he Kings of a Kearney, by Navessa Allen, had all the makings of a great MC contemporary romance. I really liked Krista. I enjoyed seeing such a strong woman who didn’t need saving from a man. She could take care of herself. I liked that Jakob was there for her but didn’t treat her like some fragile female. The writing was really good, and the story had substance, but yet the ending was so rushed that I felt left down. I’m thinking there must be a sequel? I feel there is a lot of story left to tell, so hopefully we can continue on their journey!
Thank you to NetGalley and Navessa Allen for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.
Great MC Read. This is the story of Krista, a medically discharged ex US Armed Forces, now bartender at a biker bar and Jakob 'The Viking' also ex military now enforcer for the Kings Of Kearney MC. This is full of action both inside and outside the bedroom and if you like MC Romance you are guaranteed to love this. Rating 3.5 stars
Krista is the newest bartender at a biker bar. A military veteran she’s no shrinking violet and seems to have caught the eye of the enforcer for the Kings MC. Jakob, the Viking, is an alpha male to the core and know what he wants ( just a hint, it’s Krista), but all is not what it seems. Their relationship starts off with a jolt but there’s so many twists and turns that develop that it’s not the typical MC story I was expecting, it’s so much better! Yes there’s plenty of steamy scenes (get your fan ready) and tough MC men, but this an intriguing subplot as Krista and Jakob investigate the goings on at the local nursing home, which happens to be where Krista’s grandma stays. The action keeps you guessing as you don’t know who’s good and who’s bad. Both lead characters are great, with strong personalities but the secondary characters, like her grandma, are just as wonderful. The author blends heat, humor, suspense, with a hint of tenderness that you just can’t stop reading, fingers crossed that there’s more of the Kings to come. 5 stars, must read. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.
Wow, look behind the usual alpha biker romance and this is a really good mystery too. Even the tough guys have a softer side. Jakob and Krista story should be the first of many in the Kings MC series.
A nice action packed hot and steamy biker romance. I love anything with bikers. They are my weak spot, so i had to read this story and it did not disapoint.

I greatly enjoyed this one in the beginning, but then the story lost its momentum. I started just skipping around to finish the story. The ending was perfect - ended in the way I hoped it would.
Hello hawt cover alert! I took a chance on this one because the blurb seemed a little funny but this book didn’t disappoint.
What did I like? Well the heat level between Jakob and Krista was sweltering but the story itself sucked me in. I thought it did an amazing job with the amount of heat versus an actual story line so much that I’d definitely read more by this author.
Would I recommend or buy? If your into MC books then this is for you. Krista thinks Jakobs a modern caveman and his tactics can make you blush. Five stars for a hot MC book!
I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review! Five steamy stars!
Color me impressed. Not only did we get hotness from Jakob and Krista, we get some mystery and danger and attitude all in one book! Jakob is playing games and doesn’t seem to care if he hurts Krista. Krista is trying to figure it all out, but with limited info and liars all around, can she really come to the right answers? The lead-up to each catalyst in their story kept me wanting more and made me want to lose sleep just to find out how all of the pieces fit together.
Thanks to the twists woven into the road to “us” for Krista and Jakob, I’m seriously hoping for more from this author and this town. I’d happily revisit these characters if another book came along after this one!
Over the past year I have been discovering my not so guilty pleasure for contemporary romance novels. The Kings of Kearny is the first Biker Gang trope novel I have ever read.
I'm giving this novel 3 stars because it is a non-stop, action filled, steamy thrill ride with some genuine heart warming moments too. I appreciated that our main characters, Krista and Jakob are not the cliché contemporary protagonists; I also liked that Krista's chronic pain is not a fleeting element of the story and rather has an impact on the whole narrative, with Krista always factoring in her long-term injury whilst also not letting it hold her back. Jakob is also written rather well for a male love interest. Whilst still allowing for a broody, protective, gang-member love interest, he is still respectful and most of the time does not underestimate or pander to Krista.
Cons:
The beginning of the book was really strong but the last 25% of the book started to get a bit sloppy, the most important part of the resolution and what would have been the action filled climax happened off-page and this felt very lazy and disappointing.
Towards the end of the novel, Krista's decision feel like they are being made for her by Jakob and this once stubborn, strong female character dissolves into a puddle of lust and pining for Jakob that felt out of character.
Although the pacing of the book is one of it's strong points, most of the novel takes place in just over a week, whilst I wouldn't necessarily say the book was guilty of 'insta-love' there is definitely an element of 'insta-trust'.
At times the writing and dialogue could be a bit gimmicky, especially pertaining to Krista's previous career.
Ok this book is really hard for me to review, the book and its storyline was awesome! It had suspense, intrigue, action, drama, heart pounding moments! And it was hot!! But!! Its all done from her point of view?! Omg it drove me crazy not to know what he's thinking?! I absolutely hate that!! I was going to give it three stars because of this but the book was really good even besides not hearing from him! It really was a good MC book! It would have been close to the best book ever if it had his point of view!! I'm still upset about that lol thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
