I think I might have missed and forgotten the "Infrequently Asked Questions" part in the title as I started reading this because I did not expect it to be as random as it is. While not the best when it comes to books about random "facts" about a person or subject this one was fairly interesting for the most part. And by this point Elvis is more idea (or conspiracy theory) than person for the non-fans; so a book like this briefly explaining some of those things makes sense.
Going into this review i must state that im a huge Elvis fan. I've read over 100 books on him. I own at least 50. I own records, every movie, documentary. I even own dolls etc you name it. Ive been to graceland. And hurts to me. This book is a waste of time as an Elvis Fan. I would not pay money for this book. Let alone recommend it to an Elvis fan. And i hate saying that. But this book isnt it. Nor gives good information. Its like the author got his research from wikipedia
This is something a bit different for people who love Elvis and people who are interested in the concept of celebrity. It’s beautifully presented and I was thrilled to see Bubba Ho Tep get a mention.
I am pretty much the world's biggest Elvis fan (and the fact that I am 27 shocks most but I have an inner-65 year old hidden in me somewhere) but I don't totally love peddling conspiracy theories about Elvis's death. I know the author wasn't intentionally doing that because it is all about learning the rid-bits of Elvis' life but this book just didn't do it for me as there are plenty of better books about Elvis on the market.
