There's a million reasons why i loved this book more because it gave our main character more depth which i really loved.

I loved The End Run even more than Stalling for Time. We got to see things from the end of Stalling for Time, from Zack's point of view. Zack goes through so much growth and love in this book, and Jenna is the perfect person for him. I loved the chemistry between the two of them and how they were able to ind their forever people.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a review. The End Run is a low steam New Adult romance. The story itself is entertaining and the characters are fun.

I enjoyed this book more than I enjoyed the first book in the series. I loved that we got to see the story from Zach’s point of view on events that happened in book one and the chemistry between Zach and Jenna was really cute.

Sort of enemies to lovers romance, super cute and easy read!

I read Book 1 in the series, STALLING FOR TIME last month and enjoyed it so I was happy to continue the series and see what happens to these college kids trying to find themselves and love!

In Book 1, Zach Chamberlain, college football star, gets dumped by his high school girlfriend, Emily, for his younger brother, Dylan. I didn’t overly love Zach in the first book. He was inattentive to everything except football so I was very happy that in Book 2 Zach grew on me.

I also absolutely loved Zach’s statistics tutor, Jenna Peterson, who is wonderfully sassy and direct. I enjoyed reading how she and Zach’s affections grow. The plot had some nice depth which enhanced the read for me.

I really liked the way that Book 1 and 2 intersect instead of Book 2 starting where Book 1 left off. We get a little of Zach’s perspective on he and Emily’s relationship and breakup and I appreciated it.

This was such a cute, enjoyable read! Looking forward to more by the author. I wasn’t familiar with any of the books but was introduced to them from a book tour. Love the cute covers.

Parts two and three of author, Christy Hayes' KISS & TELL SERIES are ready for your eyes. END RUN and KISS & MAKE UP follow part one STALLING FOR TIME. What we know so far is, Emily Dilbert is now on the arm of Dylan Chamberlain, after dating his brother Zach for five years. It doesn't appear the brothers are going to let bygones be bygones anytime soon. Zach still has his football career and the biggest game in his senior year to focus on.

In END RUN, Zach has given up women forever. He doesn't understand them and he's not going to have his heart crushed again, especially by his brother. Zach doesn't expect spending time with his tutor, Jenna is going to lead anywhere - she's not his blue-eyed, blond-hair-cheerleading type. But when Zach realizes he has to pass statistics to continue to play football, something unexpected clicks with this smart, nerdy woman.

In KISS & MAKE UP, it's time for Zach and Dylan to put their grudges aside, or is it? It's family Easter weekend at the lake house, Zach is there with Jenna, Dylan with Emily. Can't everyone just get along? Not everyone thinks forgive and forget is such a good idea. The girls put together a secret plan, but will everyone be ready to kiss and make up.

Christy Hayes' stories are delightful. They're romantic, funny and the best part, totally clean so you can give a copy to anyone. Her books also share the importance and love, family and relationships. They are also quick to read, so you don't have to put too much time aside to read. Enjoy!

This book follows Zach in the aftermath of his breakup with Emily in the previous book. Jenna is hired to tutor Zach, just one of many jocks she has tutored. But as they get to know each other more, they develop feelings for each other.

I think I liked The End Run a bit more than Stalling For Time, since the plot is a bit more simple and less convoluted, and the emotions the characters go through are more relatable. I think for this series, less is more. I also enjoy the trope of the smart wallflower and the popular jock, so even just the set-up of this book worked a lot better for me.

The End Run follow's Zach, a college football star, after his break up from his girlfriend of 5 years, Emily. Not only did they break up, but Emily is now with Dylan, Zach's brother. The first 30% of the book is basically the same as the last half of the first book, Staling For Time, but from Zach's perspective. This really makes it a stand alone which is great for readers who have not yet read the first book. For me personally, I found it a little bit redundant since I recently read Stalling For Time. But, if I had read Stalling For Time a while ago, I definitely would have appreciated this review of the previous book a bit more. Anyhow, the main focus is on Zach's friendship with his statistics tutor, Jenna. She was my favorite character because she was unapologetically herself. I love how her character was written and how we really got to look inside of her head. Jenna for the win! I loved how this book ended and I'm looking forward to the novella where Zach/Jenna and Dylan/Emily spend a weekend together. OYE!

In Stalling For Time, (book 1) I HATED Emily's boyfriend Zach, he is arrogant, self centered, chauvinistic and just awful.

He should have been named Chad.

So to say I wasn't excited about his starring in The End Run is an understatement. And folks his personality got even worse. He's manipulative, needy and gaslights the females in his life. Nasty. Yet somehow I was engrossed and fluctuated between wanting to throat punch a fictional character and rooting for the fledgling romance. I even found myself crying in sympathy at one point, which I definitely did not see coming.

So, I hated this book. I mean the characters were not developed at all. This whole book was drama after drama based on Zach's arrogance and misunderstanding because of his inconsideration of other people's feelings. And the characters behavior in this book didn't make any sense. Should've known I would hate this book. I mean what's there to like?🙄 I actually don't get it how some people gave this book a five or four star? Whatever!

