I almost don't even have words for this one. Beyond 5 stars - immediately recommended to everyone I know.

Okay, this book is just perfect!

For real tho Ali Hazelwood did such an amazing job writing this book, I have to say that his is one of my favorite books ever. She took the well used trope of enemies to lovers but gave such a unique touch to it making it so real and relatable and I think this is why so many people are loving it.

Olive and Adams relationship is to die for and the way their relationship evolves during the book is perfect. Book wasn’t long or short it just again just perfect.

If you haven’t decided if you want to buy this book or not take this a sign to go and read it!

What an absolutely adorable book!

I always love the fake dating trope and Ali Hazelwood knocked it out of the park for me.

These characters were quirky and fun and I loved their banter. From Adam and Olive to Ahn and Jeremy...what delightful characters.
The fact that this is a debut novel for Ali Hazelwood is unbelievable. She did such an amazing job with her story and keep this reader glued to her kindle.

I am kicking myself for not reading this sooner! This has everything I need in life: science jargon, cute romantic tropes, and steam! And this was a debut novel?! Blasphemy! The Love Hypothesis quickly found a spot in the top 5 best romantic books ever and a top read for me this month and probably this year as well. The characters were absolutely delightful and I could easily picture this story come to life in my mind! Consider me first in line for any future novel by Ali Hazelwood, because this real life science nerd needs to much more romance in the STEM field!

This romcom is PHENOMENAL gaaaah!! 😍👏👏💥

I don't normally read romance except those in Christmas novels. Then something like this one comes along and I wonder why I don't read more?! This has STEM representation🥼🧪. I'm also loving the academic setting, which I used to think is boring. Fake dating trope, yes YES! The characters are adorable and quirky. The chemistry and tension between Adam and Olive are excellent. I can't believe this is a debut novel!

Spoiler Alert: The sex is 🔥!

My thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and NG for my ARC.

This book was amazing and one of my absolute favorite romances of 2021! I loved Olive and her strory/struggle as a phd student. Adam made me swoon- they had amazing tension and I loved their relationship.

Absolutely loved this STEAM powered rom-com focused on Olive, a Ph.D. candidate who starts a fake dating relationship with a professor known for being a moody jerk.

Have I mentioned I adore the trope of grumpy jerk is a jerk to everyone but his person??? Cause it's done in a really cute fashion in this story, and I love that he's not a truly cruel person, just blunt and with poor people skills.

Olive and Adam have fantastic chemistry, pun intended, and I enjoyed how they talk and get to know one another in a sweet and satisfying series of fake dates. Olive is a likable lead struggling with her research, and I enjoyed her character growth.

My one issue with this story is that they joked around about title 9, the laws that protect students and workers from sexual harassment, but then they took this issue seriously when Olive had to deal with this. I just wish they hadn't joked about it earlier, since it's actually a big theme of the book.

Overall, loved this rom-com and highly recommend it!

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
I have already re-read it twice.
The characters are relatable and diverse.
The love story is fantastic!!!
Just grab it, find a quiet spot and dive in. Better make sure it’s a comfortable spot because I couldn’t put it down.
Enjoy!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

I rounded up from 3.5 since it’s a good story for a debut author. However for me It was predictable. I appreciate that it covered more than just a love story with deeper topics but it felt a little overhyped for me.

The grumpy sunshine trope has never been done so adorably. Seriously one of the cutest, funniest, sweetest rom coms I have read and I would put this up there with Kiss Quotient for my favorite romances. I can't believe Ali is a debut author who never thought she'd write a book because her very first one is now an all time favorite of mine!! If you're looking for a rom com to make you giggle (a lot), swoon, and smile to yourself while you read with a healthy dollop of steam, read this!!!

I loved every bit of this book. Olive and Adam were absolutely perfect together and just so so delicious. I loved how real Olive’s character is- as a grad student and as a poor one on top of that. I loved that when dealt so much in terms of her relationship with Adam, she bucked up and got what she deserved. The rep in this was just *chef kiss*. I want so much more of these character

I just finished The Love Hypothesis and it was AMAZING. Everything about it was just so wonderful. This book made me laugh and cry. I loved the academic setting and the writing. The main characters, Adam and Olive were written so perfectly. I related a lot to Olive. She was written so well and realistic. Adam was just so sweet and cute. Seriously everything about this book was just so good! I highly recommend it. I can't believe this was Ali Hazelwoods first book. She is such a natural!

Looking for a quick rom-com to read? With the fake-dating trope in the STEM academia setting? Then this book is definitely for you! This Wattpad-esque feel good book can be exactly what you need. But unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea. However, it did a solid job of keeping me entertained and making me laugh.

