I just finished Flash Fire and I am in a severe book hangover. The characters in this book are all so well developed that when the book ends, you feel like you are saying goodbye to good friends. I love spending time with all of them. They make me smile and laugh and cry and even teach me a few things. The Extraordinaries series is one of my favorites and I can't wait for more!
And speaking of endings, WOW. I think that ExtraordinariesSuperFan put it best when they said "OMF GOD! This was AMAZING! But why did you have to leave it on ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER???!!! AAAAAAAAA (Quote from The Extraordinaries)

Flash Fire is everything I was hoping for and more. The story picks up after the epic battle of the bridge and continues with team PyroStorm and lighthouse. Nick has given up trying to become and extraordinary but little does he know that being an extraordinary is in his blood, and he will soon have to navigate what it means to be an extraordinary.
Being an extraordinary is more than just being a superhero, but being true to yourself, your family and friends. Flash Fire made me laugh out loud and cry multiple times, with a cliffhanger that I never saw coming. If you enjoyed the first book you will enjoy Flash Fire and be wishing you could read what is happening next now!

This book is just terrific. I so enjoyed the first book in the series, and this sequel met -- and exceeded -- expectations. It is the story of Nick, his friends, and their family as they navigate the responsibilities that come with being extraordinary -- what they owe each other, their communities, their family, and themselves. If you enjoyed the Extraordinaries, you will definitely enjoy this book. Highly recommend!

This book is funny, exciting, and inclusive. So often YA books are written as if the characters are adults, but here is a book where parents are present, students attend school, and dialogue is realistic.
The premise for this sequel is great, and the ending was perfect. I loved how unique the story was, a real stand-out in YA new releases.

A FANTASTIC follow up to the first book! I need book three now, that was such a wild cliffhanger! Another triumph from TJ Klune!

Flash Fire's characters were random and its fanfiction a little cringe-worthy, but this book made me laugh more than I have in years.
The characters were sweet. The plot was solid and moved well, and while I knew some twists, it wasn't predictable--the last twist I got wrong (I wasn't expecting quite that) .
Overall, Flash Fire is definitely worth reading, and I really look forward to the next book.
