Lizzie Ouellette, a young woman in a small town, with a bad reputation, married to the wrong man. As a young girl, she lived with her father at the local junkyard, and she was always considered an “outsider” – someone to torment, then shun, and then ultimately ignore. She has been making some money by renting out her lakeside cabin to vacationers from away. Adrienne Richards is a wealthy socialist, spending her time shopping and posting on Instagram, and trying to forget that her husband almost went to jail for a Bernie Madoff type scheme. She rents Lizzie’s cabin and the two women seem to bond, drinking wine and sharing secrets.
When the novel starts, Lizzie tells us “if you are reading this, then I am already dead”. Lizzie has been found murdered and everyone suspects her husband, who has disappeared. The story goes back and forth (with occasional commentary from Lizzie from beyond the grave) between what is happening at the lake with the investigation, and what is going on with Adrienne back in her home in the city. Because it is clear that Adrienne and her husband have something to do with what has happened to Lizzie. From here, I can’t really say more without giving anything away. If you like thrillers with lots of twists and turns, if you like Gillian Flynn and Paula Hawkins, then add this October title to your hold list.

Lizzie Ouilette, who has grown up in the small town of Copper Falls, Maine, is found dead one day and her husband is missing. The local police soon discover Lizzie's connection to Adrienne Richards, who was renting Lizzie's house and start looking into how these two women's lives were intertwined.

If you've read even a few thrillers, you will immediately figure out the ending of this one. But I still think the book did a good job of portraying small town life. Yes, the contrasts between dowdy, rural Lizzie and cool, urban influencer Adrienne are a little bit glib and predictable, I still enjoyed watching this one play out (and was happy to be right in my suspicions about the ending!) Just because you guess the ending doesn't mean it spoils the book, because you have to read it to realize that you are right.

"My name is Lizzie Ouellette, and if you're reading this, I'm already dead." What a great opening sentence! It sets the stage for a thriller that sucked me in and kept me turning pages to try and figure out what was going on. I was drawn into the rural Maine town of Copper Falls by a string of characters who kept me guessing what they were up to. There were characters to root for and nasty ones I hoped would get their comeuppance.

Lizzie Ouellette is found dead in the cabin she rents to tourists. Enter Ian Bird, a homicide detective from the state police. It is his task to solve the murder and the suspect pool is narrow: where is Lizzie's husband, Dwayne? Bird's investigation broadens to include renters who may have been among the last to see Lizzie alive, socialite and social media influencer Adrienne Richards and her disgraced billionaire financier husband. The more Bird looks into the couple, the more he finds that the relationship between them and Lizzie and her husband was more than that of renter/tenant.

Told from multiple POV, the story switches perspective in this character-driven novel. Yes, it is a thriller with a terrific twist, but it's also a great murder mystery and police procedural. It is fast-paced and the writing is excellent. It has all of the ingredients to be a hit with those who love this type of book. Count me among them,.

This book was really good. It did get a little gory in parts which I didn't like so if you are squeamish maybe skip this one. And if you are someone who doesn't like unlikeable characters this one isn't for you. But I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I thought this was a very enjoyable book to read! There were so many plot twists and surprises in the story--I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next!

I found this to be super predictable with plot "twists" that were not really twists at all. With that said though, this did keep me engaged and I found myself unable to put it down. I enjoyed this but there is nothing really new or groundbreaking here.

Are you tired of the same old thriller? Ready for something just a bit different? Look no further, my thriller friends!

Lizzie Oullette seemed destined to be on the outside looking in. Never accepted by her peers growing up. And even though she married a local guy, still finds herself cruelly left out of any social gathering.

And things just got considerably worse for poor Lizzie. Her body has been discovered and her husband has suspiciously disappeared. The evidence trail leads detective Ian Bird to a disgraced socialite couple who had previously rented a remote cabin from Lizzie.

The storyline plays out with Lizzie herself describing the events leading up to the killing. Can you put the pieces together? Can Detective Bird solve the mystery?

