I am a huge sucker for mafia romances with brooding heroes, so I was really excited when I got approved to read Marked. Unfortunately, I guess it just wasn't for me in the end. I was so bored for a majority of the first half, but once I finally got into it, I did enjoy it some more. The first half was slow, but the second half rushed through so much action and steam. I liked getting to see the chapters switch between Anastasia and Dimitry, but I cringed with a lot of their inner thoughts regarding the other person. It also bothered me every time Dimitry called Anastasia "his woman." This phrase was used frequently, so much so that it became over the top, and I just don't understand why she couldn't have just been referred to by her name.

My opinion on this one seems to be unpopular from the other reviews I've read, so although this wasn't a favorite mafia romance of mine, most others love it, which makes it still worth checking out if this sub-genre of romance is something that interests you!

Trigger warning for violence, kidnapping, rape, attempted rape, abuse.

That book felt like a beautiful daydream, like the ones where you envision yourself having a love relationship with a mafia boss and you being his own weak spot.
I devoured the book, the storyline was so easy to follow, although there was a little bit of stretching going on, but honestly there were a lot of positive sides to keep dwelling on this note.
Anastasia was such a sweetheart, she was compassionate, loving and had a big heart, and she was so MATURE, it's not everyday you find a character who doesn't have childish reactions to everything.
Dimitry was one of the best bad boys i've read, and to be honest, you gotta love a man who has a hard interior but with a soft heart.
Overall, i really loved it.

To Whom This May Concern:

I would first like to say that this is the first book of the Russian Sinners series by Eva Winners. This is the first time I am reading a product of Eva Winners. The characters seem to be interconnected due to how the plot was written.

The couple in this book is Anastasia Manciatti and Dimitry Alexeyev. Their relationship was never turbulent in a toxic manner. The couple was introduced through a conflict that Anastasia had gotten into and Dimitry was her knight in shining armor per se. Their love is how I would like to put it as the princess and the pauper, but with a twist. Their connection and conversations was a chef’s kiss. Although this was a mafia romance, there was not a ton of violent scenes that I had to look away the book from.

In this book, Anastasia gets kidnapped and Dimitry is contacted to rescue her. The antagonist chases her throughout the book, while the couple’s love blossoms. Anastasia’s friends get involved in the plot with Dimitry’s “brothers”, which will be the other two books in the series. The author wrote the book well. There weren’t any holes in the book or moments where I thought she was writing to fill some void. The book is written from a dual point of view between Dimitry and Anastasia.

The “romance” scene was steamy. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. There was only two scenes that was explicit, but short. There was dialogue between the characters and descriptions of the act that just made me fan myself. It wasn’t terribly kinky, but just the heat of the moment turned the page on fire.

The ending of the book tied the book together and the character’s conflicts were address. The author wrote the series in a way that leads into the next book.

With that being said, I give the book a 5 out of 5. There was romance, plot, and some cliche but who doesn’t love that.

With thanks.

Loved this mafia romance! Mafia romances are some of my favorites to read and this one definitely did not disappoint. This is the first book I have read by Eva Winners and I am now a big fan of hers.

Anastasia is in trouble and the only person her father can think of to help her is Dimitry and his brothers. In the beginning, Anastasia is very thankful to be saved but does not want to stay away from her family but the more times she spends with Dimitry and his brothers she starts to care about all of them. The relationship is slow to start but once it does it is amazing. Lots of great action, suspense ans twists in this book. I cannot wait to read the others in the series.

Anastasia and her friends are touring Europe before starting work after college. While in Russia, she is kidnapped. Her father convinces Dimitry to find and rescue her. Once he does, he must keep her safe until Boris, the one who had her kidnapped, is found.
This is the first book in this series.
Opinion
Hold onto your hats with this book. It is certainly a good ride. I personally love mafia books and this one did not disappoint. Though a bit bloody, the body count was not as high as a normal mafia book. There is an unexpected twist at the end that will have you hanging your mouth open.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Well done!

