This is a delightful read perfect for romance enthusiasts seeking a lighthearted and emotional tale of self-discovery, second chances, and the thrill of following one's heart, as it expertly weaves together themes of love, trust, and the power of human connection.
Unfortunately, couldn't get into this one. It's presented as being a stand-alone/Book2 in the series, but the fact that is runs parallel somewhat to Book1 doesn't give the leeway to make it a stand alone. The same conflict pestering the first book was here, too (a girlfriend cheating on her bf, in this case the hero of the book).
As such, did not make for an enjoyable read. It marinates in the same cesspool as the first book, and since the first book has its own issues, these just get carried over here and thus spoils the enjoyment for a tale that should, by all accounts, stand alone and exist on its own two feet.
This book was too cheesy for me, and the characters a bit too immature. This might be a result of the fact that they’re in college, but it was tough for me to get past.
After reading and enjoying the first one, I could not get into the rest of the series. I found the books to be repetitive and much like the first so it felt like I wasn’t reading anything new.
This is the second book in the Kiss & Tell Series and it just as fun as the first book Stalling For Time. In this book we get to know Zach a little more and his character really grew on me. So his live interest is Jenna who is tutoring him. The chemistry between these two felt real as it progressed. It was a delight to see them grow into their characters and I’m excited fir the next book. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable read and I am loving this covers.

This one builds off of the first book, but is far superior.
We see the story play out from both Jenna and Zach's point of view which is a good thing. We see what makes each of them who they are and how they got to the point they are at now. But we also see how well they can work with someone else who see's them as a flawed persons, but also is on their side and truly does care of the real them and not just the media image.
Overall I did find myself enjoying this one far more than I did the first one. The characters were more likable and the backstories were more solid. This one was just better in my opinion. Jenna and Zach are two characters that work really well together and call each other out when needed. They really do make a good team, and besides that, they see each other as people and not some idolized or image that needs to be kept in a glass box. Jenna was my favorite character her story was one that was so so good, and then when Zach ended up being a part of it as well it made her start to see things a little differently.
For Zach, he finally started to realize things and figure out what he really wanted and what really mattered in life. It was more than just football even though that is what he loves to do we really see him be more than just a jock in this one.
Umm.... yes please. This series has been a delight. I loved having more of Zach Chamberlain.
We get to fully meet Jenna Peterson. What a delight this character is. She is just what Zach needs after coming off the heartbreak of Emily. She is athletic, smart, and really has already lived quite a life.
Watching her and Zach create their own story together is such a wonderdul ride. Thank you to the author and Netgalley for this advanced review copy.
Enjoyed reading the second book in this series which was written from the perspective of a character from the first book. Was a cute lighthearted read which I flew through.
Despite Zach not being my fav character (because he is a bit of a pompous arse), I enjoyed the tropes in this and Emily and her no nonsense attitude. She took exactly ZERO shit from Zach and it was fantastic.
Took a bit for me to get into but it was a cute story.
The End Run (Kiss & Tell Book 2) by Christy Hayes
Publisher: CAH LLC
Genre: New Adult | Romance
Publication Date: April 12, 2021
The End Run is the second book in the Kiss & Tell series by Christy Hayes. This book is told from Zach's perspective and is tied to the first book, Stalling for Time. I totally read this series backwards, starting with book # 3 and I was able to read each book like a standalone rom-com and put all the pieces together!
I really enjoyed reading The End Run! The story is great and so funny! There are definitely laugh out loud moments. The characters are likable and interesting. This is so worth reading!
I'm so grateful to Christy Hayes, CAH LLC, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed reading this story, although it did feel a bit rushed in parts. I would have liked a bit more details along the way, especially towards the end of the story. Thanks for the opportunity to read this!
What a funny follow on from the first in the series. I was a bit apprehensive as I enjoyed the first book so much.
Zach is a popular jock and Jenna is a high achieving student who tutors those sports students who need a little extra help. When Jenna starts to tutor Zach feelings start to grow.
I really think this is a good laugh a minute book. I found that as the book runs alongside the first book there are elements of the story you are waiting for that to happen. So I was glad once we surpassed it.
Both characters are funny and I surprisingly really liked Zach I hadn't liked him previously. I even had a few emotional moments whilst reading.
I would recommend this book along with the first one. I felt the style of writing is slightly different but it's an easy (predictable ) read. 3 stars
Thanks to netgalley, the publishers and the authors for the advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest opinions.
I really enjoyed The End Run.. I’ve grown really attached to these characters throughout the three books.
The End Run tells Zach and Jenna’s story and overlaps a bit with Stalling for Time. I had just read the first one so it was fun to see the same situations from Zach’s perspective. He grew on me throughout the book. I loved following them through their experience and reading about characters in college, which was a different experience for me.
Golden boy, Zach Chamberlain, isn’t the first jock Jenna Peterson’s tutored with cover-boy good looks, and he won’t be the last. When Zach’s storybook life begins to unravel, Jenna discovers he’s more than just a gifted athlete with a pretty face. This is a good, clean romance.
Enjoyed this series from Christy Hayes. Haven’t really read this author before. Enjoyed it all. Will read more.
This book is fine. But I am not a big fan of the main male MC. He bothered me so mu h in book one and I thought I'd give him a second chance. But his brother is so much better.
Friends, this series just keeps getting better! While I appreciated Emily and Dylan's evolution from best friends to lovers in the first Kiss & Tell installment, Stalling for Time, I appreciated Zach and Jenna's story even more.
Readers may remember Zach Chamberlain as Emily's all-star college football player ex-boyfriend from Stalling for Time. Though he wasn't cast in the best light in that story (to me, he often came across as arrogant and spoiled), I liked that I was able to get his side of the story in The End Run. Hayes does a great job of revealing Zach's emotional side in this book, as well as his strong work ethic, quest for academic perfection, and humble acceptance that, while he's a very gifted football player, he isn't always the best of the best. Though he's the golden boy of Se State, he's definitely more than just a pretty face.
Speaking of the best, I really fell for Jenna in this story! Smart, down-to-Earth, stubborn, and armed with high expectations of both herself and a partner, I would definitely want Jenna as a friend. I also really related to her defense mechanism of pushing others away in an effort to not get hurt, and I loved how close-knit her family is. The backstory on her older brother was touching, and the way she fit in with Zach's family (especially his grandpa) warmed my heart, as well.
Together, I felt like Zach and Jenna were *chef's kiss * perfection. With witty banter, a back-and-forth that definitely kept both of them on their toes, and a knack for bringing out the best in each other, I was rooting for them from the very beginning and loved how Jenna fit into Zach's world, even when she worried she wouldn't. Though I don't always love relationships that move fast, Hayes did a masterful job of showing readers how, sometimes with the right person, things just click into place naturally.
If you're looking for a sweet sports romance (this was my first one, and it won't be my last!), give this one a try! Fast-paced with a lot of heart and even some tear-jerking moments, I read it in one sitting and definitely recommend it! I have already moved into Hayes' novella, Kiss & Make Up, too, and am loving it so far ! My review on that one will be coming soon, so keep an eye out!
In #TheEndRun, #Book2, of this series, Zach gets his story so we can see a bit how things happened in the first book from his side. I enjoyed getting to see his perspective and get his happy ending also as he struggled with what was going on with his life. Along the way, his tutor, Jenna, helped him get through things and became a little more than just his tutor.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kate Rock Book Tours for this eARC in exchange for a honest review.
The End Run is a cute and super clean New Adult romance. The story itself is well done and the characters are loveable. I really enjoyed it. I love that it is part of a series and I am so excited to read more!
