A sweet and light romance read that was a bit peculiar as Nell is fulfilling her late friend's request.

Heartwarming, comforting, cute, funny, emotional with lovable, quirky and relatable characters and set in an absolutely dream of a place called Tansy Falls, this book ticked all the right marks.

Similar in vein to 'P. S. I Love You' except that instead of a dead husband it is Nell Swift's best friend Megan who, by leaving a letter and an itinerary after her untimely death, encourages Nell Swift to take a trip to Megan's home town of Tansy Falls in Vermont to not only scatter her ashes but in the hopes that while there Nell will also rediscover herself after going through a bad patch in her own personal life.

With the beautiful backdrop of Vermont and a storyline that is equal parts emotions and laugh out loud moments, this book is perfect Hallmark movie material.

I have no idea why I waited so long to read THE INN AT TANSY FALLS by the awesome author Cate Woods. I have never read her books before and now know that she goes straight for the readers heart and THE INN AT TANSY FALLS did exactly that. I finished this with tears streaming down my face and a huge lump in my throat, at the same time I was smiling like an idiot! I love when an author can do that to me.

When Nell’s best friend, Meagan dies from cancer, she leaves Nell a hand written note. Nell is given very detailed instructions by Meagan, that she is to visit Tansy Falls, Vermont. She wants Nell to spend two weeks at the Tansy Falls Inn. Everyday she has to try something new. Nell fulfills Meagan’s request and heads to Tansy Falls, but she isn’t comfortable out of her comfort zone and as a result, isn’t very happy! Well friends, hold on to your seats! This is going to be one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride! There are so many twists and turns that will floor you as you are read. Meagan knew exactly what Nell needed even when Nell herself didn’t!

I fell in love with all of the characters in THE INN AT TANSY FALLS. They are all very relatable and you can’t help but feel as if you’ve known them forever. Once you start reading, you will not be able to put this sweet story down. I cried my eyes out while finishing THE INN AT TANSY FALLS. Cate Woods shredded my heart, left me sobbing, and then put my heart back together again. I just love when an author does that to me. When I was finished reading, I sat there for a very long time wondering what I would have done in Nell’s situation and I hope I would have handled it the same selfless way she did.

Grab THE INN AT TANSY FALLS, snag a snack and your favorite beverage and get on the couch. Be prepared to spend the day with mixed emotions while reading this beautiful story and keep the tissue box handy. The more I was reading, the more I found myself slipping into the story and living vicariously through Nell. I was so engrossed in her story and was constantly rooting for her happiness even if at times I was wondering if she was making the right decisions! I am now on a quest to read all of Cate Woods’ books, she goes straight for your heart.

This book is guaranteed to pull at your heart strings so even though it's a feel good and happy book have your tissues near by.
A woman's best friend fought so hard against the cancer but it sadly snuffed out her life in the end.
She doesn't want her best friend to be sad and think of her this way so she creates an itinerary of things for her to do for her as her last wish.
The friend is to go to her hometown of Tansy Falls and meet people she knew and do things that impacted her life. The story is of how meeting these people that used to know her best friend and going to these places changed not only her life but the citizen's of this small, feels like home town of Tansy Falls. We meet a lot of Tansy Falls citizens and they will make you feel right at home.

This is a truly fabulous read, a very different, moving story of friendship, loss, promises and finding yourself.

When her best friend loses her battle with cancer, Nell is shocked to be given a letter from her, the start of which is shared in the synopsis for the book . . .Penelope “Nell” Swift and Megan Shaw were the best of friends and when Megan lost her battle with cancer she leaves guidance for Nell to spend two weeks in Tansy Falls, with different things to do each day, places to visit, people to meet and the promise of a surprise at the end of the two weeks.

With great characters, beautiful scenery and different plans for every day, this is a heartwarming journey revisiting some of Megan’s favourite places and meeting people who knew her. It is an emotive read, a journey of discovery, an opening up of new possibilities, creating new dreams and friendships. It is a story filled with love but also one with mischief, lies, angst and turmoil. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and will definitely be looking out for further books in this series and by this author in future – such a superb read, I can’t recommend this highly enough!

