart-warming they are - you know exactly what you're going to get when you pick up one of her books.
Teddy and Everett are highly original, but incredibly relatable, MC's and I loved how their relationship grew as they did as individuals. Combine that with a stellar friend group and I was enamoured from start to finish.
LOVE A BOOK WITH EMAILS.
Very sweet romance with fall vibes. Loved the character development of Teddy!
I adored the use of epistolary in this novel. I loved these characters and I loved the highlight of female friendships. The book was a little bit of a slow burn but overall I was really happy with the ending.
Well, this was an absolute bundle of cuteness! Newly single after a relationship that grossly dictated her life, Teddy is ready to step out of her comfort zone. The first thing she does? Emails the host of Everett's Place, a televised program for children, baring her heart and seeking advice.
I adored this epistolary romance! Teddy and Everett stole my heart in their email exchanges. And even more so as they coincidentally cross paths in adorably awkward, smile-inducing ways.
I really connected with Teddy. She's very unsure of herself and her purpose in life / career. I think we've all been there at times. Everett was so supportive, giving Teddy a feeling of importance—something she really lacked in her previous relationship. I loved his gentle, nerdy personality, self-awareness, and his passion for puppetry. He was a unique guy!
This was such a joyful, lighthearted read, but it also had a heartwarming depth to its message. SO GLAD I finally picked this one up.
Another sweet and charming story from Kerry Winfrey. This one very much has a "You've Got Mail" vibe with an adorable, younger Mr Rogers love interest. It was a quick and easy read.
I loved this book so much! I can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner. I got it as a NetGalley arc a while ago, and I just never got to it, but I’m so glad I finally did! Even if it’s long after the release date 😅
The romance was super cute, and Everett was freaking adorable! I love him. The development of the romance was so well done and so sweet. Even when they hit a bump in their relationship, I loved how it was handled and how both Teddy and Everett worked to resolve it.
I hated Teddy’s ex boyfriend, but we’re supposed to, pretty sure, especially since everybody else in Teddys life doesn’t like him. But I completely respected Teddy for standing up for herself finally and taking what she wants and deserves, and stopped letting someone else steer her around like their little puppet.
And Everett, I just loved him so much. He was the complete opposite of her ex. I loved that he’s a puppeteer and that he loves his job and wanting to help children so much.
I want this to be a completely beautiful, cheesy, cute romcom movie that I can gush over!
Winfrey is excellent at combining a lighthearted romantic premise with a deep emotional heart. I enjoyed the epistolary aspect of the story.
This author is always such a hit or miss for me. Whole one of her other books was my favorite read of the year this one just want my cup of tea.
I've adored anything I've read by Kerry Winfrey and this book was no exception. Every Winfrey character is as sweet as honey and oh, so endearing. If you love an adorable, quirky romance, pick this book up asap.
I didn't love the Tom Hanks one, but this one was absolutely delightful! This one is going on my annual Summer Reading Guide.
This was a cute romance, including a Mr. Rogers-style hero. It's a little cheesy, but readers that enjoy a sweeter romance would definitely like this one!
I wasn't able to read this book prior to it's pub date due to unforeseen circumstances in my personal life. I regret that I was not able to do this, but I want to let the publisher and Netgalley know that I did not simply ignore this responsibility. I appreciate the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for gifting me this copy anyway.
I love everything that Kerry Winfrey writes. She has such a way of telling a story that transforms you out of your own life and into the lives of her characters.
I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.
VERY SINCERELY YOURS is such a delightful read. Winfrey is my escape when I want to enter into a story and become invested in other people's lives. The author brought wit, heart, and uniquely interesting characters. Another fabulous book!
I thought this was a cute and charming you’ve got mail inspired romance. Who knew romance needed puppeteers? It was an interesting choice of a career and made for some interesting moments in the book. I did love the chemistry between teddy and Everett. It was fun and filled with hope and adventure. Teddys journey to self discovery was also a bright spot in the book as we try new things with her. I wish we would have seen more of her journey to finding her thing but it was a nice read all the same
Teddy is grown adult with a guilty pleasure: local children’s show, Everrett’s Place. When Teddy finds her world falling apart, she emails Everett in a moment of weaknesses. The two start emailing back and forth, and they eventually meet in person and sparks fly. They both have big career decisions to make
Very Sincerely Yours is a slow burn, and it a sweet book. I enjoyed it!
Thanks to @NetGalley and Berkley for my ARC!
