I read this book in a day –sorry, home office- and it was absolutely marvelous.
Evelyn Thorncroft wants to marry a duke, but she’ll settle for an earl. The Earl of Hawkridge, to be precise. The only problem? Weston cannot stand the sight of her. At least, that’s what he says, until a travelling experience shows him otherwise.
From the first moment he sees Evie across a crowded ballroom, Weston desires her. The dark-haired American is beautiful, intelligent, and charming. The only problem? She’s in England trying to recover a ring that’s part of his family’s fortune.
Trapped under the same roof during a trip and then a house party, Evie and Weston struggle to control their blistering chemistry. Neither are looking for love, and past hurts have made them far too cynical to believe in happily-ever-after. But love is going to teach them a lesson about feelings, commitment and desire.
I loved the first book in this series, but this one is even better and one of my favorite books ever. The writing is flawless, witty, smart and impossible to put aside. I loved Evie. I want to be Evie! And Weston is the perfect head strong hero that you want to hate, but then he holds a lamb in his arms and you just need to marry this guy.
The chemistry between them is of the chart. There are many hot moments and wonderful, wonderful kisses.
For me, this book is a must.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I started laughing at the first scene and didn’t stop until the end. Evie and Weston are both determined to marry for reasons other than love. He wants a distant, biddable, proper lady to be his perfect countess, and he has chosen the lady. She wants to marry a title, with money, and because she wants her mother’s ring back, she has chosen Weston. Spending a month at a house party should prove to be interesting.
The is a fast-paced fun story. Evie and Weston embark on a battle of wits, each stubborn and determined to win. Both have been hurt, and neither believes in love – at first. Their banter is snarky and the chemistry between them is almost impossible to fight. They get a few nudges from Sterling and Brynne, a cousin about to blossom, and an orphaned lamb named Posy. If you like surprises, you’ll the way this one ends. Cute story, delightful series. I recommend both.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
I tried to finish the book. I very rarely not finish a book. The back and forth between Evelyn and Weston got old very quickly. I never understood why Weston's twin sister, Brynne, invited Evelyn but did not ride with her to their country home. She was leaving a few hours later. Evelyn had no maid or chaperone with her. That's just the start. I only made it about half way through the book. This book was not for me. I did not feel a connection with the characters and I gave up forcing myself to focus on it.
Entranced by the Earl by Jillian Eaton is number two in the Perks of Being an Heiress series. Evelyn Thorncroft, Evie to her friends, planned to marry a duke. She had come across the ocean for just that purpose. Well, that and retrieving her mother's ring which had been stolen from them, she and her sisters. How the sister she had come to London with, Joanna, was on her way back to Boston and Evie was staying. At the Beresford Ball she had met the man: he was perfect and she wanted him, until she discovered who he was. He had felt the same way, until her discovered her identity. She had thought over and decided she could settle for an earl and he was the earl she wanted. Marry an earl and retrieve her mother's ring, all in one transaction. His sister had invited her to a month-long house party and a ride to the country home with her brother, Weston, Earl of Hawkridge. What fun she would have.
What a fun book. Watching Evie trying to attract Weston and Watching Weston try to be sensible instead of falling for Evie was worth the price of admission. He wanted a sensible marriage. No use mucking it up with love. He wasn't even sure if he believed in love. Evie came to her senses when it became obvious he had proposed to someone else. It was funny, and charming, and engaging. Plus it has an epic cliffhanger to introduce us to the next book. I loved it. One of the better Regency romances!
I was invited to read Entranced by the Earl by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone. #netgalley #entrancedbytheearl
Evelyn Thorncroft wants to marry a duke, but she’ll settle for an earl. The Earl of Hawkridge, to be precise. The only problem? Weston cannot stand the sight of her. At least, that’s what he says. Their passionate kisses, however, tell a very different story. From the first moment he sees Evie across a crowded ballroom, Weston Weston, Earl of Hawkridge desires her. The dark-haired American is beautiful, intelligent, and charming. The only problem? She’s a money-grubbing hoyden after his family’s fortune. At least, that’s what Weston tells himself. His heart, however, tells a very different story. Then West’s twin sister Brynne has invited Evie to their annual house party.
