This is a children's book that I read to my twin boys. I loved the story in this book, and the pictures in this book is so cute. I loved this book so much. This book is great for toddlers to pre-k. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Sourcebooks Wonderland) or author (Erin Guendelsberger) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
This adorable children’s book is interactive, engaging and perfect for a little pre-bedtime fun. The sloth is super cute and readers will enjoy following along with all the pre-bed rituals. Easy to read aloud, and left our kiddos giggling at times which was fun for everyone!
Nothing is quite so challenging for parents as trying to establish their child’s sleep cycle. Many a parent looks forward to peacefully putting a child to sleep and then having some adult time, only to be thwarted (again).
This picture book tells the story of a sloth who is not (!) sleepy. Will he nod off? Take a look at this delightful, interactive story to find out. Hopefully, it will help put your little one to sleep after they have had the chance to enjoy the text and cute illustrations.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
Can You Put Me To Bed is the perfect toddler book. It is an interactive book, perfect for bedtime. Every parent trying to put a toddler to bed can relate to trying to get this slow moving sloth tucked in at night! This book is a great addition to your bedtime routine. The little sloth follows his bedtime routine, brushing teeth, bath, pjs, and stories but still doesn’t want to go to bed. A challenge parents face every night. The interactive experience shows our sleepy sloth trying everything to stay awake. Great book for a baby shower gift. Fun book for families to share. Thank you Net Galley for providing this book for an honest review.
Not-so-sleepy sloth is not interested in going to bed. Actually, this little sloth is interested in doing everything BUT go to bed. With a creatively interactive story, author Erin Guendelsberger has captured an experience that almost every parent and child will recognize from page one. With moments that allow a child to "interact" with the main character this clever and very true-to-life story is sure to captivate parents and children and hopefully, create sweet dreams for all.
A sweet rambunctious little sloth has no signs of slowing down and dropping off to sleep. The book narrates the nightly routine of the little sloth who at every turn uses every excuse in the book to avoid her bedtime curfew. Readers are prompted to "help" little sloth get her bubbles out so she can settle down and finally drift off to Dreamland. Kids are asked to help dry her hair after her bath, clap off the lights, and sing a favourite lullaby to her, just to name a few. The wee trickster keeps assuring everyone that she is not tired at all. Will she finally succumb to weariness and fall asleep?
The text is simple and the illustrations are large, expressive and adorable. Readers of "Don't Push the Button" and "Press Here" will love this cute, interactive story that is perfect for bedtime. This book also would make a lovely gift. I highly recommend it.
Who doesn’t like sloths? I know I do! This is a fun, interactive book (through imagination) that kids will enjoy reading at bedtime. They will definitely relate to sloth who doesn’t want to go to bed. They will enjoy tapping the right pictures to “help” sloth put his pajamas on, tipping the book so sloth’s stuffed animals will “slide” into bed with him, and clapping his nightlight “on”.
The text is very simple, suited for preschool age children. Like sloth, their eyes will get heavy during their simple night time routines of snuggling their stuffed animals, sipping water, singing a song, and saying, “I love you”.
I received an arc copy from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
Little Sloth is not sleepy. Really. You can make him take a bath, but he still won’t be sleepy. Nope, those pajamas are t going to do it. But while you’re at it, can you sing to him? And rub his back? And get him water.
A perfect bedtime book, parents will laugh at the familiar antics of Little Sloth, and with interactive elements (clap your hands to turn off the lights!) kids will love taking a part in getting him to sleep. Just watch out, he may give your little ones some ideas!
A big thank you to Source Books for giving me early access to Will You Put Me to Bed by Erin Guendelsberger. We loved this one and will be buying a copy when it goes on sale August 7.
Such an adorable bedtime story! I love the interactive way the book is formatted. My daughter loved this! She felt like she was helping put the sloth to bed. She also pulls all the same tricks he did so she was laughing along. Very cute and very appropriate for 3-6 year olds! I have a few sloth loving friends I look forward to gifting this book to!
Can You Put Me to Bed shows the nighttime routine of a loveable and funny sloth who will use any excuse in the book to avoid going to bed. Using interactive language and lots of questions to the reader, the book is engaging for children who will laugh along throughout the journey!
An exuberant little sloth carries so much energy into the bedroom, there is just no way she will manage to drop off – or not without our help anyway. Here we have to choose her pyjamas, tip the book til she's flooded by her cuddly toys, and so on. So whereas some books do the lulling into quiet and ease us towards when our eyes droop too closed to read, this might not quite work like that. In making sure we are active in doing the same routine as our heroine I actually think we'll be too lively, and too aware of what's expected of us. Still, I might be wrong. Either way, children will enjoy the look at a lovely, fun and lively character, whatever time of day it is. There's wonderful craft in the artworks here, too, so a strong four stars. But if it proves too engaging to actually make a youngster somnolent, don't blame me.
This book is so sweet! The perfect little bedtime story, especially for those wee ones who are always finding ways to stay awake. There is a bit of interaction as your child can help the sloth tuck in, choose stuffed animals, sing a lullaby and turn on the night light. Then everyone can fall asleep together! Lovely illustrations too.
