As a busy working mom, I found The Café Between Pumpkin and Pie to be a delightful and heartwarming anthology that perfectly captures the spirit of the fall season. This charming collection of stories centers around a cozy café where love brews alongside delicious treats, bringing together characters from different walks of life as they discover connections and second chances.
Each author brings their unique style to the table, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The stories are filled with relatable characters, engaging plots, and a sprinkle of romance, making it the perfect read for a cozy evening with a cup of tea.
Final Thoughts:
The Café Between Pumpkin and Pie is an enchanting, feel-good collection that’s ideal for moms looking for a heartwarming escape into a world of love and autumn delights. It’s a beautiful reminder of the joy found in community and connection, making it a must-read for anyone wanting to embrace the magic of the season!
This story is set in a town with a host of special characters. Their relationships are intertwined by the three authors to create a great story.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Kensington for my copy of The Café between Pumpkin and Pie by Marina Adair; Kate Angell; Stacy Finz in exchange for an honest review. It published August 31, 2021.
Unfortunately, this ended up being a DNF for me. I didn't realize it was going to head toward erotic or else I would not have requested it. This had the opportunity to be super cute, but wasn't for me.
This title is the third in a series that is sweet and light as can be guessed from the book’s covers. Readers will enjoy some latte and bakery treats (virtually, sadly) and also follow the romances of several characters in this Maine set collection.
Tired of summer? Here is a story that will get you thinking about fall.
Readers will find stories by three different authors. Those who want a read with a bit of magic and nothing v ery bad may well gravitate to this anthology.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for this title. All opinions are my own.
I really loved this book in a new to my series and author. I can't wait to read the next one. The characters and location really add to the plot. This book keeps you guessing until the end
I apprecitate the publisher allowing me to read this book. I found this a really interesting read and the characters are quite engaging. it kept me reading until the end. I highly recommend.
This book was kind of interesting and a good start into the fall season. Romance a little more than Hallmark but not quite Harlequin.
I loved this book!!I love all the authors that contributed to it! Definitely will be reading more if Their works
A magical complications of stories full of romance. Each one engaging and a page turner. Once you open this book, you will not be able to put it down until the very end!
Just look at the cover! If you love fall and you love short stories with a tinge of magic, this is the book for you. Pull it out with your scarves and dive into this cozy cafe.
If you are in the mood for a Fall book I definitely recommend this one!
Once again I have read a book series out of order. This is the 3rd book in the Moonbright Bay series. Although it can definitely be read as a standalone. I don’t usually read book with multiple stories or authors but the setting of this just grabbed me.
All three stories are fairly short with a touch of magic in each one. Such great writing that put me in the fall mood and makes me want to move to a small town! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.
Action packed, emotional roller-coaster filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and thrilling turns. A highly entertaining adventure from beginning to end that was so hard to put down.
I took a chance with this anthology because all three of the authors are new to me. Anthologies are always a great way to discover new authors, and I am so glad that I took a chance on this. I think the best way to give you a little insight into this book is to break it down, so here it goes:
Love Rising by Stacy Finz
This one was really good. They hated one another as teenagers, but as adults, you can just feel the attraction when they are in the same room. Sydney's grandmother passed away, and she can't wait to sell the house and move back to San Francisco. She never considered Moonbright home. However, her grandmother was a smart bird and made other plans. Plans that include a new kitchen and Nick Rossi, who currently owns Rossi Construction, all sorts of feelings come to the surface for them.
Romance on a Tap by Marina Adair
This was the shortest of the three, but just as good as the other two. I will say I did get a little frustrated with this one. While it was good, it was by no means my favorite of the three. I'm not a big novella fan in the first place.
Love Over Easy by Kate Angell
This one was my favorite of the three. From the first line to the last, it had me hooked. Hannah Allen returns to Moonbight just in time to see Hannah Allen in her Bo Beep costume "herding" her triplet nephews, who are all her sheep. Which gives us the most wonderful line in recent book history:
"Bo Peep, you're losing your sheep."
I mean, come on, people, how could you not love a story that has that in it? There was just so much in this one to love. From the conversations to the character development, it had it all. The triplets were so enjoyable as well.
I am not a romance reader, generally, so when I saw this small-town short story collection, I jumped on it, hoping the format would be accessible to a fantasy reader. While there were aspects of each story which I enjoyed, the repetitive use of "scored" (as in "he scored a napkin from the table") ended up making me DNF the book. I am probably not the target audience, but when I read "scored" for the fourth time in one story, I had enough.
Loved reading this book and author. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend her books. Happy reading and enjoy
This is the third installment in the Moonbright, Maine series. Moonbright is a town filled with traditions and magic. This series of stories surrounds a spell that is spoken before midnight on Halloween and reveals the face of your true love in a reflection. Moonbright is such a quintessential small town, and I adore the books set there so much!
Love Over Easy by Kate Angell (2.5/5 stars)
This story was the epitome of insta-love, and I could have enjoyed it if it had just moved at a little slower pace. Hannah Allan is a waitress at her family’s restaurant, the Corner Café. Jake Kaylor is a bad boy from out of town, with a secret heart of gold. When he spies Hannah walking her nephews in the town’s Halloween parade, he’s instantly taken with her. But when Hannah sees someone else’s reflection before midnight, she isn’t sure what to make of their instant chemistry. Their connection was believable… until they decided to get married after only two days. That sort of ruined it for me.
Love Rising by Stacy Finz (5/5 stars)
This story was absolutely adorable! Baker extraordinaire Sydney Byrne returns to Moonbright for her grandmother Stella’s funeral. But she soon discovers that Stella has some plans from beyond the grave. Enter Nick Rossi, Sydney’s high-school crush, with a contract to renovate the carriage house of Stella’s Victorian home into a commercial kitchen for Sydney. Forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance— this combined all the best tropes perfectly!
Love on Tap by Marina Adair (4/5 stars)
I loved this final story in Moonbright! When Mila Cramer was in high school, her friends convinced her to recite the Halloween chant and she saw her love’s reflection. But after their seven-minutes-in-heaven at a party, he spent the next seven years acting like it had never happened. But Mila has never been able to forget that kiss. Now at 25, Mila has returned to Moonbright to help care for her parents, and get answers from her old crush about why he’s ignored her for all these years. This transitioned into Christmas at the end, which made it the perfect fall-to-winter read!
This was a good romance collection that is full of autumn vibes! I would definitely recommend trying it!
I received an e-ARC from the publisher.
I received an eARC of The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie by Marina Adair, Kate Engell, and Stacey Finz from Kensington Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
4 stars! This was a delightful book which is the third in the series. It's a compilation of 3 novellas and it's the perfect fall/Halloween read.
3 stories of love centered around Fall and small town romance. I enjoyed each story for they depicted all the feels of earlier romances rekindled. This time of year when things start getting busy it’s nice to pick up a book of anthologies and not have to follow a plot and complicated storylines. Light reading that will leave a smile on your heart. #NetGalley #TheCafeBetweenPumpkinAndPie
This collection of love stories involves some interesting characters all taking place in the same small town. There isn’t really much conflict between the main characters so they weren’t the most exciting stories. But if you enjoy a sweet Hallmark movie you will enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the authors and NetGalley and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