A well written romance that was a fun entertaining read. I loved the antics surrounding Posy. I liked Evie but found that she appeared to be a bit narcissistic & West was difficult to like at the beginning as he was so cold & dour. However the more I read the more I liked the pair, the chemistry was electric no matter how much they tried to fight it plus their verbal banter was such fun. There was an ongoing thread from the first book & it seems this will run throughout the series as not much progress was made in this book. There were again secondary characters who I hope have their stories & the ending was a surprise – roll on book 3
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Absolutely loved it. The story is fast moving and never bogs down or drags. The characters are both flawed and looking for different things only to find out that’s what draws them together. Evelyn finds that there is more to her than even she was aware and Weston faces his own fears to thaw enough to see a future. Well worth the time to enjoy this story

This was a difficult one for me to gage. Ended up giving 4 stars because I did like the writing style and Evie’s character very much .
Weston I’m afraid was pretty annoying until about half way in then I started to get a little bit of a soft spot for him.
By the end I was enjoying the book and I would say to give it a chance, there is a good chemistry between the couple, wether they admit it or not, which makes for some entertaining scenes.
I read the first in the series and that was quite enjoyable too.
On the whole , 4 stars and a good read with some great characters in a sweet romance that does manage to entertain.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Will he let his past scars impede his future ...
This series is going better and better, and the ending left me on edge, can’t wait for the next book, and the one after too.
After the previous book where Evie was always trading names and insults with her elder sister, two harridans loving one another all the while trying to draw blood; she now locks horns with this sister half-brother.
And what a war they wage against the other.
If he calls her a shrew, she could name him a grouch. Yet, she is more a woman with a feisty and fiery temper going after what she believes she must and wants, than a true virago. She is full of humor and some self-mockery, and she will need it when she will find herself stranded in the countryside with a very surly Earl.
She had everything mapped out, entrance the Earl, bring him to heel and marry him, it would solved her family’s problems and brought back the lost/stolen ring.
And while the said Earl is quite drawn to her, it never seems enough for him to go on one knee, even if kisses are delivered and greatly appreciated.
Weston closed his heart on the day he decided he could no more bear to wait for his father to show a modicum of interest. Since, he keeps everyone at arm’s length, determined to avoid any sentimental entanglement. Like Evie, he thought he had everything well planed.
Yet this hellion of a woman from the moment he set eyes on her has shaken his world.
He is determined to hate her because of everything she represents, all the while he longs to kiss her and do more.
Their relationship is one battle of wits and will, with unexpected turns of event when a orphan lamb is thrown in the middle.
I loved that Evie acknowledged her change of heart, she does not shy away from her feelings nor from the challenge they can be. She is also so very contradictory, among society, she presents herself as controlled, always perfectly turned, perhaps even vain when she jumps and runs for a tiny lamb and cries for it.
Weston is a hard nut to crack, so afraid to be hurt again, so much he would endure a lonely life instead to risk his heart again.
Yet I wonder if the book would have been better named Bewitched by Miss Thorncroft.
Do not miss this full of quips, humor and emotions read.
It will make you want for more.

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Evelyn Thorncroft has her eye on marrying an earl, one earl in particular, Weston, the Earl of Hawkridge. She doesn't believe in love, but in marrying a title, admired by society and enough money to buy whatever she wants. Weston hosts an annual house party every year before the season starts at his country estate, Hawkridge Manor. Evie's invited by his twin sister and has four weeks to get Weston to propose. Weston is handsome, but cold as a glacier. He doesn't believe in love and already has a lady picked out to propose to at the end of the house party. Nevertheless, Evie is a distraction. She's stubborn and determined, but her biggest challenge will be thawing Weston's heart. Chuckles, snickers and laugh out loud with some tears, great second book in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
A very determined impoverished American, Evelyn, comes to England to find a stolen valuable family heirloom. She decides she likes England and should marry into the aristocracy. Weston falls for her at once, but tries to distance himself since he plans have a loveless match. Evie wears him down! I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
This is the second book of a series and while it can be read as a standalone, I did not read the first book and definitely felt like I was missing a large piece of the puzzle. This is a complex story, where the heroine's older sister is a Duke's illegitimate daughter and through fate, discover her origins. Her half brother is Weston, an Earl who basically wants nothing to do with his bastard half sister. Evelyn sets off to marry the wealthy Earl for his title and money, but ends up falling for him while he still wants nothing to do with her and later fights how he feels for her.
