Feel Great, Lose Weight: Simple Habits for Lasting and Sustainable Weight Loss by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee is a great resource for starting a weight loss journey. There are great tips and suggestions for creating habits for weight loss. I thought this was a great book and look forward to implementing some of the suggestions. I enjoy Dr. Chatterjee's writing style and find it easy to read.
The narration by Dr. Chatterjee is great!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The author does a good job of narrating the audiobook. He has an empathetic approach and considers the impact of the modern world on people's health. The book is a good collection of general advice for leading a healthier lifestyle.
There is nothing groundbreaking here. Yes I took away a few tips but really I don’t think there is any new information in this book that any well read or educated person doesn’t know already. The narrator has a good voice and I did enjoy listening to it.
Listening to Feel Great Lose Weight was a pleasure, especially as it was narrated by its Author Dr Rangan Chatterjee.
I have read many so called “diet books” however, in Feel Good Lose Weigh Dr Chatterjee explains Why Diet’s Don’t Work! The book is split into five sections and Dr Rangan hopes to provide the toolbox so that we can become “our own mechanic”. There are techniques to try, bedtime breathing practices and new habits to adopt.
My two favourite takeaways are listening to Dr Chatterjee explain about Blissy foods (you will have to listen to find out more about these) and Understanding our Weight Point which Dr Chatterjee explains is a setting in our brains changed by the way we have followed so many low-calorie diets in the past. For me this was a real “aha” moment and was something I hadn’t read about before. Dr Chatterjee uses fuel and fuel tanks as analogies making it easier to understand.
Feel Good, Lose Weight was a great listen whilst I was cleaning, and I often stopped to make notes. So much so that then decided to buy the book as it is a great resource and can be read again and again.
This book has great tips and information, however as someone who has struggled with weight my whole adult life, there was little new here for me. I did like the narration by the author, and that he felt more talking to me than at me. I believe he really cares.
3 stars because it was not new info for me, but it was interesting and had good information.
This audio book is different than many other diet books that I have read. It brings up new ideas about why people gain weight and what makes it hard to lose weight. He makes sure not to blame the person who is trying to lose weight which is very important. This is a refreshing take on dieting and the emphasis on postivive body imaging is great.
He compares the human body to that of a car and tells us how to maintain our bodies and lose weight. The book is divided into 5 sections that impact weight loss. He goes over them step by step to make sure we learn how we can learn how our body works and how each individual can find their own path to weight loss.
I recommend this book but will not read a diet audio book again--it is harder to keep focused. I will read diet books or cookbooks in print.
3.5 stars
*received for free from netgalley for honest review* Overall not a horrible read but idk about everything talked about in this book, mostly telling others what to eat
I enjoyed the audiobook and felt it was narrated well. However, nothing that was discussed was earth-shattering to me. I did enjoy that self-image was also discussed.
Feel Great Lose Weight is an excellent audiobook. If you struggle with excess weight or maybe you would like to live a more healthy life – this is a book for you. Give up all your diets and plans, and listen to this first!
You will find out what, why, when, where, and how we should and shouldn't eat. So many things are crucial in our battle with our weight. Sometimes we can't force it. We have to find our right way to do it. I already knew quite a few obvious facts in this book, but I didn't know all the details about it. And it is nice to know why and how certain things affect our health and weight problems.
I would say Feel Great Lose Weight is equally good as a book and an audiobook. It depends on what you prefer. I will check out the author's podcast and some other works.
Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this! All opinions are my own.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and RB Media for the ARC of the audiobook.
This was a quick audiobook really well narrated.
Despite the book not being groundbreaking if you read a lot of "Weight Loss" books, it does have a lot of advice and tips on how to make a slow and sustainable Weight Loss plan that with some perseverance we can keep in the long run.
