Big thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for granting me free digital copies of the prequel and the first book in this series!
So, I definitely did not expect to enjoy these first two books as much as I did. I've read and seen many stories with their own twist to angels and anything and everything that that entails and this one is by far one of my favourites.
I loved the prequel. At first, you don't really know what's going on but as you keep on reading, things start to make more sense and everything starts to click together and at that point it was hard for me to put the book down.
I was impressed by the world building and just how vividly I could picture everything in my head based on the descriptions. I loved the plot, the writing was pretty pretty and complemented this type of story really well.
I grew pretty attached to the characters as well which is quite impressive based on how short the prequel was.
One of my favourite things about the prequel was the ending. It was pretty shocking and makes you want to continue on with the next book immediately.
And that is exactly what I did.
The way the first book started compared to the prequel was pretty jarring and it took me like 5 chapters to get used to it.
I overall liked how the story progressed and how everything started to finally make sense but I definitely had my gripes with it. One thing that annoyed me sometimes was the main character. At points, it felt like she had no backbone and just let her mother walk all over her and it was just frustrating to read about.
The ending was pretty great too and leaves you hanging just like the prequel does.
Suffice to say, I will definitely be continuing on with this series
This wasn’t the same as the story it’s meant to prequel, I actually saw a chance of something I’d really enjoy reading this, but sadly the following book does not follow at all. If this book had been expanded on into the main story would have been so much better
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Admittedly, this review is coming off my experience with the prequel, and that is that I really didn’t enjoy the as much as I wanted to.
I think also because the tv show, ‘Lucifer’, is such a smash hit, I think I was disappointed by the Lucifer in this book.
For me the story took too long to really take off. I often felt we were listening to Lucifer’s disgruntlement and resentment countless times and I just got bored.
I am impressed by this debut novel and the prequel, sent to me by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I love that the characters are very dynamic and morally grey. I love this book series already! It was refreshing to read about the hybrids, something I have not read yet because I am pretty new to the Supernatural/Paranormal world. I highly recommend you give this series a try.
This book had me crying . Starting the book. love it so far lost my page had to start again, I don't want the story to end Love this book can't put it down..
With thanks to Tatenda Creed and Epic Opus Press for an advanced readers copy of these books.
A thoroughly enjoyable and well written paranormal romance. Easy to read with intriguing characters, plenty of mystery, and a wonderfully well built and unique world.
I'm not normally a big PNR reader, but this one is a real page turner. One word of advice, don't skip the prequel, its really well developed back story that is crucial to having a well rounded reading experience.
I'm dying to know if two certain individuals end up together so I'll be continuing the series.
Book Review for The Lost Archangels
Full review for this title will be posted at: @cattleboobooks on Instagram!
I'm a simple girl - I see angels and I hit request.
What I really enjoyed most about this set of books is the originality and uniqueness of the world-building. It did take a while for me to get into the story and follow what was happening but, once I did, I became easily invested.
I think it's safe to say this series belongs on the TBR list of any paranormal lover.