This book is about a woman who loses her best friend but learns to live life by taking her ashes back to her home town in Vermont. Nell has just lost Adrian and now she loses Megan to cancer. Her world is shattered. Megan has left Nell a letter and a two week itinerary to take her home to Tansy Falls. As Nell follows every step she becomes involved in the small town and the people who knew and loved Megan. A story of growth and compassion and maybe a little romance. Sincerely hope this town can come back with another story so this one can continue. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was such a wonderfully, sweet, predictable story. As soon as you start reading this you know where it is going to end, but the journey was worth each page turned. The characters were down to earth, small town people.

Although it starts out with Megan's death ( Nell's best friend ), this is not a sad book. It does deal with Nell's grief, but in such a positive way. Cate Woods didn't gloss over the hardship when you loose someone - she showed how to work through it and how to honor someone.

This was a very positive book with the ending you want and expect. I will read another Care Woods book. She made me smile.

This is the most heartwarming romance book I have ever read. I love all the characters including Nell, Darlene, Jackson, etc. they made me want to be a part of the town of Tansy Falls, spend time with Nell as she completes her itinerary that her best friend put together before passing away. I haven’t been to Vermont yet but after reading this fantastic book it makes me want to hop on a plane, jump into a car, take a train, etc and travel there. Definitely recommend to all romance lovers, small town lovers, etc. Kudos to Cate Woods.

Losing your best friend is a kick in the teeth. Losing them, your relationship and your connection to the outside world because you work from home is what Nell is facing. And were it not for the quest set forth from her best friend Megan – I think Nell would still be stuck. But, with a quest, and several steps forcing Nell to take chances, step outside of her comfort zone and visit a place that Megan loved all her life – the story takes wings as Nell begins to heal from the worst of her grief by meeting those Nell knew and loved for all those years.

A city girl at heart, Nell had never experienced cold, snow or scenery like that of Tansy Falls: in the shadow of a mountain, true ski country, and in that in-between snow/mud season, she was wholly unprepared for the changes. And as a person who considers herself an introvert – speaking to those on the list, and then being the one to share Meg’s passing with them was notably difficult, even as she received warm welcomes from near everyone.

But with her fortnight in Vermont a done deal, she’s taking each task one day at a time: from meeting the owner of the General Store, to finding the covered bridge and locating somewhere to spread Meg’s ashes: each person Nell meets that knew Meg helps her to grieve a little less, understand her friend better, and feel more connected to the place that Meg hoped would help her find a new start.

Lovely reading – with moments that were both hopeful and bittersweet: Nell’s determination to follow through with Meg’s list: even when it was tough, allowed us to see her as a complete person finding her own way and forging new memories, even as she made new friends. Perhaps the life she had consigned herself to was not what was meant – and maybe Tansy Falls did work its magic on her. Read it and see – this was a lovely testament to friendship and moving forward.

This is a wonderfully pleasant read with a slight tinge of sadness. What do you do when your best friend of forever is dying and on her deathbed gives you a task. In fact, it is a series of tasks! You follow them right? I mean this is how much you love the person that you would go against all your fears and go to a whole different continent to follow their instructions.

This is the premise of The Inn at Tansy Falls. Nell follows her best friend Megan's letter to a T. All the rules, information, itinerary. She comes to Tansy Falls, a place her friend used to visit, meets people she once knew and many new ones and experiences a whole different world at this small town. As Nell embarks on this adventure, she forms new bonds and comes to care about people in a way she never did before, embracing a whole new beginning. At the end of this, Nell also just might find love and the kind of relationships with people she has always been looking for.

This is a well-written, sweet story that makes a simple evening all that more enjoyable. I loved reading about Nell, her determination is something that stood out to me. I also loved reading about some of the other women in this book, all of whom are strong characters and huge inspirations. I would definitely recommend this book for fans of Robyn Carr as Tansy Falls has it's own little charm just like that of Virgin River! Do visit and say hi to the dogs too!

