I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this, as I don't use TikTok. However, my daughter squealed with delight when I told her we had gotten a copy of this book. So far, we have tried the strawberry coconut milk drink (a great sub for the Pink Drink), the Hashbrown Waffles, Pizza in a mug, and souffle pancake bites. All have been delicious and did not disappoint! In addition, the recipes are fairly easy and something I can make WITH my kids. Would recommend!

This is a book about what exactly is in the description. It's got all the TikTok recipes for food trends that are all over social media right now. I think this book is great for people who want to physically read the recipes without having to rewatch a video multiple times.
I also think it's important to note the author included ways to beat the algorithm to gain more followers and interactions for people who want to become TikTok creators. Some of the tips can be used regardless of your loacation.

I love watching TikTok and on most nights I get sucked into watching DIY or How To cook something on there. As soon as I saw that this book was available to review, I knew I had to do it. I have already made a few of the things this past weekend for Memorial Day and I fell in love with some of them. Of course since I'm addicted to making drinks, that was the first thing that I had to make. The white Hot Chocolate was my favorite and I can't wait to try the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea once I find some boba's I'd like. I have a few other things that are on my must try list and they sure look easy to make. This is a book that once is out I will be adding to my cookbook collection!

The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook is absolutely adorable! But let’s not just rush into the adorable recipes and first get the interesting beginning information and reference items out of the way. One thing that is amazing about this book is the fact that you can read what the author calls a Brief History. It really is a totally brief history. It has just the right amount of information including history, staples for your pantry, and helpful kitchen tools that you will need to create these awesome creations. Due to the nature of the TikTok video which is between 30 seconds to 1 minute, there are not a lot of ingredients or complicated instructions. The recipes are the very same way, quick recipes that do not take all day to create and all kinds of complicated ingredients you will have to hunt down or pay a fortune to use and end up using sparingly. As stated before, the history is brief with plenty of #hashtags along the way. There are tips for how to create your own videos, how to make your videos on your current account draw in views, and just other all-around great advice. I, personally, love the author’s chipper attitude, but if you are older and maybe a little more jaded… I could see where it might get on someone’s nerves, but let it be noted I do not feel that way! I love it.

The recipes are easy, fun, delicious, and the ones I have not tried yet are adorable. I could spend all day on the cereal recipes! Once you start one of these fun treats you cannot stop. I wanted to keep making more and more, and my tummy had to say, NO! Or maybe that was just my jeans.

I loved this book so much, and I cannot wait until it comes out so I can buy my cousins’ kids copies too, because Lord knows I will have to buy one for myself!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for providing me the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook as part of a NetGalley giveaway.

Currently the hottest social media app among GenZ, TikTok is the home of influencers from all walks of life, including the culinary world. The Unofficial TikTok cookbook explores some of the hottest food trends and recipes to come out of TikTok.

Personally, I'm one of those people who just likes the recipes and intensely private to boot; the long intro about becoming a TikTok influencer was irrelevant to me. The recipes are interesting if they're what you're looking for: specifically, they're largely weighted towards snacks and sweet treats with a lot of visual/novelty appeal. If you're looking for a large selection of entrees, this won't be for you. Still, it's a cute book for what it is, and may get a lot of play among young people just starting out and looking to make a splash, be it on social media or in their real-life entertaining.

I absolutely loved this cookbook. Like many people, I got on Tik Tok when the pandemic started last year and there are always some many fun (and sometimes super adorable) recipes to make. This book is full of them! I love that this is something my 13 year old daughter and I could bond over. She is always asking me to make things off of Tik Tok, and this way we can do it together.

Interesting cookbook since I’m not a TikTok user and some sensational hit recipes. If your not into healthy eating then these recipes may be ideal for you. From some frothy drinks to desserts, and some sensations that have become internet famous.

What did I like? There is no recipe in this book that I wouldn’t try. Most of them use very few ingredients and look like they would be amazing. From potato waffles to any drink with matcha. Gorgeous pictures! It gives a shout out to Tik Tok and begs you to look up some cooking fun!

Would I recommend or buy? I loved the recipes! Most of them are desserts and frothy drinks but there was a ton I bookmarked! It’s an unofficial tik tok cookbook but looks like loads of fun. Anyone who just wants to have some fun while cooking should get this cookbook. Interesting and unique!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review! Five stars!

