I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. It’s more action packed, the suspense moments are more developed and bring out other qualities on the main character, Christopher.
His ties with the FBI and MI5 are never going to leave his life and while he’s on the revenge path for what happens to his sister, he realised that his past actions might always be related to the now occurring situations .
The series is escalating with better graphic description and actions. It can be read as a standalone but it’s always best to start from the beginning.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

Author J. K. Kelly (https://jkkelly.com) published the novel The Export's Revenge in 2021. Mr. Kelly has published six novels. This is the second novel in his 'The Export’ series. I had the chance to interview the author in September of 2019. You can read that interview here.

I received a copy of this novel from the author in return for a fair and honest review. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of violence. The story takes place at various locations around the world. The primary character is FBI agent Matt Christopher.

This novel picks up shortly after the first novel in the series, The Export, concludes. Christopher has taken a job protecting a wealthy yacht owner. Christopher barely survives an attack on the vessel. Soon after, he learns that his sister has been brutally attacked and may not survive. He flies immediately to Rome to check on her. He believes that the attack resulted from some of his prior actions.

Forced to leave the FBI Christopher forms his own company. One of his first hires is Francesca. She is a former Italian policewoman and Special Forces operative. Christopher's relationship with his ex-wife Claire seems to be growing closer. He has been warned though that he shouldn't trust her. He is not sure what to believe. The US President offers Christopher a position within his administration. He tells Christopher that he wants him to seek out those who are abusing their positions. This was what Christopher had been trying to do when forced to leave the US years before. He is tempted, but he is wary of the offer.

Things are happening that seem to have a link to Brit Thomas Sinclair. Christopher had helped an MI5 friend bring down the powerful Sinclair (see book #1). What has happened to Christopher and his family seems tied to the Sinclair family.

I enjoyed the 6 hours I spent reading this 362-page thriller. While this novel can be read stand-alone, it would be best to read The Export first. This is a much better-written novel than the first in the series. It is very exciting and packed with action. The cover art is a little dull, but it is OK. I give this novel a 4 out of 5.

Hi, reviews below for ‘The Export’ and ‘The Exports Revenge’ which I am doing as one review ( kinda ) and next up debut author Clarissa Whittaker with ‘The Magpie’…..

So, ‘The Revenge’ and the ‘The Exports Revenge’ by J.K.Kelly and published by JK Kelly Consulting LLC ‘The Revenge’ is out May 25th and ‘The Exports Revenge’ May 26th and a bit confusingly this one is out now in paperback ( if ‘Exports Revenge’ comes out in paperback will update )

‘The Revenge’ 301 Kindle App Flix
‘The Exports Revenge’ 269 Kindle App Flix

Phew right onto the books!

Meet Matt Christopher, he has had his fingers in every pie, be it FBI, MI5/6, Mossad and everything in between
In ‘The Revenge’ we find him in various life threatening situations on Mount Everest and in Moscow, The UK and Quebec ( amongst others ) and the book takes you on his adventures and mishaps, to say he is a lovable rogue somewhat covers it but he is intense, very intense and always ends up in eye watering situations, the book ends and
‘The Exports Revenge’ starts, this was my favourite of the 2 books, I knew him more and knew what to expect a bit more, the writing is good but at times complex but at all times exciting
This time we see him in Rome ( so beautifully described I wanted to go ) Camp David and London to name a few as his life becomes more and more complicated and fragile, some of the things he does seem cold bloodied but he has his reasons as we find out as the book progresses
I really grew to understand him and what makes him tick and what life he had and it came together really well
The characters are pin prick descriptive and the excitement and action keeps on coming, he also loves his food and coffee and hotels and fine things and I loved all that, there is also rye humour in there
A really good 2 parter that for me excelled in book 2 and I wonder if there will be a Book 3…..

Altogether its a combined score of

8/10
4 Stars
And I really do wish the author success with these books as his enthusiam and drive make him deserved of that

My thanks to NetGalley and publisher JK Kelly Consulting, LLC, for the ARC.

This is Book#2 in The Export series and I really would recommend that you read Book#1 if you've not already done so because then you'll really understand the complexity of the world Matt Christopher finds himself in. This is a fast-paced, action-packed thriller, taking Matt, and the reader, across the world; using his wealth and network of contacts to deliver justice where needed. Full of really good characters, all well-drawn, (and not least, Lucy the dog).

Having dispatched a killer in Thailand, Matt and Sam Norton are providing security on a luxury yacht off the coast, with Matt fending off pirates. He now cannot trust Sam and they part company, with Matt heading for Mumbai to investigate who killed a trained killer there. His Aunt Helen had been murdered and he still needs to know who gave that order as well. His handler Claire in the USA tells him his sister Jenny has suffered a brutal attack in Rome, from which she may not recover. Jenny was a journalist specialising in rooting out corruption at the highest levels. When two bona fide FBI agents turn up to confiscate Jenny's belongings, Claire sets about investigating just who sent them.

Matt engages the help of Francesca - a highly-trained operative currently working with the local police, to find out who was behind the attack on his sister, whilst Matt goes to meet The President at Camp David where he is presented with an offer he shouldn't refuse. However, he has too many loose ends to tie up - first Helen, now Jenny - this was getting very personal indeed. Especially when The president hints at knowing more about Matt's family and the source of his wealth than he should. Can Matt Trust him?

He can't accept the President's offer without preserving his autonomy to deliver his kind of justice, so begins to assemble trustworthy people for a new business enterprise based in Douglas on the Isle of Man, whilst pursuing a killer to Peru.

Matt's life becomes really complicated when, with the help of Francesca, he identifies his decades-earlier, disowned brother, and realises how deeply he's been involved in recent events. Matt has some decisions to make.

Can't wait for Book#3!