This was a cleverly plotted thriller that felt so different from the “formulary thrillers” we‘ve all been accustomed to reading lately.

It was shocking, with some tasty jaw-dropping moments along the way. Now that’s more like it! Everything I could want and hope for (but rarely find) in my thrillers.

My first read by this author and anxiously await her next release!

The first thing the reader sees is the title. It says it all: No one will miss her.

In the Prologue, Lizzy Ouellette, reveals she is dead. She was raised in a junkyard with a mother that died when she was young and father that hung out at the bar. She was known by the small town as "trash." As much as she tried to fit in, it was nearly impossible. In Copper Falls, Maine, "once people had decided who you were, they simply never allowed you to be anyone else. Your label was what is was, for better or for worse."

She managed to get married to the likable Dwayne Cleaves after discovering she was pregnant. He was invited to all types of social events; she wasn't. Instead, she stayed at home dreaming of another life.

She was smart and rented out a lake house that her dad gave the couple as a wedding present. When Ethan and Adrienne Richards asked to rent the place for a month, showing up with flashy clothes, jewelry and expensive cars, she was thrilled to sign them up. Ethan was a "mastermind of a billion dollar accounting scandal" and now, they needed to stay low. Lizzy just happened to look a lot like Adrienne except this: "You're the one who grew up in a fairy-tale palace and I'm, like the hunchback twin raised by wolves."

And then, the relaxed rental changed with a murder. Detective Ian Bird was called in from the state of Maine to investigate. He walked into the rental house only to find Lizzy dead from a gunshot wound. At the same time, they discovered that her father's junkyard in town was burned to the ground while he was at the bar and her husband was gone. Who killed her?

The story has a simple plot which can be easy to predict. However, it surprised me how caught up I was with this story as it's not really something I normally would love. The conversational expressions were good and kept me reading at a fast pace with an easy flow. However, there were annoying things that were unbelievable especially towards the end. Plus there was a cat scene that made me cringe. Overall, I think the book will be one that a lot of thrill seekers will like.

I read a lot of mystery/thriller/suspense type books but this one just didn’t do anything for me. It didn’t pull me in and there just wasn’t any intrigue or suspense to make me want to find out what would happen next.

What a wild ride this one was! I really enjoyed NO ONE WILL MISS HER. This is was a quick and entertaining read from beginning to end! I did find the end to be a bit predictable BUT I’m 100% ok with the ending when the story itself is enjoyable. I actually like to see how things unfold even when I have an idea of where it’s going. I find it a bit satisfying to be right! I also really liked the multiple points of view and small town setting. CW: animal murder

No One Will Miss Her is the kind of book that you just cannot put down. In Copper Falls, Maine, a junkyard is part of a large fire. A local cop is evacuating and warning nearby homes when he comes upon a gruesome scene. A local woman, Lizzie Oullette, has been brutally murdered. Why was she murdered and why is her husband Dwayne now missing?

This book was quite the ride. It’s told between primarily by Detective Ian Bird investigating the crime, Lizzie Oullette describing her life and what happened leading up to the event, and Adrienne Richards, a rich woman who has rented the lakeside cabin in the past from Lizzie. The book kept me guessing, but I’ll admit that I did guess a big twist. It was actually something I thought, wouldn’t it be great if this happened, but I didn’t think it could. Then it did and I was excited to see how it would all turn out. This happened about halfway through, and I was still intrigued with the story and couldn’t wait to see how it would end. It was a great unique story.

The book really takes a look at what is identity in this day and age and why would no one miss Lizzie. It looks making assumptions about people due to economics and also slut shaming. It was interesting to think about. Lizzie had such a sad life; it was hard to listen to at times. I’m not going to go too much further into the plot as I loved being surprised by the story myself.

There is a graphic animal death in the book that upset me, and there are a few brutal moments in the book that have you cringe.

This book comes out October 12th and is the perfect thriller to add to your fall reads!