This was so fun to do with my husband, especially because we both mindlessly scroll through TikTok more than we would like to admit. The design is great, instructions are great, and everything is relatively easily compared to other cookbooks.

This is a fun book for the right audience. If you're young and/or obsessed with Tik Tok, you would probably love this. There is a whole chapter on social media, and then the chapters with recipes. Many of those are super basic or are putting together premade or convenience ingredients, not complex cooking. The items may be a nice treat, but much of the things in here are pretty indulgent and wouldn't make a meal. Lots of the cooking takes place in an air fryer, so this would probably be best for a teen or college age. The book had quite a few color photos but not for all the recipes.

Nothing new here unless you are a novice cook. Recipes are either trendy or overly sweet. No need for a book as they can be found on TikTok?

This aint yo mama’s TikTok, but it is cookin’

Posted on April 29, 2021 by michellelovatosbookreviews, world's first book color commentator, book reviews with a twist

Me: Tic Tock.
The voice in my head: You mean knock knock.
Me: No, Tic Tock.
The voice in my head: Alright, I give. Tic Tock what?
This TikTok cookbook is sheer genius.
From the fertile mind of Valentina Mussi, a.k.a., @sweetportfolio, arrives a brilliant, youthful twist on yo mama’s old cookbook.
You’re not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy. This fast-paced, wacky world is way better.
The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook: 75 Internet-Breaking Recipes for Snacks, Drinks, Treats, and More! is guaranteed to amuse and inspire human beings everywhere.
Damn. I wish I would have thought of this.
This little cookbook has everything from Dalgona Latte Coffee to egg lasagna, and whatever a cloud breakfast turns out to be.😊😊
Grab the vegi-ma-tator, or the blending, frapping, whipping, cooking and, whatever “after $%@%!,” device you have on hand, and dive into these pages.
Where, oh where do I start? How about cheese puff-crusted chicken fingers? Yes, please. Make mine a double.
Clearly, this is a cookbook for the young. Only this group of the adult population can get away with completely destroying any type of nutritional value in a food product whatsoever, and come out on the other end smelling like still-healthy-heart success.
But yum. Gimme seconds, the Tums, and the phone number to a good cardiac surgeon.
@sweetportfolio (Mussi) says anyone can have the same ol’ regular, boring food. But only readers of The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook can have a banner night, and a morning in the emergency room afterward, and get away with it.
I am seriously into this.
First, Mussi tells readers all about how to understand the terminology of the TikTok video platform, and how to film your versions of these recipes, so you can share them, and spread marketing word of mouth for @sweetportfolio across the globe.
Brilliant. Oh. Did I already say that? Listen up, grandpa. You need this tutorial or you’ll miss out on all the good stuff that will send you straight to the grave, but on the good side, your journey probably won’t taste like chicken.
Next, Mussi uncovers the success TikTok algorithm it takes for your videos of her recipes to spread across this popular Internet platform.
Ah, I don’t want to betray my age or anything, but do either of those things have to do with food? Bring back the cheese puff chicken fingers.
Evidently, good marketing is the next subject in this cookbook, and then there is what appears to be a glossary of emojis (those are tiny little faces that keep popping up everywhere, old people.)
And finally, the payoff. We get to page after page of scrumptious TikTok-able recipes to make any old fart want to be young again.
This one, readers, is a full-blown blast. And just for clarification. I mean that it’s an explosion of fun. Don’t send the senior citizen’s patrol to my door.
Do, however, get this one for your shelf, your e-reader of choice, or your snotty teenage daughter. Then, go find the Tums. Regardless of age, this one’s for you. After all, @sweetportfolio dedicated this book to her Abuelo.

I have seen some some of these viral recipes on social media and it was nice to be able to see the entire recipe (along with tips) in writing. Fun book, I will definitely try some of these recipes.

I really enjoyed this fun and delightful cookbook of viral recipes. There were plenty of surprises and I very much like the lovely, well shit photos and clear directions. I think this book is a great unique snapshot of the effect tiktok had on us all during such a wild time in our world and has clearly been lovingly curated. Can't wait to die into it even further!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

It can get pretty annoying watching the same Tik Tok several times in a row just to try and write down ingredients and directions for a recipe. I was psyched when I saw this cook book available on Netgalley! I have already tried a bunch of the recipes and although they aren't the healthiest, they're great! I haven't made my way through the whole book yet but I have bookmarked a bunch of recipes. This is definitely a must-buy book if you are into trying all the latest cooking trends!