The Love Hypothesis leads with witty charm and funny characters. However, at times they can become stereotypical and bland. Adam is the typical broody and moody man, while Olive radiates rays of lightness like a sun. This dynamic can be a favourite of some, but unfortunately not for me. We do get to know the characters a bit and understand their personalities, but it also felt a bit empty? Everything ended in such simple ways, with few misunderstandings. Of course there's the typical misunderstanding trope between the main couple,,,, but also this book was supposed to be a quick and easy read. So I do understand the simplicity. After all, we don't always need the confusing and difficult plots and themes. Simplicity is sometimes key.

However, the only thing I really didn't like was the kind of power dynamic between Adam and Olive. Of course they discuss it and everything, but it just felt weird to think of dating like a professor. The professor of her friend. Asdhgjkadfhl idk but it weirded me a bit out. But I do believe the author tackled this well. It's just my own feelings ahsdsfjkdl.

So if you're looking for a quick, funny and entertaining read, then I recommend reading this quirky and nerdy rom-com which may warm your hearts!

Over and out. -Nora<3

This book was pure serotonin. I loved every second of it.
Olive and Adams reactions made me feel so giddy. The tension between them was perfect and I was rooting for them the whole time.
I also really loved the asexual representation! I felt so seen by this book.

I can’t really put into words how i feel about this book, I just loved it alot🥰
If you read one more book this year, make it this one!

I stayed up way too late reading, but managed to finish this fun story, published last month, by 3 am.

3⭐️ - for entertaining characters and women in STEM. Points deducted for unrealistic sex and the female protagonist’s over-the-top adorkableness (that’s a word, right? If not, it is now.).

What can I say? This book was perfect. The characters, the banter, the chemistry (pun-intended), the pacing, everything! I loved that the main character was a smart and successful student. Olive and Adam were very likeable characters. I also enjoyed the drama of the conflict, it had me shook tbh, I was clutching my pearl, because boy was it shocking. ASLO, chapter 16 should win a pulitzer prize because that chapter is a master class...in every way.

This book. THIS BOOK. Oh my goodness it was a delight to read. I read this book twice in the span of a month. I love reading fanfiction and this felt exactly like the best of fanfictions. I stayed up until 2am reading this book. Adam and Olive are PERFECTION and the Reylo vibes were exceptional.

I loved seeing the representation of women in STEM and to see an openly demisexual character on page was fantastic and the spicy scene made me slightly emotional because the characters communicated clearly and accommodations were made.

In conclusion, this was one of the best books I've read all year and I am going to make all my friends read it. I will definitely be rereading this book on a yearly basis because it brings me soooo much joy.

I also still think about "Pay attention, sweetheart." on a daily basis and it's all Ali Hazelwood's fault. A full review will be posted on my blog (mousethatreads.com) soon!

Thanks to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing Group for the early copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Love Hypothesis follows Olive, who somehow finds her in an awkward situation where she's fake-dating the least favorite professor in the department.

It's okay, it works well as a romance novel. I feel like the build up could have been done better and Olive & Adam could've used way more scenes together. It was weird how the book kept saying "Adam is the meanest person on the planet!" but then Adam was never actually mean to anyone.... It was hard to believe Adam is an unpopular figure in the department if all he's doing is properly critiquing students' work to make sure it succeeds.

Olive was strangely enough my least favorite part of the book. She wasn't really interesting as a character and I wanted more of Adam who had more depth to him than Olive.

I did enjoy the STEM stuff and the insight into the field, that did help set this book apart from typical romance books.

And yes, this is literally Reylo (Kylo Ren x Rey aka Star Wars) fanfiction. I wish it was less obvious but it's clearly there. I did get a chuckle out of the Adam is shredded & has an eight-pack joke, but it was getting annoying after a while. Yes...somehow this book got published despite it being very obvious fiction. I mean, at least the 50 Shades lady changed enough of the names and stuff around it wasn't as obvious....

I read this in one-sitting because THIS WAS SOOOOO GOOOD.

Like if anyone ever comes for this book saying it's bad, you need to go reread. I looooooved Olive and Adam's banter, how their friendship blossomed and the whole fake dating. AHHHH looked it.

And the spice, even if it was one chapter. It had me sweating, I was like wait what this cute book.

Highly recommend, because when a book is that good, how can you resist.

The book was phenomenal and I cannot wait to see more from this author because I will definitely be on the lookout for me. Ali gave me great romance and science in one book. I never felt more heard or understood.