I had a hard time understanding the heroine. I typically do no like a woman who wants to marry a man for financial gain. When Evelyn's heart is on her sleeve Weston kicks it, repeatedly.
I would recommend reading the first book, because I truly did feel like I was missing a large piece of the story without having read it first. I enjoyed the supporting characters in the book and look forward to seeing Brynne and the Duke's stories. This book is for anyone who loves regency romance, a strong heroine and the enemies to lover trope.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!
This story is like a striptease. One layer comes off at a time and teases us to keep reading. Will it all come off or will we be left wanting? Going into this story I knew that I was probably not going to like Evelyn from reading the first story. She only wants one thing, to marry wealthy and has her sites set on Weston. Sounds a bit cavalier and both characters are guilty. We see the want and the desire and partially acting on it and then boom, back to their thinking that love has nothing to do with it. See, striptease. I loved the banter and laughed out loud at some of it. Were the characters perfect? Definitely not and that is what makes this so much more enjoyable to read until the end to see how they change. This is a great series. Oh, and the punch at the end was delicious. I also have my sights set on Sterling and who is heroine might be.
This story is good, a flatly 3 stars worth story.
This is an enemy-to-lovers story between a desperate beautiful American and a very stupid and heartless Earl (sorry not sorry but I really annoyed with them). Firstly, I still can stomach until maybe 5 chapters and it's getting more and more annoying. Evie fall for Weston, give her heart, and confess to him multiple time and yet he keeps on rejecting her. AND WHY AT THE END SHE GIVE HER YES TO HIM SO EASILY??
I personally don't like when the woman is the one that grovels to be loved by her love interest. AND I HATE THAT, Weston didn't even feel the humility and the rejection like wtf ???
I could not put this book down! This is one of those stories that you start and everything else is put on hold until the end. It drew me in and the characters, oh the characters are so fleshed out they feel real. Evelyn's sister is a Duke's by-blow due to her mom refusing to marry him and running off to America. When her father dies then they resort to selling their mother's ring. Well Weston has been looking for this ring as its his birthright and should go to his wife when he marries. He has had a cold upbringing and seeing what love did to his father he has decided to have a cold safe marriage. Evie is anything but and she goes to England to get the ring but also to marry Weston, he just doesn't know it. Their chemistry is off the charts and you can feel their pull to each other and how Weston fights it. It enemies to lovers style romance but it is charismatic and has so many little details to characters that hints at other books, but can completely be read alone. The next book is about Weston's twin, Brynne and omg I am so looking forward to that book. This one sets it up nicely and over all this series is absolutely magical.
This was an enjoyable, feisty regency romance. Both Evie and Weston were engaging characters, both strong and determined and both looking for marriages of convenience, but sometimes love is found when not looking. They are passionate and can't deny their attraction. I was definitely Entranced by the Earl. A delicious story by Jillian Eaton.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
4.5 stars
Nothing like a story about a headstrong heroine, a grumpy earl, and a sweet orphaned lamb to make you smile on a gloomy day.
I have been waiting for Evelyn's story since we got the setup for it at the end of Bewitched by the Bluestocking. I just knew that the pairing between her and Weston was going to bring the fire and boy, was I thrilled to find that I was correct. The banter is great, the characters are a delight, and I absolutely flew through this in less than 24 hours. This has been my favorite series from Dragonblade and I am beyond stoked for the third book to come out. Hopefully, I won't have to wait too long!
