This was such a fun debut novel! I honestly didn't even realize this was a debut, it certainly didn't feel like one. Domestic Suspense is very hit or miss for me, but this one was definitely a hit. I did guess some of the smaller twists but I still had to keep reading to figure out how everything played out. This is definitely a slow-burn, but the ending and multiple POVs make it all worth it.

It opens up with your usual domestic suspense; the perfect husband, perfect marriage, everything is perfect, until it isn't. Basically Helen's life was perfect until she met her new friend Rachel. Spoiler alert(not actually), Rachel is not at all who she says she is. This is the perfect book to remind you that not everyone is who they say they are. PLUS don't trust anyone🤣. Everyone in this book that Helen felt the closest too has a secret, but which one of them has the biggest? Who committed a crime? Who is the biggest liar? And can Helen trust any of them?

A great debut thriller by this author. Lots of twists that I did not anticipate. I love how much in detail this author goes into investigating the disappearance of one of the characters. I definitely recommend checking this one out!

Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner

Here is a brand new debut thriller out on January 25th! Surrounding a group of friends, siblings and a new mystery friend who just won’t take a hint. Helen and Serena are both pregnant with their first child. Helen has experienced multiple losses and is so nervous about this pregnancy. Beside them are their very unreliable husbands. Another point of view is Katie, a journalist covering a sexual assault hearing that is eerily similar to another case ten years ago.

I loved the idea of this one, and found the suspense and setting so creepy!

The first half was real slow though, I wish there was a bit more mystery or twists to keep my attention. I did like the last bit though and appreciated how thoroughly everything was explained.

Thanks to @netgalley and @gallerybooks for my advanced copy!

Lots of TW in this one as I mentioned: pregnancy loss, rape, infidelity.

What a read !

Greenwich Park has it all: secrets, lies, betrayal, quirky characters that include those we love and those love to despise.

Helen meets Rachel at prenatal classes . Helen is lonely and feeling sorry for herself as her husband Daniel , brother Rory and sister in law Serena, also expecting, have left her to fend for herself at class.

Helen is very vulnerable and takes Rachel at face value.

Let the games begin.

It gets messy but oh so good !

The reader knows all isn't what it should be with Rachel but no one else is even blinking>

The book is told from 3 different POV and it works very well.

Twists and turns, red herrings and an ending I did not predict. Can't get better than that.

Add Greenwich Park to your TBR pile and near the top. You won't regret it !

An amazing debut and I cant wait for the next book by Katherine Faulkner .

Thanks to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Canada, Gallery Books for a roller coaster of a read.

trigger warning: miscarriages are discussed, sentiments expressed relating to this.

Wow! This Kept me reading until the very last word. The end of each chapter left me wanting more. A little safe grouping of four, siblings, friends, couples … what a life, story and history they share, if they are willing to share it.

Secrets and lies never benefit anyone. The characters in this book will soon come to learn that.

Helen Thorpe is the protagonist, but she isn’t totally likeable. She is easily influenced and very naive to say the least. A woman named Rachel befriends her at a pre natal class and then wont leave Helen or her husband or their friends and family alone. Eventually Helen becomes suspicious of Rachel’s intentions especially when she finds some important missing items in Rachel’s possession, as well as wads of cash. What is Rachel after and who does she want to expose and why?

This is a twisty thriller told from several pints of view all having different interpretations of events. Some of it is predictable, some of it shocking. Overall, this is a well written debut. I did feel the book a bit long in spots.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a great domestic thriller. Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner follows Helen throughout her pregnancy when she meets Rachel at a prenatal class. Soon after Helen starts questioning how Rachel knows things she can’t remember telling her.

We also get the POV of Serena, Helens sister in law, and Katie the girlfriend of Helens brother. We also get a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes at Greenwich Park, and something that happened ten years before.

When Rachel goes missing after an argument with Helen, we see some strange behaviour.

Friends, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to shake some sense into Helen or feel sorry for her. With everything she’s been through, her husband, Daniel is the absolute worst. Serena, was also the worst kind of friend (her husband was just oblivious). Katie was a true gem, I was rooting for her to solve the disappearance of Rachel.

This was tied together nicely, and had some minor twists so what started out slow, I was kept on the edge of my seat until the very end, because everyone had a motive to want Rachel gone, and Katherine Faulkner keeps you guessing!

Overall, this was a great debut and I cannot wait to read more from Katherine Faulkner in the future !

★★★★.5

Not too shabby for Rachel! Until it is. Intriguing back story, Helen is overjoyed at finally being pregnant. Being a Mom has been her most fervent wish. That’s why she’s so disappointed when her husband and brother and sister in law (also conveniently pregnant) fail to show up at prenatal class. Enter Rachel a woman who befriends Helen from the start as she too is pregnant but there is no father in the picture. Rachel acts decidedly not like a mother to be what with her smoking and a few drinks after prenatal class. But you can see Helen although a bit dim doesn’t want to judge. Suddenly Helen finds she’s running into Rachel everywhere and things just become more and more over the top as the book moves along. There are some interesting back stories running behind the scenes at the same time which go a little way to help explain or help the reader possibly guess at what’s happening over at Greenwich Park. But even when Helen finds clues she still doesn’t ask the questions of what the heck is going on here? That’s where she loses me. But it’s a story. The author has allowed us to be irritated with the characters. Confusing and baffling, this book may entertain but it may also make you say what? You’ll decide whether the events are page turners.

