Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Kerry Winfrey is one of the authors I don’t even both reading the synopsis for. In the rom-com genre, you truly cannot find better writing than Winfrey, and this book did not disappoint. Muppets? Check. Cute men in cardigans? Check. This was everything I’ve ever wanted in a romcom.
This was a cute, light read! Really liked the “You’ve Got Mail” vibes….Teddy and Everett each had their own personal obstacles to overcome, and their journeys were a comforting reminder of how no one has it all figured out (and that there’s no deadline for figuring it all out— phew lol)! If you're looking for a beach read this summer, Very Sincerely Yours should be on your to-be-read list!

Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey tells the story of Teddy, who needs to discover herself after an unexpected breakup, and Everett St. James, the star of a local TV show. In a very "You've Got Mail" move, Teddy writes a letter to Everett and the two begin a correspondence.
This book was such a delightfully fun read! I couldn't put it down. I have a particular weakness for characters learning about each other through letters, and I very much enjoyed the correspondence between Teddy and Everett. I appreciated that Teddy was in her thirties and still didn't have her life figured out, as I felt like it made her a very real and relatable character. I absolutely loved Everett. As far as book boyfriends go, he had the perfect mix of being funny, thoughtful, and kind. Teddy's friends in this book were also really well-developed and I loved the comical interactions between them. This was a five star read for me, and I would definitely recommend it!
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC! This did not affect the contents of my voluntary review. All opinions are honest and my own.
Oh my swoony heart!!! I am absolutely IN LOVE with Everett. This was such a beautiful premise for a story! I children's television host and a recently dumped woman who is a little bit lost in the world?! Utterly perfect. All of the characters were spectacular, the plot was so cute, and the setting was just so cozy.
Very Sincerely Yours
Kerry Winfrey
Everett and Teddy
Teddy can’t figure out her ‘thing.’ Everett has known his since the age of four but also knows there’s some thing missing. There are serious subjects like abandonment and how children can have their spirits crushed - and its effect on them as adults. But it’s about facing your fears and finding yourself. And all this is done in a semi-epistolary romp of a novel. The characters are lovable and charming. They have sparkling banter both in person and in the emails sent to one another. This novel is a fun, funny and adorable read.
I would recommend this book to my patrons.
Another delightful Kerry Winfrey romance! The heroine is a recently dumped, figuring-it-out 30yo and the hero is hot Mr. Rogers - what more could you want? The romance is sweet and the supporting cast is charming and each of the protagonists have just enough (pretty low-stakes, but sympathetically relatable) conflict going on to make this a very satisfying, cozy read.
Very Sincerely Yours is such a sweet and refeshing romance, reminiscent of "You've Got Mail". The two main characterers communicate through emails that are tender, delightful and so supportive. Very Sincerely Yours is a story of love and personal growth and remembering that emotional support comes from many sources inour lives. Loved this book.
Absolutely loved this book and hot Mr Rogers. I’ve read Waiting for Tom Hanks and Not Like the Movies so far and I think this one is my favourite yet!
At first I didn’t think I was going to like this, Teddy was decidedly not a character for me. Everett on the other hand, literal dream boat, so he got me to stick around. I am glad I did, the story isn’t anything ground breaking but I enjoy the way she writes and as much as I love some good smut in my romances it’s nice to have something a bit more PG sometimes. The cover though is mis-leading there are no typewriters, it should be a laptop or maybe an email wooshing from one side to the other like Samantha on Bewitched. All in all an enjoyable fast read.
Teddy is unceremoniously dumped by longtime boyfriend Richard and has no idea where to go in life. She realizes her life for the past several years has literally revolved around taking care of Richard and now she needs to find herself..,,so she turns desperate and decides to email the celebrity kids host Everett St James.
Everett hosts a kids show reading letters from kids offering small bits of advice or wisdom. He uses puppets as props and loves his job, but his love life is lackluster.
Teddy writes in to Everett’s Place on a whim- never thinking to hear a response and they begin email relationship- never meeting until accidentally one night... Can they be more than email pals?
This book was sweet as pie. I loved reading about Teddy's personal journey. It's easy to get caught up in what others expect of you, and spend years neglecting yourself. It's also easy to let childhood trauma drastically change your personality, preventing you from living a full life...whoosh! The supporting characters were delightful. I especially loved her friends. Everett is a dream. I've known many puppeteers in my life, and the good majority of them are wonderful, kind, and deserving to be the lead in a romcom. Also, the heavy emphasis on life being more than your job is a welcome theme, post-quarantine. We should all be making an effort to enjoy ourselves, every day.
I recommend this for fans of Meg Cabot.
As a You've Got Mail superfan, I really enjoyed this book! Plus, who doesn't love a hot, young homage to Mr. Rogers.
Another sweet rom-com from Kerry Winfrey.
I love that this author always has a nod to popular romances that we all know and love in her novels. The same was true with this book with it’s similarities to You’ve Got Mail. Teddy is struggling to find direction in her life and is trying to embrace what makes her happy rather than always pleasing those around her. In a moment of desperation while trying to find herself she decides to email the host of a local children’s show, Everett, who is known as the hot Mister Rogers. His advice on a recent episode rings true for Teddy so she pours her heart out to him in an honest email. She is surprised when he writes back and their connection grows as they continue their correspondence.
