It was a quick, cute, and whimsical story about Aviana, a daughter who has been neglected by her father and his family her whole life.

Without any true goal in life, about to turn 21, Aviana finds herself alone, on her birthday, and in the middle of a big change she has no control over.

Now, with wings and pointy ears, Aviana finds herself on her way to her mother's hometown, a magic place where happily ever afters come true. And the headquarters of fairy godmother business.

As a fairy godmother herself, Aviana is bound to help others find their happily ever after. However, when Nash, Aviana's big crush, shows up in Los Arboledas and shows interest in her, she sees herself in a pickle.

I really liked the whimsical feel of Los Arboledas and the idea of fairy godmothers. I loved that the fairy godmothers weren't focused only on love, as I was expecting. Some people don't need love, some need free time, others a job, and some a balance between the two.

Also, Ruby and Aviana's friendship was super cute!

This is soooo my type of thing. I really enjoyed the light touch of magic in this book and combined with the excellent characters and pacey plot, it made for a fun read

Oh, how I wanted to like this story! kept giving it chance after chance... But when every page just seemed to pile on something a tad more absurd and/or unbelievable than the last, at some point, it does get tedious. The characterization was also all over the place - Aviana cannot stand her mother, won't go within a hundred-mile radius of her, yet suddenly she is running to that same mother without this seeming like it's completely anathema to what she's been harping on all along. The spin with her being the one with the stepmom and stepsisters also just felt a tad gratuitous, because this had almost no bearing in the tale at all from what I could gather. Really, the potential was there, but the delivery was a little too much on crack for me

3.5 stars. What a cute fairy tale story 🥰 and this cover instantly sold me on the book!

I loved the concept of the story so much but I never really felt like the plot got to its full potential and found that parts of the story were a little slow-moving for my tastes. That being said I still read it in basically one-sitting and couldn’t put it down! I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, light-hearted and magical fairy tale!

Thank you so much to #NetGalley for the ARC. It in no way impacted the content of my review.

What a cute cover and story this is! It’s a Cinderella retelling, which I always like to read. I put a spell on you is a light-hearted and magical romance, which I’d definitely recommend to read! :)

The cover is super cute and a pretty colour, but that might be the only thing I liked about it. It was cute, super fast paced but wasn’t for me.

This book is a Cinderella retelling with a unique take on it - Cinderella is also the fairy godmother. This book is perfect if you are looking for a light read which will give you all the fuzzy fluffy feelings, yet has a lot of feels in it. I am not usually a huge fan of cozy books like this. I love ya contemporary novels, but I prefer it when they deal with all the deep shits, and yet this book was pretty enjoyable and a really fast read. If you are a fan of Cinderella retellings, you might enjoy this.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. This book was just okay. The writing seemed kind of juvenile and would have fit more for teen story plot.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I Put a Spell On You was a very cute romcom to dive into. After all my adventure books, I needed to slow down and dive into something adorable. So when I came across this little retelling - well, I just had to dive into it. Zero hesitations because who doesn't love a good retelling every now and then?

Entering into this world, and getting to know the character, was pretty magical in it's own way. Definitely got Cinderella vibes with the evil stepmonster and stepspawns. Oh I mean.. stepmother and stepsisters - oops? Then there's the handsome prince, ahem - billionaire, who doesn't know who or what an Aviana is.

Well Aviana has some tricks up her sleeves and Nash is nowhere prepared for them all. The romance was pretty cute and now I'm wondering if Prince Charming ever had feelings for the Fairy Godmother. Oh man - I need to re-watch all the Cinderella's now.

In the end, this was a very cute and quick book to devour. I'm very happy that I got the chance to dive into this and look forward to my next little retelling adventure.

This was an interesting and unique romcom with a very small fantasy spin. I thought it was very cute and a very quick read. The idea of it being about real life fairy Godmothers was such a unique concept that I have never heard of being done before.

I rated this three stars because there were times when it felt a little bit slow and while I enjoyed reading it and did love the characters and the world the author created I don't consider this to be a memorable read that I will find myself thinking of in the future.

That being said I would absolutely love to read another book set in the same world. The town and community the author created was so well done and I found myself wanting to visit even though I knew it was fictional.

I would absolutely read another book by this author.

This book is pretty decent but for me, it felt flat and I can't give it more than 3 stars.
I also can't say I enjoy this 100%. Sometimes I get bored and just having a hard time continuing.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!

Meh, I just couldn’t get behind this story. At first the premise intrigued me, a retelling of a well known fairytale. However the actual finished product fell flat for me.

A modern Cinderella retelling with a twist. Aviana is turning 21 and left alone while her family goes to Mexico without her. She complains of headaches and back pain, and has no idea she is turning into a fairy god mother. She leaves LA to go meet her mother and find herself in the new world of fairies and enchanted woods.
A cute story, especially if you love a good fluff book. I’d never think of a modern Princess story, told by the Fairy God Mother point of view. The author did a good job writing and keeping you reading.

I Put a Spell On You was a fun retelling of the Cinderella story through the eyes of the Fairy Godmother. It is fun, cozy, quirky, and smart. Just the get away I needed!

This was not my cup of tea. It was a cute idea. It just didn’t work for me. I can see how other people might want to read and joy this book.

This book was ultimately a DNF for me. I was super interested but a little past half way it became a little too much.
The writing was really good and all but I just think there was a lot going on and it started to feel like it was hard to follow. Also, there was nothing that really sold me on the love interest yet, we just keep being told that Aviena has a crush on him but nothing else.

I was really looking forward to reading this book and honestly I did enjoy what I did read but I just can’t bring myself to finish it because of how much is going on.

This is a cute fairy tale. Not something I would normally read but I still enjoyed. Light hearted story similar to Cinderella however I do like that it has a fairy god mother. Most fairy tales don't cover fairy god mother's.

I didn't really like this story. I liked the concept.... But execution left me unsatisfied. I felt that the main character was incredibly whiny and dull. The romance was weak.