Special thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC.

I’ve had to sit awhile and mull over this book....I found I could not put it down .....I had to process all that went on......if you want a book that keeps you guessing and has twists and turns this is it. The main character Helen is pregnant and meets anouther mom unexpectedly at labour and birth classes who befriends her. What seems like an innocent meet up turns out to be the unraveling of all characters involved in the storyline.
I enjoyed this thriller and look forward to seeing in future what this debut author writes. I would recommend this book to my book clubs and to my friends.

I received a free advance copy from NetGalley and all opinions are my own

Helen meets a young pregnant woman at her prenatal classes and isn't quite sure what to make of her, but eventually they end up running into each other a lot. Helen doesn't think to much about it but slowly she realizes she wants to help Rachel but things aren't adding up. When Rachel shows up on her doorstep with bruises around her throat, Helen welcomes her into her home where things take a strange turn.
The book slowly pulls you in until you can't wait to turn the pages to find out what happens next. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely being looking out for new books from this author. Expect lots of suspense.

An absolute gem of a book. You think you know your family and your loved ones but sometimes they keep the biggest secrets.

Helen lives in her gorgeous family home across from Greenwich Park with her husband Daniel. After several pregnancy losses, Helen becomes pregnant and she is ecstatic about it, but she is very lonely. Helen is off work early due to issues with her pregnancy, and her work friends have seem to have forgotten about her and her best friend Katie is busy with work. That leaves her brother Rory and his pregnant wife Serena for Helen to latch on too. Helen, Daniel, Rory and Serena were all to attend a prenatal class together but everyone bailed on Helen and she was left to attend on her own. Midway through her first birthing class a rather loud and obnoxious pregnant young woman enters the class. Her name is Rachel and it seems that Rachel has her sights set on being Helen’s new best friend. Helen is rather uncomfortable with Rachel but finally relents and starts spending time with her to alleviate her loneliness and get out of her house. What’s the harm thinks Helen? But what Helen does not know is that Rachel has a hidden agenda and will eventually destroy Helen’s life.

I absolutely loved this book. Katherine Faulkner weaves such a creative storyline and keeps the reader engaged trying to figure out what Rachel wants and who is involved.

This is a great debut for author Katherine Faulkner! In this thriller, Faulkner twists together the difficulties of pregnancy and motherhood with secrets kept from friends and family. Helen is the main character - who I felt myself liking less and less as the novel went on - who is befriended by a rebellious, single mother-to-be at a prenatal class. As the story slowly builds, Helen starts to notice strange things about her new friend, which leads her to question all of her close relationships.

Although I wasn't Helen's biggest fan, the novel features some interesting characters, a page-turning plot and a surprise ending, making for a satisfying thriller. Fans of The Girl on the Train and The Push would certainly be entertained by this one!

This was another bookstagram made me do it.

This was such a great book that kept me on the edge of my seat. I don’t think I really liked any of the characters except for maybe Katie but I couldn’t put this one down. Also the ending of this one was so good.

There was one thing that bothered me repetitively throughout this book and it was one of the main characters continuously calling their deceased parents mummy and daddy. I think it’s just a personal preference or rather dislike but I cringed every time.

Much applause for this debut novel! Would recommend this to everyone looking for a gripping domestic thriller.

Talk about tense, dark, engrossing and suspenseful! The twists just keep coming and do not stop until the brilliant ending. Told by a few different characters, the reader is tantalized by glimpses into the past as well as strange goings on in the present. Debut author Katherine Faulkner kept me on tenterhooks the entire time, practically in a state of agonized anxiety in the very best way.

Married couple Helen and Daniel are preparing for the arrival of their child, renovating a gorgeous house and buying wee baby things. Daniel is an architect with work pressures and Helen has been ordered to take things easy after having several heartbreaking miscarriages. Left alone much of the time, she finds some solace in her friends including her sister in law, Serena, who is expecting a baby at the same time. At the first local prenatal class she meets outlandish Rachel who notices she is alone (Daniel couldn't attend). They start running into each other regularly and form an uneasy relationship.

Meanwhile, the past comes back to haunt and taunt and everyone is on edge, especially those affected by a past crime. Secrets hang like thick curtains and the characters are entangled in messy problems. Most of the characters are unlikeable but I need not like a character to enjoy a great book. In fact, it is refreshing that they are not all drippy and saccharine. The ending, though!

Thriller fans truly ought to seek this one out, well worth your time.

My sincere thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada and NetGalley for the privilege of reading this scintillating book! Hopefully for us this is just the beginning of a long writing career by this fabulous author.