I thought this was a cute read and liked Teddy and Everett together. They both had some great character growth. I also liked many of the side characters in this book, particularly Teddy’s boss and Everett’s sister. They kept things entertaining in every scene they appeared. While I liked this story I didn’t relate to it quite as well as the author’s other books. I’d still recommend giving it a try if you’re a fan of romances like You’ve Got Mail.
Fans of Kerry Winfrey will not be disappointed! I LOVED Waiting for Tom Hanks & Not Like the Movies so I was really looking forward to Very Sincerely Yours. Well rounded characters, an adorable love story, nothing bad to say!! Read it :)
This is hands down my favorite Kerry Winfrey book so far. The transformation of Theodora/Teddy has such a wonderful balance between her own self-discovery/self-acceptance and her falling in love with Everett and his encouragement for her to be herself. I loved it! Everett was such a niche character that I loved him instantly. Winfrey's timing on getting these two together was perfection, just enough tension, just enough give, and the dramatic third act was just the right amount, too.
Would highly recommend to any patrons that enjoy witty banter, fun, easy, characters (with deep emotions underneath), low drama, and low steam.
Thanks so much for this wonderful ARC!!!!
Very Sincerely Yours is a sweet romance with You've Got Mail vibes. Kerry Winfrey continues to shine with her charming characters and witty humor.
Theodora aka Teddy is approaching her thirties and at a bit of a standstill in her life. She is still working at the same toy store and doesn't know what her true purpose/passion in life truly is. Her life really turns upside down when her longtime boyfriend breaks up with her. So, what does she do next?
Teddy has an amazing group of friends who help her find her way. Watching her guilty pleasure, Everett's Place, also helps her feel hopeful. It is a children's show but it's something about the innocence of the show that makes her calm and motivated. It also doesn't hurt that the host, Everett, is attractive. One night she feels impulsive and writes him an email never imagining that he would have the time to read or even respond to it.
Everett is a dedicated man who has known what he has wanted all of his life. He knew that he wanted to share lessons with children through puppets and make a difference. But sometimes his passion gets in the way of his personal life.
When Everett receives an email from Teddy he is taken aback. He is amazed that someone other than a child is a fan and surprised at how honest and vulnerable she is. They go back and forth writing emails that are both honest and positive. They build a beautiful connection and when they finally get the chance to meet you can feel the sparks.
I love Kerry Winfrey's writing so much. It's always so real and relatable and her sense of humor is the best. And I do appreciate her love for Tom Hanks and Taco Bell!! Teddy and Everett are so adorable together and absolutely adored Everett every time he made Teddy feel important and worthy. Teddy has been through so much and to have a man cherish her the way he does is just plain beautiful.
I give Very Sincerely Yours 5 stars. It's another unputdownable read by Kerry Winfrey. Her charming storytelling is magical and romantic. It reads like an old-school Tom Hanks movie rom-com. Romance lovers will enjoy this book for its cute characters, appealing plot, and the story's humor.
Oh, how I adore the writing of Kerry Winfrey. It's such a balm, especially during these times.
I adored Very Sincerely Yours. We get a little cameo from Winfrey's earlier works, like a literary wink, but this story functions on its own. We meet Teddy and Everett, who are MFEO.
We have Everett, who is like a millennial Mr. Rogers, and Teddy, who is our endearing by slightly untethered leading lady. There's a You've Got Mail-ish plot with them exchanging emails without both of them knowing each other's identities, but it's not overly draw out. That's just the meet cute establishment.
What transpires from there isn't without its predictable elements, but in a soothing way. It's certainly one I'd recommend to a friend.
Many thanks the author, publisher, and author for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.
Kerry Winfrey's books always feel like a warm hug. It was a delight to visit a world she created again, this time with a different cast of characters. As with all Winfrey's books, the dialogue is snappy and funny and the characters feel so beautifully real. I appreciate a protagonist like Teddy who doesn't have life 100% figured out. VSY is sprinkled with fantastic side characters and plentiful fast food references, which you can't go wrong with. Such fun!
A warm and cozy book, I fell in love with Everett and the world that was created! Kerry Winfrey can do no wrong. She's a must read author for me. Especially loved the sweetness of it. Did not expect to cry but of course I did!!
Oh, I loved every page of Very Sincerely Yours. Well, except for her pompous ex-boyfriend. Teddy is a 30 year old working at toy store when she finds herself very much single. (Honestly this is much better for her!) She loves a local children's show, thats hosted by a very cute Everett. She works up the courage to write him and they become penpals! I loved the pen-pal aspect to this story. It made the story that much more interesting. I'm a total sucker for a nerd cute boy, and Everett was the perfect balance of nerdy and adorable. I loved the writing in this story, it made it easy to fly through this adorable novel! The other characters were very likable too. I would absolutely read this story over and over again.
