This was my first read of Mandy Magro’s Work and it won’t be the last. Savannah and Ash find themselves drawn to each other after both experiencing tragedy. But the secret Savannah is hiding may just put an end to romance before it begins and out both of them in danger. This was such as easy read and I didn’t want to put it down. Loved it.
I'm not the romantic book reader but I know Mandy Magro is a great writer and thought I would give this a go.
Based in Australia, which I love, it is about starting over after tragic circumstances, about moving forward and letting go. The characters (Savannah and Ash) are great and bring warmth and even humour to the story. The best thing is that it isn't just a romance but is a bit of a thriller and has plenty of secrets to go around.
The story flowed, it wasn't too romantic or too scary, it was easy to read and I really enjoyed it.
A great read for those who aren't big romance readers as it had a bit of everything in it.
Another fab book from Mandy Magro! Well defined characters with a descriptive narrative that drew me in the story and I just couldn't put it down. Part romance, part mystery - this is a must read.
Trust, truth, friendship and honesty are central themes of Savannah’s Secret, Mandy Magro’s latest Australian rural romance. Savannah Garret, a.k.a. Kayla Robinson, and Ash Sullivan are both strong and appealing characters, who gel as soon as they meet though Savannah is carrying a huge secret, which she fears revealing. This made for plenty of sexual tension and quite a bit of angst for these two. I loved it! Also appealing was the far North Queensland setting with the lush gardens of Silverton Station. I get the sense that author Mandy Magro loves her garden as plants seem to feature in her books as a source of calm for her characters. That was certainly the case in this story and it really resonated for me because I love my own garden. While I thought the dialogue in this story was not always natural I loved the story and the way it was told. It had all the feels of a Queensland love story and, while I could do without the midges, I was more than happy reading this book.
Mandy Magro never disappoints me with one of her stories, I love visiting the outback towns and meeting the fabulous characters that she brings to life on the pages, and this time we meet Savannah and Ash both have been through the ringer so to speak and now is it time that they find true love and happiness in a great small town in the outback, with some awesome pets to get to know.
Kayla Robinson is starting a whole new life as Savannah Garret after testifying in a court case to see a murderer go to jail, a kingpin in the underworld who took the life of her best friend, she is a city girl and starting fresh with secrets that will have to be kept forever is not an easy task, but she has a job in the pub at Blackwater Queensland and is going to do what she has to, too stay safe looking for love is not on her radar, but her first meeting with local Ash Sullivan has her heart fluttering.
Ash Sullivan is good looking well respected and owner of a property and a successful business he is doing well except for the one thing that he has always desired a partner someone to love and a family. He has learnt from past experiences that keeping secrets is not good for any relationship and honesty is one his most important needs and when he meets the new barmaid in town there is a pull towards her and as they get closer their friendship grows but he has a feeling she is keeping secrets.
I loved both Savannah and Ash, Ash the best gentleman, caring and loving and Savannah shows such strength after all she has been through and their hearts are melded together but secrets can break them apart, but when danger arrives in town Ash is there for her and nothing will keep them apart now. This is fabulous story that I highly recommend filled with emotions it is heartwarming and moving a sensual story of two people who deserve love and happiness. Oh I did love Pork Chop you will have to read the book to meet Ash’s wonderful pet. Thank you Mandy Magro for another fabulous story.
My thanks to Harlequin AUS for my copy to read and review
Another great book that has you hoping it all works out for the lead character! Mandy Magro writes characters, and location, beautifully, and you can really picture the characters, as you get to know them well. The difficult pasts of the characters make this book different from many of the other romance books where everything is (almost) always rosy. It's a great read, a page turner, and at times very real.
Savannah Garret is determined to see her best friend’s killer go to jail, Jimmy Biloti is a dangerous man and despite him being locked up and she may never feel safe. The detectives working on the case assure her with her new look, identity, and moving to a country town and she will be perfectly fine. After a long bus trip she arrives in Blackwater Queensland and makes her way to the pub. Here she meets her new boss Jacko, his daughter Jessie and Savannah's the pubs new barmaid.
Ash Sullivan has worked hard, he owns his own property Silverton Station and runs a chopper mustering business. He’s been very unlucky in love, years ago he had his heart shattered and he has no one to share his beautiful property with. All the single ladies in Blackwater have been trying to get his attention since he arrived and have had absolutely no luck. The accommodation at the pub is pretty basic and Ash has an empty renovated cottage on his property; he offers Savannah a place to live, here can she truly relax and feel safe? Ash and Savannah are very attracted to each other, she can’t tell anyone about her true identity and not even the man she falls head over heels in love with.
Savannah’s Secret is a story set in a small Australian country town, the local characters are likeable and extremely funny, and it has elements of romance, suspense and danger. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and four stars from me.
This is another enjoyable rural romance from Mandy Margo. It contains it all; suspense, drama & romance.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy.
This fabulous story is set in the outback and teases the reader with romance, drama, sadness and hope for finding true love!
Savannah’s starting her life over in a small country town. Working in the pub is the perfect place to heal and make new friends. Is it possible to believe in love and a happy ever after?
Ash is a wonderful character, full of honesty and with plenty of love to give. A man living the country dream, his past has left scars, is a family going to be in his future?
I loved the characters in this book, Savannah and Ash have both lived with too much sadness and deserve a happy ending!
Mandy Magro, congratulations on another wonderful journey of romance and new beginnings, definitely looking forward to your next book!
