While I found this book to start off a little chaotically I loved the spin on the classic Cinderella story positioning CInderella as the fairy godmother. This books reminded me a lot of the movie Godmothered. Great pace, quick and enoyable read!

This book is a Cinderella retelling with a unique take on it - Cinderella is also the fairy godmother. This book is perfect if you are looking for a light read which will give you all the fuzzy fluffy feelings, yet has a lot of feels in it. I am not usually a huge fan of cozy books like this. I love ya contemporary novels, but I prefer it when they deal with all the deep shits, and yet this book was pretty enjoyable and a really fast read. If you are a fan of Cinderella retellings, you might enjoy this. Personally, I read this book immediately after reading Cinderella is Dead, and I despised that book. So, reading two Cinderella retellings back to back was not a very good idea. That could be a contributing factor for not enjoying the book as much. But I vouch for it, and I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

I Put a Spell on You was a bit slow, but then it seemed to come to life.

Really enjoyed getting to know the characters and the storyline was enchanting.

Recommend this book and looking forward to hearing about new books by this author.

It's such a cute book, it was a quick read but charming nonetheless.

It is a bit slow-paced and the story itself was missing something I can't put my finger on just yet, but I read it in one go. The main character starts of as not very likeable but quickly turns charming. This book had the feel of a fairy tale Cinderella store with some twists.

I Put a Spell On You is an original and innovative retelling of the much-loved fairy tale Cinderella. Fun and bold characters give the story life. It's the perfect read to get lost in for an afternoon.

Thanks to NetGalley and Inkspell for this ARC!

This book had an interesting premise, and I really liked the spin that the synopsis gave on Cinderella. I love a good fairy tale retelling. Unfortunately, this fell short. I wanted to like the characters, but I found myself more angry at them, or just indifferent during most parts of the book.

I felt it took a long time to get to the actual point of many things, and found myself frustrated more than into the book.

I love retellings! And Cinderella is my favorite princess!

This book was a fun, entertaining read, a perfect one for a cozy afternoon drinking tea!

Definitely something I recommend!

This book is a Cinderella retelling, but from the perspective of the fairy godmother, who has always deserved her HEA.
Aviana, upon turning 21, begins to have headaches and strange bumps appearing on her back. Upon the appearing of a guidebook for fairy godmothers, Aviana finds out not only is she a fairy, but comes from a long line of fairy godmothers. Upon learning this new information, Aviana has some choices to make about the next chapter of her life. Will she choose to give up on being a fairy godmother and return to her normal life or will she embrace her identity and take her place in the world of HEAs?
This book was such a wonderful surprise! The essential elements of the Cinderella story and characters were there. The stepmother, stepsister, fairy godmothers, and of course prince charming. The author did a wonderful job including the fairy godmother rules at the start of each chapter. I loved Aviana as a character! She was so realistically written and showed so much growth in her journey of self discovery and confidence. At the beginning, she had a lot of self-doubt and insecurities, but as she became closer to her mother as well as learning more about her role as a fairy godmother, she really came into her own. Her relationships with her family was heartbreaking at times. I especially was sad for Aviana in regards to the difficulties between her parents and they hard feelings towards each other that caused contentions! The development of a good and supportive relationship between Aviana and her stepsister was truly wonderful. Aviana and Nash had an adorable relationship. Although it had a slow development at the beginning, the end result gave the readers the HEA they needed. The pacing and the writing was well done! Overall, I highly recommend this book to those who have always wanted the fairy godmother to get her own HEA. I can't wait to read more book by this author!

A quick and fun fairytale with a twist, I Put A Spell On You is a sweet romance with just the right amount of lighthearted fantasy. Aviana is a character that grew on me the more I read, and after a slow start I ended up quite enjoying her journey. It doesn't hurt that her Prince Charming was pretty fun to read about too!

Not a groundbreaking romance novel, but a fun way to pass a few hours.

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The main character starts undergoing a strange change on her 21st birthday that she doesn't understand. Turns out she comes from a long line of fairy godmothers and it's finally time for her to claim her powers and become a fairy godmother. For that she needs to reconnect with her estranged mom. Along the way the heroine needs to figure out if she wants to take up the family occupation and if she can also find her own happily ever after.

The story is rather nice and simple. I really enjoyed reading it as a palate cleanser between my fantasy books. There are some inconsistencies and weak point in both plot and writing but I chosen not to pay too much attention to them enjoying the fun idea of an adult finding her vocation and purpose at her own pace..