This is my first book by the author and what a wonderful story overall. ​

I enjoyed her interaction with everyone, from the inner keeper to grumpy man that helps her out when in trouble. ​
As it’s a short stay , I couldn’t really feel the love story development but it definitely made for my imagination to run wild and hope for the best in the Nell’s future. ​

With a story where Megan wanted her ashes to be spread on the mountain in Tansy Falls, how could it not melt my heart?

With the prose giving me the itinerary of the list that Nell had to do while on Tansy Falls, how could I not smile through my tears?

With a book so beautifully posed where each word etched itself in my heart, how could I not fall in love with it?

With every scene showing me the beauty of the place and relationship between characters, all new yet felt like a best friend, how could I not feel happy?

With an author like Cade Woods, whose talent shone in her writing and emotions, how could I not rate it 5 stars?

With a publisher like Bookouture and friends like Sarah and Noelle giving me the best of books, do I really have to write a long review?

Just read the book. It brought me happiness, hugged me like an old friend, thawed my heart with its emotions, and left me with a smile long after I had finished it.

Nell Swift and Megan Shaw were best friends – they have met at the University and never looked back. Megan, who grew up in the US, found her place in England, she has married and had three children. But now she’s gone – having lost her fight against cancer. Before she died though, she has written a series of letters to Nell, sending her on a mission to scatter her ashes somewhere in her hometown of Tansy Falls, hoping that it will help Nell to come to terms with her death and get her out of her comfort zone. The letters also contain an itinerary with some challenges for Nell to follow. In theory – easy peasy, right? But will Nell manage on her own?

I absolutely loved the letters from Megan – even though she knew she was dying, she was able to make fun. There wasn’t any whingeing in them, they were straight to the point and I absolutely adored the fact that she – yes! – dared to use the fact of her dying to actually blackmail Nell a bit. Because Nell didn’t know what Megan knew – that she needs to change to environment, that she needs to open herself and leave her comfort zones. Megan hoped that this little town, where she spent her childhood, will help Nell to find her peace, her self – confidence, her luck. Yes, Nell was the quiet one, very well behaved, and I loved to see her letting her hair down, coming out of her shell with each new mission. I liked her – she was funny and clever and sarcastic and she rarely gave up. Her character growth was believable and realistic.

The setting of the story, Tansy Fall in Vermont in the USA, was absolutely gorgeous, the place had all the things that I so love: mountains, water, farms… Just a perfect place to live and the author has vividly brought it to life. Sha has also so well captured real nature of such a small town, where everyone knows everything about each other, where the long feuds are not forgotten and where people support each other because they had the place’s best interest at heart. There were the brilliant old generation Deb and Darlene, Meg’s friend Mallory helping Nell in her quests and also some rather handsome men showing interest in Nell… mmmm. All so well developed and full of humour, it was a joy to get to know them.

While some things took a lot of time and others felt much too rushed, while so many things happened so conveniently and others were a bit too predictable, there was such a feel – good factor to this story that all those things didn’t really bother me. It was an easy read (and it’s a compliment!), a great escape from the reality. The writing style is very approachable and readable and the story flows smoothly between past and present. The banter between the characters is quick and sharp.

“The Inn at Tansy Falls“ was a lovely, uplifting read with a bunch of great characters, a story about finding happiness and new beginnings. There was a lovely, sentimental feeling to it and it perfectly mixed humour with some sadness but the general feeling of hope and joy was all the time present. What’s even better, it’s the first book in the series and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us. Recommended!

Penelope "Nell" Swift and Megan Shaw were best friends. They met as freshman at University and never looked back. Megan grew up in the US, but ended up at University in England where she stayed. She met her husband, married and had three children and at the age of 37, she died of cancer. Megan's last wish was for Nell to scatter her ashes on Mount Maverick, the mountain where the small town of Tansy Falls holds special memories for Meg. The letter also contained an itinerary for Nell to follow during the two weeks she spends in Tansy Falls. Nell has not traveled and she is one who is very cautious in life, but she promised Meg, do she goes. That is all I will share about the plot of this story.