The book does have some information that I hadn't heard before that seemed logical but never thought of it before for example:
I do intermittent fasting and normally skip breakfast and the book made me realize that it's better to skip dinner since you need less energy while you sleep. Until now, I had never read this advice explaining the "why should I skip dinner instead of breakfast" or it wasn't written in a way that got my attention
I will personally change some of my habits and recommend it to people that just need to have some guidance on how to have healthier habits.
While there is nothing earth shattering or new in this book, there are a lot of helpful tips and information for those struggling with their weight. Instead of opting for diets, it stresses making small meaningful changes you can build on. The author realizes no two people are the same, therefore one plan doesn’t work, he offers options on many different topics to help you set up habits that you can live with and succeed. I’ll definitely be trying some of the practical tips.
I was surprised to see it was narrated by the author. He does such a good job that yiu wouldn’t know narration wasn’t his day job.
Feel Great, Lose Weight by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee is an excellent book. It is going to be a huge game changer in my life. Filled with simple, obtainable common sense advice, I wonder why I haven’t been doing this since I started struggling with my weight twenty years ago. I was fortunate enough to receive an audiobook ARC and I loved listening to it. Narrated by the author himself, his voice is so encouraging that I finally feel like I can get a handle on my weight. I loved his advice of ditching the scales and just focusing on whole foods, walking as much as possible and building up strength. I have already found his podcast and will continue to follow his advice. Thank you so much to Netgalley and RB Media for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.
Feel Great, Lose weight by Rangan Chatterjee is a quick audio. The author/narrator is pleasant, but I must admit translating British English to American English is sometimes annoying. Biscuits are cookies. Crisps are potato chips which are French fries. I’ve read so many diet books. This doesn’t present any new information. As a lifetime member of weight watchers, I disagree with some of the author’s ideas. Weighing yourself twice a day—NO. Weight loss is re-educating yourself for lifetime. Chatterjee notions are too strict. Life just isn’t that way.
I generously gave this book 3 stars.
This felt very similar to every other weight loss book I have ever read.
Three Stars, Although it may help some people for those looking for new and unique information I do not feel like this is the right place to find it
I listened to the audiobook version of Feel Great, Lose Weight. There are a lot of positives about this book, while there are some things that felt incomplete. Personally, I have been trying to find a way to get healthier, but can never seem to long-term commit to something.
Firstly, and possibly the most important, there is not any lose weight fast and easy solution in this book. It is not about unhealthy fad diets, but rather the adjustment of mindsets and finding the RIGHT health plan for YOU. This book focuses on changes all around that one can try to make to help, such as, sleep and personal attitude.
I have started to try some of the tips about trying to get more sleep, be more positive about myself, and not snacking late at night.
I do feel like the author plugged his podcast a little too much. Sometimes I felt like the information I was waiting for was not reached but rather there was a specific podcast episode given.
The narration was clear and easy to follow. It is narrated by the author.
I would recommend this book to someone looking to get into the weight loss.
Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to listen to this book.
I have not yet had time to listen to this novel before the archive date. I am looking forward to reading it and once I do, I will come back and leave a proper review!
I really enjoyed listening to this audio book.
Dr Chatterjee is the narrator and has such a soothing voice. I felt very relaxed listening to this
The book is all about adopting a healthier lifestyle with great tips for diet, mobility, sleep, relaxation etc
I found it extremely informative and fully intend to put into practice
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this title
Dr. Chatterjee takes the hype and complication out of weight loss and turns it into an easy to do and practical way to change one's daily outlook on life and habits, by finding simple solutions to not only lose weight but to feel better about oneself. This book is good for anyone who is not only looking to find ways to lose weight but to also find a new outlook on self-image by making changes with solid, simple solutions that are available to everyone. A must-read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Gildan Media for giving me this opportunity to listen and review this book. #NetGalley, #GildanMedia.
This was really educational for me, and I learnt alot of stuff that I didn't know, when I finished listening when straight to the podcast for more of the info on fasting which was so fascinating!!
I'm buying this book for my friend as soon as it comes out. It was like Dr. R was talking straight to her!! I think this book could be really useful to her as well as myself
