I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. Wow what can I say about this title it was just an awesome read. This book was just something so wonderfully different I’ve never quite read anything like this. You should read to find out you won’t be disappointed. I’m definitely going to read more by this author.
I love this series and was not disappointed with Rebel's Karma. Benny is such a cool character and we have seen him grow over the years with his nephews and others. It was great to finally get his story and Karma is the perfect balance for him. While she has had a hard life, it has not hardened her against life and love. The battle with the Kurjans and Cyst continue as well, with some surprises thrown in. I'm looking forward to Sam's then Garrett's stories before Hope finally gets hers. Highly recommended.
Benny may be centuries old but he has never really got the swing of adulting it appears. Even as one of the Seven, he seems to have kept his eccentric sense of humour and flare of irreverence!
Unbelievably his "R" family crest appeared on his palm when he was smack in the middle of a rescue mission. Activated by a Kurjan soti,a former enhanced human known as Karma. She refused to leave with them, fearful for what would happen to those in her care. For 3 years Benny has looked for her. It looks like his hard work finally paid off.
Karma may not be their biological mother, but she has taken over the care of two little girls, kidnapped after their mother was killed by the Kurjans. Only the mating allergy has kept Karma safe from being re-mated in the centuries since her husbands death. But she has been given by the leader of the Kurjans, one she CANNOT refuse. But it means she'll be free of the mating allergy and it'll be open season on Karma!
Karma is really an anachronism, With her manners, long skirts and prim and proper demeanour she is polar opposites to loud, obnoxious, forceful Benny. I enjoyed how she tempered his rashness and he brought her out of her shell, showing her all the things she could do, within her safe zone, rather than lambasting her for all the things she wouldn't/couldn't do. The camaraderie between the Seven is so strong it leaps off the page at you and you see how it is also affecting Karma, empowering her.
All the fakenews that Karma has been exposed to is a menace! The interactions with Emma were hilarious!
There are a slew of new characters to love to. Especially one very introverted, brainiac Kurjan. I cannot wait to see what happens with him! Your heart will melt at this big, bada%% soldier thinking he's too scary for a pair of toddlers.

I thought this was a good addition to the series. It could be read as a stand alone, but definitely helps to have read the rest of the series. Karma was a good combination of weak/strong and Benny was able to tread that line between being stoic and learning to love.
First let me say that I was so excited when I saw this book. I love everything by Rebecca Zanetti. But Dark Protesters is my favorite. I am so excited that Benny finally gets his story. Karma was an amazing character. She has such a horrible background and it was wonderful to watch her open herself up. We not only get to see the Seven and their mates, we also get to catch up with Dage, Emma, Talen, Hope, Pax , Max, Sarah Bear and Nessa. I came wait to see who shows up next ams I really hope that Sam’s book is next. The only thing that confuses me ( mostly because I can’t see how it will end) is the Hope / Pax / Drake story line. I honestly can’t tell who is going to end up with you. Although I loved Drake’s cousin Vero and I really hope that he gets his own story. ( maybe with Libby ) This is a wonderful addition to one for my favorite series.
Rebel's Karma is the latest book in the Dark Protectors series. While it could be probably be read as a standalone, the story arc continues from past books and a lot of the context will be hard to understand without reading the rest of the stories in the series. Benjamin Reese, the craziest member of the Seven, knows someone has to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the world and it just as well as be him and he has no intention of leaving a mate behind. Karma is a widow of a Kurjan soldier, an enemy of the Seven, and a spy under duress and Benny's fated mate. Fate draws them together as the war between the warring nations threaten to tear them apart and Karma learns to fight for what she wants. Steamy and sweet, the story is fast, paced and totally addicting and Benny is definitely the perfect book boyfriend for another winning tale in the Dark Protectors saga. This reader cannot wait for the next installment. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
I received an e-ARC from Kensington Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This story is about Benjamin Reese and Karma (last name unknown). It takes place 3 years after they first meet and Benjamin has a mating mark from that meet. He has been looking for Karma the entire time and this is about him trying to find and save her from the bad guys-Kurjans. The bad guys want to find Karma because one of the Kurjans is infatuated with her to the point of obsession.
I really enjoy this series and all of the mated couples that are intertwined within the story. The world building and plot twists can take place over several books so I wouldn't call any of the books stand alone but you can read and still enjoy without reading the other books. I did find that Karma annoyed me at times when she wouldn't stand up for herself. Eventually, I came to like her and she was able to grow throughout the book.
The book also has a couple of side stories that I believe will take place in the next few books of the series. I would recommend reading them in order to enjoy the full world that author has built.
This book is for anyone who loves the immortal warriors with mates, lots of action and steamy love scenes.
Absolutely gripping, from the first page to the last! I found myself thinking about the characters long after I’d finished, wondering which secondary character would be next to get their happily ever after. I love getting snippets about Hope and her friends throughout the series and can’t wait for her to grow up and finally get her own story. This is such a good series and I’m always amazed how there is never any repetition - each couple is so unique and their story fresh and original. I really can’t recommend this book and series highly enough!
This is one of those books that I had to get back to as soon as possible. I would put it down to do things around the house but any time I had a few minutes I was on my butt devouring Ben and Karma's story.
It has been three years since Ben first came across Karma. He has been searching ever since. He has done some really whacked things to try and find her.
He hasn't given up. But when he finds her does he really have her. She has secrets. She has been put in a horrible place. It is a shame she didn't share with Ben. But then again it would have made for a so-so story.
Instead the reader gets edge of the seat drama. The attacks are dangerous and graphic. The reader will be blown away with all the explosives. I don't know why they try and plan anything. It never goes the way they think it will. Great for the reader that likes to snicker, not so great for the character.