From advice on how to post appealing TikTok cooking videos (in under a minute!) to featured popular recipes, this is a fun book to peruse. I had a digital advance copy that didn't have photos, but many of these recipes appear to lend themselves to be a fun way for parents and kids to cook together.

However, be aware that since TikTok trends change quickly, some of the more current offerings may not be featured in this book.

This book is very helpful if you want to learn more about TikTok and the world of posting recipes. The recipes themselves are fun and incredibly junky. Just profoundly unhealthy. There are lots of color photos. Most of the recipes call for purchased ingredients like pancake mix, spicy cheetos (to make breadings), canned biscuits, oreos and such. There are also a lot of whipped drinks. This won't be a good fit for people on special diets like gluten free or keto, but nobody really expects it to be. Nutritional information is not provided for the recipes (again, no surprise). All in all, it's a fun read but as a mom I worry about the generation that is regularly eating like this. 😉

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Fun little book. My teens will like this one and it will be easy to turn into a program someday. Trends change so fast though so who knows? There were already some recipes I was expecting to see that were not included, like the breakfast crunch wrap and feta pasta.
Lots of these require an air fryer or a waffle maker which if you aren't a hoarder of kitchen appliances a bit of a bummer.
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the advanced reader copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Amazing recipes, stunning photography, and great tasting food, this cookbook is amazingly done! A must buy if you enjoy food Tik Toks.

Lots of fun ideas, not as comprehensive as the Tasty cookbook, could use more photos to help the step by step guide. But the conversion of video to word was well done and it incorporated all the fan favourites

Review to come July 1st on blog/goodreads/etc..

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

So, I haven't used TikTok or watched it, I don't want to. Twitter is enough social media for me + I am a very private person and making videos is out. But I just couldn't resist a cookbook with such yummy things on the cover. I just had to check out what more yummy things would be in this book. Mm! Yum!

Before the recipes start we get some information on TikTok and on how to make cooking/recipe videos. I have to be honest, I mostly skimmed this. I have no intention of making videos. Thankfully, starting from chapter two we get recipes! I love that we begin with drinks, I hadn't expected that one, generally the cookbooks I read drinks come just before or after desserts. The drink section had some very fun and yummy sounding recipes and I would love to try out a few when I get the chance. Next up is breakfast and my stomach was rumbling. She liked the drinks and was eager to go for something more sturdy and big. There are tons of yummy breakfast foods, though I think I will just stay with my 1 or 2 slices of bread in the morning. Haha. I am just too tired in the morning to make tons of food, and yes, I could do it the day before, but after a long day and already having cooked dinner, the last I want is make food for the next day. :P After that snacks and I just wanted those mozzarella snacks, never heard of them before but DANG, that looks good! So this chapter starts off perfectly. And the rest of the chapter was just as delicious and just made my stomach rumble like crazy. She wanted ALL the foods. NOW. Sorry stomach, I don't have most of the ingredients in house (I guess in the US you do as many of the recipes are like you have these items in your house). The last two chapters are lunch/dinner and desserts! I really enjoyed reading those two and was amazed at all the yummy food. Yes, I have read the book so far, but really, it just gets yummier with each page.

My favourite part of the book? Snacks! I made so many pictures (as I am throwing away the ebook from my PC when I am done writing this review) so I can check them out later and try to make them. There are many snacks I want to try out, and hopefully I can make them all. YUM!

There are also tips on many of the pages, some had to do with food, others with Tiktok. So it was a bit hit/miss for me if I liked them. I mean, food tips, yas, tiktok tips, I don't care. XD

I am glad that at the end there was a Standard US/Metric Measurement Conversions part. REALLY, I was already worried I would have to go online and do all the things. I always hate doing that. Thank you for adding this one!

Though I have no clue where to get some of the items. I mean, canned biscuits???? Biscuit dough? Blue Majik (which sounds like Jpop band to me)? Ritz crackers? And several other items. I guess in the US these are just easily accessible, but I guess I am have to order online or find alternatives that are in the stores here.

All in all though, I am very happy I got this book and that I could read it. I cannot wait to try my hands on this book. I would recommend it to all who love cooking and want some yummy new recipes. Be warned, you may lick the pages because the photographs look so yummy. Haha.