Aviana has always been the outcast of her rich successful family; a high powered father, an intimidating stepmom and of course, beautiful twin stepsisters. But they are all she has, Aviana is not close to her mother and sees her a burden. When Aviana suddenly sprouts wings on her 21st birthday, nobody but her distant mother knows what to do. Will her family, friends, and love interests accept her being a Fairy Godmother? Wings and all that comes with it?

This is the 3rd Fairy Godmother themed book that I have read this year and I AM HERE FOR IT. This story has some great comedic content and I swear I saw some of these embarrassing moments happening to myself! I enjoyed this read and would definitely recommend. I also could possibly see this book turning into a series much like Fairy Godmothers Inc by Saranna DeWylde.

The criticism I have for the storyline would be that I would have liked a rivalry between Aviana and Zara to play out more. I felt the wickedness toward the end of the book was somewhat rushed and could have developed way more than it did. It was mostly an afterthought to the underlying love story for me. There was more opportunity for a villain.

Thank you Sarah Vance-Tompkins, Inkspell Publishing, and Netgalley for keeping me wishing for a Fairy Godmother with this ARC

I Put a Spell On You is a Cinderella story with a twist. What if you grew had an "evil" stepmother and stepsisters that make you feel invisible and unimportant and a crush on a cute guy that's a billionaire and comes from a wealthy background. To then find out you're a Fairy Godmother with a guidebook, wings, and pointy ears.

This book made me more emotional than I expected it to. Aviana's life at the beginning of the book made me feel for her. Her self-doubt and insecurities made me honestly cry.

Aviana was lost at the beginning, not knowing who she really was and what she wanted in life. She knew she liked helping people and I enjoyed that we got to see her find herself and love herself.

Overall, it was a cute romance between Nash and Aviana, but it felt a little slow-moving in my opinion.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a sweet, light-hearted romance.

This book was sweet with a gentle sprinkle of magic. Rather than Cinderella falling in love with Prince Charming, in this book, the fairygodmother falls in love with the hero. The book was a feel-good book but not very special beyond that and did not provide me the zing or joy that I usually get when i read books.

Unfortunately, I had a really hard time connecting with the heroine in this book from the very beginning. I found it really odd that she had virtually no dreams, aspirations, goals in life. The only thing she wanted was "to belong to something or someone special." Which is nice and all, but doesn't feel very realistic. It feels very "high school" maturity level. I am a very high-drive person, who, while not being super passionate about a lot of things, has goals in life. I can't imagine wandering around aimlessly, waiting for life to happen.

I think the book had a good premise, and were it marketed as a YA book, it might work. Just didn't feel like an adult romance, and I think the storyline wasn't meant for my age group. Writing also needed to flow better, as it sometimes read like it lacked editing.

So this is a light-hearted story with elements of both self discovery and romance. A Cinderella-like character that learns that she comes from a long line of Fairy Godmothers through her estranged mother's side. Plus a love interest. Should be fun and interesting.

Unfortunately it also has plot holes you could drive a Mack truck through. I wanted to like this, and the idea is great, but it just never got off the ground.

The main character isn't likable enough to really hook the reader and there's just no explanation for why she's not allowed to date/fall in love as a fairy godmother. It's just a big no-no. I appreciated that there was a much bigger focus on "helping people make their dreams come true" being about more than just finding your "true love" but it wasn't enough to redeem the book completely.

That said, if you aren't a particularly critical reader, you might still enjoy this story. Maybe.

I received this as an ARC through Netgalley. It was a cute story that follows Aviana’s journey from panic at discovering that she is a Fairy Godmother to joy at the possibilities this will present her with. Of course there is a wicked witch and Prince Charming thrown in for good measure. This is a book I would have purchased to read.

Avians is having the worst birthday ever. Her family has completely forgotten it and her crazy. estranged mother keeps calling. When she gets a weird gift, she has to figure out what it is.
She ultimately decides to go visit her mother. There she learns she is a fairy godmother, from a long line of them. Avians must make her way through the tasks given to her so she can become a full fledged fairy godmother. Along the way, she battles with being in love while knowing godmothers don’t marry.
Opinion
This book is absolutely adorable. It is a perfect romance for those who like sweetness but not spicy. Anyone who likes fairy tales will also enjoy this. I personally would love to see this become a series as she works her way into full FGM society.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

This was not really my cup of tea. I tried to like it, but the writing was not really my style. It felt choppy and forced at points.