The story follows Nell as she is forced out of her comfort zone. I really liked Nell's character. There were parts of her personality that I definitely identified with. She is introverted, but due to situations in her life, she is also very self-conscious and down on herself. It was enjoyable watching her rediscover the old Nell, the one she was in university with Meg. The characters in Tansy Falls were just what I would expect for a small town story. You have the crochety older people, Darlene and Deb are a hoot, those who work at the Inn who are kind and helpful, Meg's old friend Mallory who wants to help Nell as much as she can and a couple of handsome men who have very different personalities. The characters are all well-developed, realistic, and relatable. Cate Woods has descriptive and beautiful writing and I could picture the setting. I loved the descriptions of Fiske's General store, the clutter, the dust and the welcoming nature. She also includes real life events that had me laughing, such as getting stuck in the mud, or drinking horrible coffee because you care about the person who made it. The Inn at Tansy Falls is a wonderfully uplifting story. There is friendship, community, love, new beginnings and a town that I want to visit someday (too bad it isn't real). I definitely recommend this delightful story and can't wait to see what is next for Nell

The Inn at Tansy Falls was such a fun and refreshing read. A book about friendship and second chances. I loved everything about the story and I know you will too!
Nell made her best friend a promise that after she died Nell would sprinkle her ashes in her favorite place, Tansy Falls. Megan has fond memories growing up in a small town with beautiful mountains, waterfalls, and the nicest people she considered family. Megan knows Nell has been struggling and this trip will hopefully bring her some peace. Nell has to spend two weeks at the Inn and each day she’s instructed to visit a place Megan loved. The trip will bring her closer to Megan and take her out of her comfort zone. With all it’s charm Tansy Falls will be the final resting place for Megan and a fresh start for Nell.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I needed something a bit lighter to read and this book ticked all the boxes.

Nell's best friend has just died from cancer, aged 39, and she sends her off to her home town of Tansy Falls to follow an itinerary that she has put together for her. Nell is unsure how this is all going to play out, after all, her life in London is very different to a sleepy town on the other side of the world, but she soon finds her feet.

The story is full of warm and interesting characters and I wanted to move to Tansy Falls myself! It had small town woven all the way through it and it made me think about what I would want people to know about my past, were I to discover my end was coming sooner than expected.

Nell's late friend Megan was clearly a wonderful person who everyone loved and going to all her favourite haunts was not easy for Nell on an emotional level, but it did open up her world and her heart was opened up too.

This book was romantic without being soppy. All the characters felt very authentic to me and I really wanted to continue reading about them! Looking forward to the next book set in this delightful town.

I just loved this book!!!! I don't have any other words to describe this wonderful gem of book--a heartwarming and a bit emotional book that will keep you hooked into the story from the first page itself!!!

Nell was devastated at the death of her best friend, Megan. But before dying, Megan has final wish--she wanted Nell to shatter her ashes in Mount Maverick, located in the small town called Tansy Falls in the state of Vermont. And she has written a letter to Nell--with requests that Nell must visit Tansy Falls and visit all the places Megan had visited during her teenage years. Nell decides to fulfill Megan's wishes by taking a flight from London and reaching Tansy Falls. And while staying at the inn, she makes new friends--Darlene who owns the Fiske store where Megan used to work, and meeting Mallory who was one of Megan's friends. And also she meets Jackson who is residing the house where Megan used to live with her aunt and uncle. As Nell develops close bonds and relationships, she is beginning to feel Tansy Falls as a part of her home...

I truly enjoyed reading the book. The first thing that I got attracted to this book was the cover--it was pretty and cozy looking. And I wasn't disappointed when the story was equally good as the book cover! The characters in the book are all likable and I had a fun time getting to know these characters. The settings and the descriptions of the town felt realistic and as a reader, I felt I was in Tansy Fall with Nell, setting out on an adventure of lifetime and making new friends. The ending was unexpected and really good that I cannot wait for the second book of this series to come out soon!
