Unfortunately I could not get into this book and ultimately did not finish it. Other readers may like this more.
Rachel’s morning walk with her beagle takes a dark turn when she stumbles upon a dead body but this isn’t Rachel’s first encounter with murder. Will it be her last? The twisty tale keeps readers engaged, switching between the past and present storylines. The author keeps guessing until the very end.
I really enjoyed this book and I love a book told in different POVS. I'm looking forward to reading more from the author in the future.
A quick and fun read, I absolutely loved the writing style and the characters. Told from alternating times, this book was everything a psychological thriller should be and more!!
A gripping little mystery that follows Casey/rachel through her involvement in two separate murders. Who can be trusted. Who can be believed?
A really good read, gripping and full of tension;. I enjoyed it a lot and can't wait to read more from the author.
A gripping read that kept me engrossed throughout. Great characters and really well written. Highly recommended by me!
Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.
This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience
A gripping read which kept me guessing throughout. Excellent plot and very well written. I would definitely recommend reading this!
Solid story that was a bit slow to start. But as it went on the story picked up and kept my interest for the rest of the book.
I think I’ve found a new author to enjoy. This is my first book by Claire McGowan and it really sucked me in. The book is mostly formed around Rachel/Casey, with little input from the other characters. This is ok as she is interesting enough to lead the book. I Know You is told via a duel timeline and while I found the Rachel story to be a little predictable, I was thrown by the conclusion for Casey. Yes, there were some stereotypical elements in there but how the writer wrapped up what happened in L.A. more than made up for it.
The storyline is an interesting one but I feel it could have been deeper. The topic of postnatal depression was touched on and, personally, I would have been interested to see how it could have been explored more. The character attached to it is portrayed as a bitch and one-dimensional but I think more layers to her would have added something special to the book.
While I Know You definitely focuses most of its energy around the main character, there were some other elements I enjoyed: the commentary on the U.S.’ judicial system, how easy/hard it is to find someone’s personal information online, and the wonderful descriptions of L.A. and England’s Lake District.
Rachel finds a body in the woods, but runs away, scared she will be suspected of the murder. It turns out its someone she knows, and she does become a suspect. Her past life comes out, and everyone discovers that she had a previous life of where she was convicted of murder. This sets the tone of a very thrilling read where nothing is as it seems. I really enjoyed the book, and can't wait to get my hands on the next one by this talented author.
I usually love Claire McGowans books but this wasn’t my favourite. I found the dual timeline a little confusing. Story was ok but a bit predictable. Overall an ok read.
I really liked this book. I liked the double timeline, sometimes I find this frustrating but it added lots to this story. Plenty of twists and turns. A great read. Thank you
This was on my TBR shelf for way too long! I liked how it was different than what I’ve read before. Thank you Clairr McGowan and the publisher for my copy in exchange for a review. I look forward to reading more by this author!
Interestingly done with dual aspects but sadly it didn’t work for me. I usually love Claire’s books but this one although I finished I struggled.
Shifts from past to present throughout. Rachel finds a dead body while taking her beagle on a morning walk and panics. She doesn't report it. This is not Rachel’s first time dealing with a murder. She has been in this position once before. A twisty read that keeps you thinking. Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.
An ok read, not my favourite by this author.
The dual timelines made for an interesting but slightly disconnected read. Not for me on this occasion.
Dual timelines aren't usually my thing but I have to admit, I did enjoy this one.
Personally found it a little slow at times, however for the most part, I enjoyed it and I would recommend to others.
This was fine. Not bad, not good. I kind of wished the timelines has been more connected. I liked Rachel’s character for the most part.
