4.25⭐

Save Her Child the third book in the Jericho and Wright series is an intriguing read. That brilliantly blends three storylines together, including the possible suicide of an upstanding member of the community, the beating of a young girl and a terrified woman who goes into labour at the state fair and refuses to provide Dr Wright with any details of who she is and where she came from. And it was enthralling to read.

Furthermore, it really kept me guessing and with the introduction of new VCU team member Naomi Harper and plenty of twists I was hooked.

And I really can't wait to read more from these characters in the future.

Would recommend.

In the 3rd book in the series Dr Leah Wright and Detective Luka Jericho join forces to solve 2 crimes. Leah is at a fair when she spots a pregnant woman about to give birth. The woman seems scared and will only give her first name, Beth. Meanwhile Luka is called to an apparent suicide.
Although this book is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.
It was enjoyable with all loose ends tied up in a surprising climax
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own

Twists and turns will keep coming at you as Luka and Leah and now Harper (great edition to the team with her ever so crazy dysfunctional family) try and find out who Beth really is and who is she afraid of .

They are still juggling the case of the man found murdered in his garage.

So many secrets, so many lies.

The pages turn quickly.

I love seeing how Leah and Luka and now Harper will continue to develop in this great series.

Can't wait for book 4. First in line again.

Don't miss this series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for another great book in the Jericho and Wright Thrillers.

Save Her Child is the third book in the Jericho and Wright series by CJ Lyons. This series just keeps getting better and better, love the characters and in each book it seems we get to know them better. This book had lots of suspense and a big twist at the end. Thank you Netgalley for this arc.

I struggled a bit to get into this one, perhaps because this is the third in a series, and I haven't read the first two. The author really knows her stuff, and this gritty police procedural is realistic and very well researched. I did find it somewhat confusing at times and a little heavy on the details. I would have preferred a little more human drama.

The second installment in the Jericho and Wright Thriller is just as thrilling as the first one. They race to catch a killer and a scared woman with a newborn. You’ll never be able to guess how things all tie together. CJ Lyons never fails to create a nail biting, edge of your seat read that won’t let you go till finished!

This is the third book to feature Detective Jericho and Dr Wright, with the addition of a new character Detective Harper, and it's every bit as enjoyable as the previous two. It's well written with an interesting plot and good characterisation. It moves along at a steady pace with good twists and family secrets exposed, keeping my interest until the end. CJ Lyons is an author I would recommend. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this absorbing book

wow right from the first page its go go go with a baby about to be born at the funfair and a dead body turning up elsewhere

it seems that life isnt slowing down for luka or leah

naomi harper is newly qualified detective in lukas unit, she is estranged from her religious family but hopes that with time things will improve and she will get praise from her reverend father, but before long she is soon disillusioned of that when her work and family life clash

brilliantly written and the pace is fast, never a dull moment with plenty of twists and turns that leave you wanting more

cant wait for the next book in this brilliant series

Great continuation to the Jericho and Wright series!

Luka and his mentee, a new detective named Naomi Harper, are called to the scene of an apparent suicide. Everything seems ok until the distraught widow shows up, blurting out confusion about why was her husband found in the garage and not at the river. It doesn’t make sense to Luka until a former DEA agent shows up and says that the victim once faked his death in Denver. To further complicate matters, Naomi’s father, a reverend and a lawyer, shows up to console and protect the widow.

Meanwhile, Leah, her daughter and Luke’s nephew are attending the county fair, hoping to win blue ribbons. Before the ribbon ceremony Leah sees a very pregnant woman in distress, and as a doctor, rushes to help. The woman goes to the hospital, has her baby, but won’t give her name. Then she and the baby disappear suddenly and it looks like Naomi’s father is involved in this matter, too.

I don’t do spoilers, so that’s all I’ll say without giving anything away. I did like learning more about Naomi and her tumultuous younger years.

This was a good book, clean, well-developed characters and enough plot twists to keep you interested. I enjoy Ms. Lyons writing style and her stories never disappoint. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

An addictive story about secrets and lies, this was a really great read with a compelling narrative.
I would like to add that although this is the 3rd book in the series it is still quite possible to read it as a standalone.

Following the points of view of Leah, Luka and Naomi, I personally really enjoy how you see the characters develop as the case also develops. Although I loved the friendship relationship between Luka and Leah I have to say Naomi was definitely a favourite.

There were lots of twists and turns and it was really interesting to try and figure out what happened and who had any motivations to do what.

I thought it was really well thought and really interesting and will definitely read the previous and future books in this series.

I would like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Save Her Child, the third novel to feature Detective Luka Jericho of the Cambria City, Pennsylvania PD and crisis intervention doctor Leah Wright.

Leah finds a woman in labour at the county fair. The woman admits to be called Beth but is so terrified she won’t give any more information, so Leah turns to Luka Jericho for help, but he wants a trade and asks Leah to interview the widow of a recently murdered man who is not being straight in her answers or reactions. The link between the two cases is the Reverend Harper, father of the newest member of Luka’s team, Naomi.

I thoroughly enjoyed Save Her Child which is a compulsive tale of secrets and wrongdoing with some good twists and a clever plot. The novel is told from three points of view, Luka, Leah and Naomi, but in terms of plot development and characterisation Naomi is the star as she is the thread that holds the narrative, if not the case, together, all while solving her first solo homicide investigation. I really like her attitude and the way she navigates a troubled upbringing and family problems to stay true to herself and her beliefs. More please.

The plot is interesting throughout with several strands, most of which ultimately come together for a clever picture of crime, greed, betrayal and hubris, and, perhaps, a misguided understanding of love. It all gets a bit complicated in the middle with questions about who did what, who knew what, what are the links between the characters and what motivations are driving their actions, although it’s never incomprehensible and the solution is neat in tying them all together and still manages to throw in a few more twists. It’s very entertaining.