Greenwich Park follows Helen, who lives a very idyllic life. She has a handsome husband, a beautiful home, and is expecting her first baby. Then she meets unpredictable Rachel, another mother-to-be who seems uninterested in motherhood. Helen's friends and family meet Rachel and notice her odd behaviour too. And then one night after a party, she goes missing. What happened to Rachel?

I have to say, I loved this book. I really enjoyed reading it and was immediately engrossed in it. It was dark and full of twists. It was also very well written. We read mainly from the point of view of Helen, but get to see the book from some other perspectives, too. This book is a stand out because it really creates a web of stories that all come together. It's believable. It's intense. It keeps you guessing, and delivers some great surprises that I did not see coming. Often with thrillers, I find that I can guess the ending, or the events of the book are unpredictable. That was not the case here. I had many guesses as to what was going on, but was not able to figure out the entire plot, which I LOVE!

I felt that all the characters were well developed and enjoyed reading from their perspectives. This is one I will read again now that I know the ending because I truly enjoyed I genuinely don't have any criticism about this book and wouldn't change a thing!

This debut novel has all the qualities of a great thriller - suspense, unexpected twists and turns, and ureliable narrators. I read this in an afternoon and was hooked from page 1.

Helen is a naive and self-conscious wife to architect Daniel. She is pregnant after multiple loses, at the same time as her SIL Serena,. The two couples share a close relationship, but Helen always feels on the outside of Serena's inner circle. When ditched by her husnband, bother and SIL, Helen makes an unlikely friend at pre-natal class -- the unconventional and unpredictable Rachel. As their friendship grows, and Rachel installs herself in Helen's life, Helen begins to sense something is not quite as it seems. The search for Rachel uncovers dark secrets, betrayal and lies.

I enjoyed the writing and pacing overall, but felt the ending was more rushed than I would have wanted, While I always appreciate when authors wrap up pesky loose ends, I wished more of the answers could have been woven into the story instead of a letters and a final inner monologue.

Enjoyable read that I'd easily recommend to thriller fans looking for a page-turner.

Thanks to NetGalley, Gallery Books and Simon and Schuster Canada for the ARC.

THIS is a debut? I was completely blown away when I realized that “Greenwich Park” was Katherine Faulkner’s first novel. It’s full of pulse-pounding twists and turns and page-turning psychological suspense, reminiscent of “Girl on the Train” (yes I went there) or “Gone Girl” (yup, went there, too).
Helen and her architect husband, Daniel, are finally expecting their first child, after several rounds of miscarriages. When Helen meets a young, spirited girl named Rachel at a prenatal meeting, the two become fast friends. Soon, Rachel is everywhere Helen is; showing up at her favourite cafes, even running into Helen when she’s out with another friend for a lunch. When Rachel shows up on Helen’s doorstep, bruised and beaten, desperately asking Helen for a temporary place to stay, Helen is compelled to agree and lets the young women stay in her home (much to Daniel’s dismay). But after a party at Helen and Daniel’s, Rachel leaves, and the couple are pleasantly relieved to be able to focus on their upcoming child. When the police show up at their front door, claiming Rachel has been declared missing, Helen and Daniel are both suspects, and Helen is desperate to find out the truth about what happened to her young friend.
“Greenwich Park” immediately pulled me into the lives of its characters, and each one was as suspicious as the last. Helen and her husband, and all of their friends and family, were just innocent enough that it made all of them guilty. Faulkner completely made each and every one of her characters a possible suspect, in a completely effortless way. This is not something I expected from a first-time author, and I admire Faulkner for the easy, flowing format of her plot.
Each chapter is narrated by a main character (mostly Helen but we do hear from others). Just as I was getting pulled into the harrowing storyline of one, Faulkner left me hanging in suspense and moved swiftly and efficiently to another. When the ending came around, it was not completely unexpected and yet there were parts of it that did surprise me. Each and every loose end was tied up, and all of the characters received exactly what was coming to them!
If “Greenwich Park” is an example of what we can expect from Faulkner going forward, then we will be seeing more of her in the future, and I must say, I can’t wait!

Theny you to Net Galley and Kstherine Faulkner for giving me this opportunity to read this book. Now that the Christmas rush is over I was able to finish the book last night. What anexciting read!!!
There are 7 interwoven characters in the novel with Helen being the main one.
Helen is a married woman with a baby on the way. She and her husband Daniel live in the house she grew up in. Daniel is an architect and is having the house renovated. Helen is taking prenatal classes and meets up with a single mom-to-be Rachel. Rachel wends her way into Helen's life and ends up staying with her for a couple of weeks. What happened years ago that is being kept secret? Rachel goes missing or is it she just being herself and wandering from one place to another? Not until the end do you find out what actually happened to all of the characters and their relationship to one another. Will be looking forward to Katherine Faulkner's next novel. This one kept me guessing until the very end. Thank you so very much Net Galley and Katherine Faulker and Gallery Books.

This was a twisty debut British domestic suspense about the friendship between two pregnant women. Helen meets Rachel randomly at a prenatal class and forms an unexpected bond but Rachel is not who she seems. Sort of a slow start but full of twists and dark family secrets that kept me guessing to the end. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my review copies.