Lizzie Oullette is dead. And nobody seems to care. Even Lizzie says she was better off dead.

Lizzie was always an outsider in Copper Falls, even though she was born and raised there, due to the fact that she was born to an outsider. She had the nerve to get pregnant and marry the high school baseball star, Dwayne. The residents of Copper Falls and pros at holding grudges, and they have never forgiven Lizzie for single-handedly destroying Dwayne's future.

Lizzie had no friends, and her only family was her husband (now missing) and her father (perpetually drunk or sleeping it off.) No friends except Adrienne Richards, the opportunistic summer renter. The enmeshing of Lizzie's and Adrienne's lives, and their eventual unraveling, is the backbone for a tale full of twists, turns, and surprises. It's easy to love to hate Adrienne. Is sympathy for Lizzie justified, or do we love to hate her, too?

Overall, a thrilling read that kept my attention throughout.

No One Will Miss Her by Kat Rosenfield is a twisty thriller that takes place in New England, when a small-town girl is found dead in her rural Maine lake home. The story follows in the perspective of Lizzie, Adrienne, and Detective Bird. Lizzie, is from the small town and has always been an outcast. She and her father fix up a lake home to rent it out to vacationers. A summer tenant of the home is Adrienne, a vapid wealthy woman who lives in Boston with her husband Ethan, a white collar conman who swindled many out of their savings but evaded prison time.
In the beginning, we find Lizzie dead from a shotgun blast in her lake home. The tension slowly builds for the first half of the novel as details are filled in about Lizzie’s death and Adrienne’s life. Detective Bird, a state police officer, is investigating the murder and tracking down what could have lead to such a horrific crime. Though the first half kept me intrigued, the pace really picks up in the second half of the novel and the answers kept me guessing. I found it interesting to ponder how people can do major harm to others and themselves without even necessarily meaning to. I listened to the audiobook, which was perfectly narrated by Cassandra Campbell, Sophie Amoss, and Chris Andrew Ciulla. Their voices were excellent for the roles and kept me listening.

I flew through this book in 24 hours - it's so well written & atmospheric that I immediately felt immersed in the story. This would be a fantastic fall read as we enter spooky season! Gritty, shocking and twisty.

This book had me completely shocked at one point that I even had to go back and reread old chapters to make sure I was understanding what was going on - and I LOVE when that happens. I don't want to give anything away, so I'm going to leave this review by saying - if you're a thriller and mystery lover, be sure to pick this one up this fall! 💕🍁

This book was a lot of fun. So many twists and turns. I loved the use of the narrators. I felt like I was uncovering the mystery with them. This was a quality thriller and not too much can be said about favorite characters without giving things away! Highly recommend

From the description of this book I was expecting an average thriller. What this book delivered was so much better. It was fast paced, gritty and full of great characters. From the main character telling her story from the grave to the dedicated cop working her murder to the spoiled rich girl, they really drew the reader into the story. And, what a riveting story it turned into! I could not put the book down.

What a fun ride this one was. I was sucked in from page one and loved the way things unfolded. The major twist was a but predictable but I still liked how all came out. The writing is quick, witty and real. I overall really enjoyed this one and highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the different people's perspectives and the voice beyond the grave. It was a very quick read and it kept me guessing as to what was going on. I thought I had it figured out a couple of times and was wrong on both accounts.
The book gets four stars because I felt like the end started dragging and it could have been ended sooner.
Also it was kind of graphic in places and I had to skip over a few parts because I didn't want to read how she cut the body or how the cat was killed.
Overall though I enjoyed this fast paced read.

Fast paced and told from multiple perspectives, No One Will Miss Her follows the complicated relationship of Lizzie, her town, her husband, an out of town cop, and Adrienne, the wealthy outsider who is tied to Lizzie’s death.

I really enjoyed the pacing of this book and especially wanted to discover how all the loose ends would be tied up. Would recommend to adult readers.