Save Her Child is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

I havent read the first two books in this series but had no trouble keeping up or figuring out what was going on. Im definitely going to check those out as I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and I really want to know what happened to them in previous books.
.
I was hooked from the beginning, and it was a page turner I didn't want to put down. I love Luka and Leahs friendship and working relationship.. Also Leahs daughter and Lukas nephew are best friends and its super cute.

When Luka gets called to an unattended death, that looks like a suicide, or is it?.. At the same time Leah helps a woman at a county fair give birth.. She refuses to give any information except her first name and she is afraid that someone is after her and will take her baby.. When she dissapears from the hospital Leah asks Luke to help her figure out where she could have gone.. While going through some survelliance tapes they realize that they know someone in the video, and that person also has a connection to Lukes case as well..

While trying to figure out exactly how these cases could be connected we get some really good twists and turns that I did not see coming.

I can't wait to read the first two books and another other books that come out in this series!

Series : Jericho and Wright Thrillers book 3
Would I recommend it? Yes
Would I read more of this series? Yes
Would I read more by this author: Yes
First off I want to say a huge thank you to the publisher Bookouture , the author C J Lyons , and to NetGalley for inviting me to join the blog tour for this book as well as letting me read and review it. Just like the first book I was back in love with the two main characters and I would have to say that while I love both of them , my all time favorite one is Luka , hands down. And even though I've only read the fist book , I do have the second one to read as well, and while it is a series its one of those series that feels like you can read them as a standalone which is great because I tend to some times read series out of order . This one had a lot going for it and which each page turning I was hooked and setting on the edge of my set , all the time asking myself are they going to find the girl and her new born child, and how connected are the cases. Another thing I loved was the inter action between Emily and best friend Nate,

It's been six months since Dr Leah Wright lost her husband and her life has changed beyond all recognition.  No longer working in the ER of her local hospital Leah now runs their Crisis Intervention Centre as well as helping the police when her expertise is required. This means she can also spend more time with her young daughter, Emily, who witnessed her father’s murder and is still traumatised by what she saw.

Taking Emily and best friend Nate to the final day of the Craven County Fair, Leah is shocked to find a terrified young woman hiding alone and in the final stages of labour. Desperate to help, Leah calls on Detective Sergeant Luka Jericho, asking for his advice and assistance. Working his own complicated case Luka is glad of a chance to find out what his friend and sometime civilian partner would suggest he do to get a grieving widow to open up to him about her recently murdered husband. Happy to help Leah is stopped in her tracks when, by the next morning, both mother and baby have disappeared without trace.

Beginning to work together once again Leah and Luka discover links in both cases to the Reverend Matthew Harper, the father of the newest detective on the Violent Crimes Unit, Naomi Harper. Having struggled for years to gain the respect of her adopted father, Naomi is, for the first time, leading a murder investigation trying to find the killer of a local prostitute known only as Lily. Instructed by Luka to get her father talking she has no idea how deeply involved he might be  .

As the strands of the three cases begin to merge, Luka, Leah, and Naomi, along with the rest of the VCU realise events are beginning to conspire against them. As they rush to find a ruthless killer and a baby fighting for life they know it's only a matter of time before someone else dies unless they can discover the truth within the lies everyone has told so far.

This is the third Jericho and Wright thriller and there is a lot going on! It mixes the problems of home life with a stressful work environment so smoothly that nothing feels out of place and all the main protagonists have their part to play. The three cases are so different and the main perspective changes in each chapter but never once was I confused or unsure of what was happening. There was a very satisfactory denouement but there are things which will, of necessity, appear again in the next book in this excellent series and I for one can't wait!

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. This is an excellent addition to a first class series.

What does a body found in an alley, suicide by a rich man (or is it murder) and a first name only pregnant woman have in common? Do they?
Great page turner, hard to put down! Following Detective Luka Jerico, Detctive Naomi Harper, and Dr. Leah Wright and their families.
Book 3 in the series, and great read as a stand alone, but after reading this book I want to go back and read The Next Widow and The Drowned Women.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an early read of this book for my honest opinion.

DS Jericho and Dr Wright have met under tragic circumstances in the first book and although their relationship was bad in the beginning, they have found they can work very well together and even have become friends.
DS Jericho has to deal with a murder case and a surviving partner who could easily win an Oscar for their performance. Dr Wright is working on a medical case with a patient who is hiding more than they are revealing.
Two separate cases or so it seems in the beginning, but little by little they suspect there is a very strong connection between them.
One cheater is being cheated by another one who is cheating on someone else. I suppose you can guess what it is that drives people to murder and deceit…
Lives clearly do not really matter…
Let’s not forget about detective Harper. A rookie but a force to be reckoned with. While dealing with her own major case, she is like an octopus. Wherever she is needed, she delivers. She certainly is a big asset to the police team.
A great story once again. I had an inkling about one thing but there was a lot where I did not have the slightest idea about who or what and of course a lot where I missed the ball completely. 😊 5 stars

Thank you, CJ Lyons and Bookouture

Luka Jericho and Leah Wright just keep getting better and better! Seriously, this is a series you need to become a fan of (if you aren't already)! Jericho is guiding a new detective in his division, whilst Leah is focused on a new Mom who is protecting her baby from an unknown threat. Naomi Harper has joined Jericho's division - and she brings baggage with her - as she works to solve her first case as lead detective. CJ Lyons alternates voices in each chapter as the characters cases and lives are interwoven together. This is a fabulous addition to the Series... and I cannot wait to for the next installment.

This is the third book in this series. This book is a suspense that has a couple of mysteries going on at the same time. I did like the characters and the plot line in the story. There were lots of twists and turn and surprises and most mystery readers will like this book.