The End Run by Christy Hayes

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Story Notes

This second story by Christy Hayes involving the Chamberlain family is a bit better with is character development and plot than the first. But there is still too much inappropriate content described and discussed.

Honestly, I really liked the plot of this story and the fleshing out of it. It took on issues of finding yourself worthy of attention just the way you are and accepting that someone could love you for yourself, not for what you don't have. It could have really been expanded to a longer story to give a bit more background into Jenna's family and I think that would have given it better depth. It was weird to "reread" part of the first book in the first 30 pages so that was not pleasant. It seemed like a bit of unnecessary padding to tell so much of the same content. But after that, the story really picked up. I do wish there had been less sexual dialogue and discussion done as it made me uncomfortable to read so I skipped some sections. Also, this idea of including "Christian" ideals alongside very non-Christian happenings was pretty off-putting. Otherwise it was a pretty good read and much better than the first story. Perhaps Ms. Hayes just needed to find her way in the world of writing.

I received this temporary complimentary E-book from the author via NetGalley in order to provide a fair and honest review. I will receive no fiscal compensation for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

The End Run is my favorite book in this series. I liked that Christy Hayes shared a bit of Zach and Emily's relationship from Zach's point of view because stories always have two sides. I really enjoy Zach and Jenna. They have an authentic friendship and their banter had me laughing and enjoying with them. I found myself rooting for them throughout!

Another great Christy Hayes book. I loved learning more and Zach and Jenna. It's sassy, cute, deep and it's easy to get into very quickly. I didn't want the book to end! Would recommend!

This one follows golden boy and all-star college football star Zach Chamberlin and his tutor Jenna Peterson. As Zach's life begins to unravel, it is Jenna who is always there for him. There is an immediate attraction between the two and watching them deny feelings for each other was fun to read. I really liked how this story took place in a parallel timeline to the first book in the series. There were a few scenes that are in both books, but it was interesting to read that same scene from a different perspective. I don't read many books that take place during the college years and this one put me right back in Happy Valley (any Penn State alums reading this?) A clean romance story, this is a flirty and fun adult romance that can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading the first book in the series to truly enjoy it.

The End Run gives us the chance to learn more about Zach, a character from book 1. This one was really all about the characters for me, and I really enjoyed the story. Hayes did a fabulous job of giving us a different perspective of a character that I felt distanced from in the first book. I got to know him, and became pretty invested in his life. We meet Jenna, Zach's new tutor, and she's just the cutest! I really love her sassy, take-no-shit attitude. She was a good balance for Zach. A cute story, and perfect for readers that enjoy YA/NA romances!

I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.

I wish this book started where the other book ended. Instead we have to relive the agony of Emily and Zach again, which again pushed the actual main focus of this book off the couple. However, since Jenna and Zach were new and getting to know each other we got more involved with their story this time.

This book is the second book in the Kiss and Tell series so if you haven't read the first one there are possible spoilers ahead --

The first book of the Kiss and Tell Series, Stalling For Time, followed football player Zach and his breakup with his long time girlfriend Emily. In The End Run, you see get a chance to see Zach in a different light. You get to actually learn who Zach is from a different perspective rather than just as Emily's distant boyfriend. You feel for him and how hard what he went through in the first book must have been and you see how he is dealing with trying to move on with his life. You also meet Jenna Peterson, Zach's tutor who, personality wise, is very different from Zach and calls him on his nonsense. I loved Jenna. She was so fun and sassy yet had her own insecurities about her feelings for Zach and how she could compare to Emily -- Zach's previous girlfriend of 5 years.

I liked this book a lot better than the first one to be honest. The characters were more likeable and the story between Jenna and Zach was a good read. I liked Jenna as a character and felt like she brought a good dynamic to the story. I still felt that overall it lacked some depth which kept me from giving it a higher rating but this was an entertaining read.

The follow-up to Stalling For Time, The End Run is told from Zach and his tutor, Jenna's perspective.
Yeah... THAT tutor. ;)

There's a little overlap with the first book, from Zach's point of view. But it really comes into its own in the scenes between Zach and Jenna. Truthfully? I wasn't the biggest fan of Zach during Stalling For Time. I was definitely team Dylan. But as we learn so much more from Zach's perspective, he becomes so much more relatable and actually charming.

I absolutely LOVED the chemistry between Zach and Jenna. It felt organic and authentic. Both characters really blossomed from the point Jenna is invited to Thanksgiving, and we really get to see Zach's emotional depths off the field in the latter chapters.
If I have one tiny gripe, it's that there are perhaps a few too many American football analogies for this British reader, but, otherwise, this was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I can't wait to read the following novella.

I had a difficult time getting this book. I found the characters unlikeable and the writing strange. But around the middle the story really grew on me.

I loved the story in the end. I found that the characters had great chemistry and the way their relationship begun was very sweet.

I gave this book three stars because it took me until 20% to enjoy this book.