Fast paced with great twists! Insta-love, action and emotion abound. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for the rest of the books.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

At first, I was getting a bit irritated with the singing and cringey moments with the girls. But I got over it because I was hooked since Anastasia got kidnapped. C'mon! No epilogue with Dimitry and Anastasia's future or their children or something like that. And Vlad's still out there. The girls didn't reunited? Why? I felt like after sending Nikolai and Sergei to rescue Olivia and Scarlett, Anastasia just completely forgot she had friends. I loved this book till the last chapter but at the end I was so disappointed not getting what I wanted. Specially the girls reunion. I had high expectations. Not that the book was bad or something. Because it's good. Like I said I only had two complains but I guess I'm gonna get those in the next books. It's just I'm not interested in Olivia or Scarlett's book. I only liked Anastasia. Anyway, the steamy scenes were hot! This book is totally safe with no cheating. Anastasia was a virgin and Dimitry was celibate for a long time. And there're some violent scenes too. I was expecting more though.

My first journey into a world of Eva Winners making, and I can tell you it’s definitely one I’m going to take again .

This series is out of this world.
Tense, slightly disturbing, gritty, harrowing, stormy, romantic, emotional and satisfying.
If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know, you better read it yourself.

If I had to round it up to one word.
I’d say it’s Outstanding!

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Okay so I feel like I’m swimming against the tide here. All the reviews for this book at the time of writing this are 4 and 5*.

Firstly it wasn’t all bad for the most part I liked both Dimitry and Anastasia plus both Nikolai and Sergei. I didn’t spend enough time with Olivia and Scarlett to know about them.

My problem was I didn’t need to be told constantly that Dimitry doesn’t think he’s good enough for Anastasia. Once yes, twice...maybe in case the reader isn’t concentrating. But not all the time it drove me nuts.

Other than that I liked Dimitry.

Anastasia. I struggled more with her. Most of the time she came across as a well educated well mannered young lady. Yes she made a mistake early on. Which when you discover her past is even more jaw dropping. But I let that slide.
Then there was the moment where she’s considering going after her fiends herself. She’s in a foreign country, with no money she doesn’t speak the language and she’s just been rescued herself.
Then we have the TSTL moment. Yes we knew it was coming but still it’s hard to read. For a long while now I’ve either been very selective about my books or very lucky. Or a bit of both but I haven’t come across a stupid female in a long time. And the annoying thing is she’s not actually stupid so why make her act like she is?
Is this harsh?
I used o be more tolerant but the older I get and the more I read the less patience I have. You might think it’s harsh but it spoilt the book for me.

I absolutely loved this book! I've never read a mafia book before, but I might be hooked now.
I was a bit doubtful at the beginning, I was expecting Dimitry to be one of those characters thats can't stop thinking about sex, boy was i wrong! His character is amazing, I love his backstory with his brothers, how he has a soft spot for everyone he loves and would do anything for them.
Anastasia is also an amazing character, there was not a single thing I disliked about her, she has a beautiful personality and is not annoying at all. There are no stupid actions just because, everything comes together flawlessly. The secrets and the twists made me not want to put this book down!
The chemistry between Dimitry and Anastasia is very well written, the steamy scenes are absolutely amazing and did not disappoint!
I'm extremely excited and can't wait to read about the other characters.

A really great read!

I lost track of all the guys names for a minute in the beginning of the book, but it all got straightened out.

This is definitely an insta lust/love story, it mostly takes place over the course of a week. It didn't feel that way though. The book is short and fast paced, but for the most part the development of the relationships felt natural. I did guess the "twist" fairly early on in the book, but it didn't change the book for me at all.

Oh wow! This book had me gripped from the start. I like seeing if from both Dimitry and Anastasias perspective and all the turmoil they feel in their hearts.

The book was hard to put down and I loved getting to know all the characters.

I can't wait to read the next two in the series.