I loved Ben's determination to keep his space from Karma. Shouldn't her name have given him a hint? What was he thinking? I had to question his plans on more than one occasion.
The Dark Protectors never disappoint. I love watching the tough guy crumble. Ben falling for two adorable little girls was the best. Total Kodak moment.
Another excellent addition to this series. Benny picked my interest several books ago and I’m glad we finally got his story. Karma is wonderful balance to Benny’s personality. Smoking scenes between the two. And the mystery deepens on what is going on with the younger generation. I can’t wait for Garret’s book.
I can not say how much I love this series! Each book brings us a new story unique to the couple while furthering our investment in the world Zanetti has gifted us with. Benny and Karma having an amazing story and loved reading it.
You think that by book thirteen (not counting all the Realm Enforcers or all of the accompanying novellas) these would start to get stale or old... and they never do! Honestly, I devoured this in 24 hours.
I wasn't that excited for Benny and Karma - mostly because I want Sam and Garrett - but this was completely amazing! Just amazing. Both of them are older immortals which was a fun change so they both were that much more mature and thought of the consequences of their actions. I loved their found family feeling as well as Karma coming into her own and learning to trust - her independent arc was just as awesome as their chemistry and I was really frustrated with her in the beginning but by the end, she was a lot of fun. It was also nice to see Benny have more depth than he had previously had.
As for the side stories - Hope/ Paxton/ Dayne seems a lot less clear than their parent's generation which is fun and both Sam and Garrett's books have the potential to rip my heart out. And I am here for it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is a continuation of the Guardians series. Bennie's story is amazing. There is plenty of action, love, family and snippets of the other Realm characters. You'll see Benny and Karma grow closer while facing extreme challenges. Job well done.
Trigger warnings: mentions of rape, physical abuse and mental.
Many of us have loved Benny ever since he first appeared. Described as the “crazy” one, he has stolen our hearts not just by being the most light hearted of the Seven, but with his willingness to put the others first. He is jocular, playful, and always knows how to make others feel at ease, but he has moments of depth and wisdom while also hinting at a deep sadness.
Karma was an intriguing contradiction. Her core self seemed to be a strong backbone, a mind that thought for itself, and a heart of bravery and kindness, but on the surface she appeared weak and far too meek. A deeper look showed that 200 years with the Kurjans taught Karma something every parent of a toddler learns- to pick your battles. She used that mind to realize that lying low was crucial for survival but she also had the courage to put herself in danger to help others, whether it was a prisoner or an orphaned child. Her compass of right and wrong was not skewed by her environment. Even when believing the Realm and Seven to be evil, she didn’t justify the actions of the Kurjans. Ben was exactly what she needed in a man. He lightened her and balanced her serious nature.
The series plot containing the Seven and Ulric progressed very little in this installment, but it is definitely not light on action. We also get a better picture of the Kurjan nation. I’m sure I won’t be the only reader anxiously awaiting the next book.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a long running series, and although you can read it as a stand alone, I think it best to read them in some order. There are a lot of characters in her world and it can be very confusing. That being said this is Benny's story and he finally captures Karma. I liked this book, but didn't love it. I am confusing by some of the subplots going on so that was a distraction for me. Hope/Pax/Drake confuse the heck out of me...?? What is up with them?? I still thoroughly enjoyed the book. I am hoping that Sam is next. 4.5 stars.
Rebel's Karma is the latest installation in Rebecca Zanetti's paranormal Dark Protector series and it is an absolute joy to read. Benjamin Reese is a crazy ancient vampire who's been allowing demons to capture him for three years in his hunt for his future mate, Karma. The story begins with their reunion and it's a page-turning romantic adventure straight out of the gate. Classic Zanetti.
Benny is the epitome of hotness, a strong, sensitive gentle giant, and Karma with her core of steel, is equally brave and committed to those she claims hers. Their chemistry is perfect, and there's plenty of action and intrigue to go along with their steamy story. Plus, we get to see many of our past Dark Protector friends.
While Rebel's Karma is a standalone story of Benny and Karma's meet cute, the series has an underlying thread that progresses with each book.
In Zanetti’s thirteenth Dark Protectors book Benjamin Reese rescues a widowed Kurjan Soti. Though she is his fated mate, his loyalty to the Seven makes him determined to fight the desire to mark her his.
Zanetti is a master at bringing a touch of humor to her action packed stories. The tightness of the Seven as a family is woven throughout the story. And the return of many familiar faces gives the reader a sense of homecoming.
The romance between Benjamin and Karma follows a nice slow build. I particularly liked the way he was constantly trying to build up her confidence, self esteem, and fighting skills.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Another one of the Seven bites the dust. Benny and Karma’s story didn’t disappoint!! This book had a lot of unexpected twist and turns. I loved how proper Karma was and then at the end once she realizes she can trust Benny she opens up. I love this world and these characters!!! Great read and super steamy!!
I have been waiting to read benny's book since the first book and I can honestly say it doesn' disappoint. Karma is the perfect foil for benny's crazy she is calm and so sweet, the story line is fast paced and pulls you in you don't want to put it down. I also liked that there were other characters from other books there were a few twists in the book I didn't see coming but I totally loved it and could not put it down. Definitely worth the read.
I was thrilled to read Benny and Karma's story in Rebel's Karma by Rebecca Zanetti. I still have the image in my head from a previous book when Karma released his hand when Benny was trying to get her in a helicopter to help her escape from the Kurjans. Some time has passed since then and Benny has spent the entire time looking for her.
There are so many moments in this book that I cannot reveal and which I thoroughly enjoyed. I will say that at one point, I had to put the book down. I could not imagine where Rebecca Zanetti was taking this story. But, I did finish it and was rewarded with a storyline that was true to this series.
I loved this book and was sorry when it ended. I can't wait for the next one in this series!
