This was a lovely story recounting one woman’s path back to joy and happiness after tragedy. I loved the element of found family and romance as well.
I have been reading lots of chapter books about rescuing lost or abandoned dogs and cats to my animal-obsessed granddaughter. Sit! Stay! Speak! offered me the chance to read an adult-level book with a similar theme. At first glance I thought it was going to be a memoir. To my surprise it turned out to be a novel that read like a Lifetime movie. The author kept her readers guessing as to which characters were the bad guys. I also enjoyed reading about the local culture in the Delta area of Arkansas and was pleased to see that the author included quite a few recipes for the foods mentioned throughout the book. I am already planning to read more books from Annie England Noblin. Thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow for a copy to read and review.
A sweet story about a young woman leaves Chicago and travels to Arkansas after inheriting her aunt’s house. Addie soon discovers that Eunice, Arkansas has more to offer her than she ever thought possible. This was a quick read full of interesting characters.
Thank you to William Morrow and Custom House, NetGalley, and The Book Club Girls for the opportunity to read and review this book.
That was a cute book and highly entertaining. It flowed well and I enjoyed the pacing. It’s fun to have pets as part of the story and the characters also were enjoyable. All in all if you were looking for a fast fun Reed I would recommend this book.
A girl, a rescue dog, and a fish out of water in the south all combine to make a sweet story. Thank you to William Morrow and Custom House, NetGalley, and The Book Club Girls for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I love a good dog story but this one had me scratching my head trying to figure out how the cute puppy on the cover aged so quickly. This is a story about Addie who inherits a home in a small town in Arkansas. She rescues a dog, finds romance, and meets some memorable characters. It’s a cute read that was enjoyable but could have been better.
Who doesn't love a good romance that also includes a rescued pup? Except for the rescued pup, this story didn't cut it. The main character's actions were often childish. Also, if she had visited her aunt all those years ago, she should have known what a chiggar was, what grits were, etc. This was a brave attempt at humor that fell flat. Other elements of the story also did not add up.
A story about loss, friendship, secrets, and doing what's right. Fun read. The characters are relatable. You get a look at small town life in the south. Recipes included
I really like this book a lot Specially the title it says it all for the book What a interesting way of writing something and how this person comes down from Chicago tourer and house and she suffers tragedy but she tries to make a new life and she finds this dog Felix and how she rescued him and held his dog gave her perspective in life and how she has a friending windy who caught a help to 2 and then she meets this bomber Joseph and she kind of finds love again but there's a lot of plots and twist in this book And you find out how everything ties together and then this is Drug dealer name r R EDD his very evil person many tries to control the town and everybody's like In this is all revolves around dogfighting And get his justified at the end
I received an ARC of Sit! Stay! Speak! from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I loved it!! Yes, I am an animal lover and the story involves dogs but that wasn't my sole reason for enjoying it.
The main character, Addie Andrews, leaves her home in Chicago to move the Eunice, Arkansas to claim a home she inherited from her aunt. The timing of this move seems to work well for Addie because she needs a fresh start. Two years ago, she lost her finance and is hoping that this place, where she has positive childhood memories, can help her heal. What Addie didn't expect was to end up rescuing a puppy from near death. In Addie's attempt to find out what happened to this dog, we are introduced to a whole host of small town, well-developed characters.
Despite the book having a cute puppy on the cover, get ready for lots of page-turning intrigue and the exploration of some heavy topics such as love, loss, regret, second chances, animal abuse, drugs/criminal activity, etc.
Overall, this was such a pleasant romance to read. Addie comes back to the house that she inherited from her aunt. While there she is out and about and find a cute injured puppy. I really enjoyed the writing style of this as well as the relationships. I don't want to say to much to avoid spoilers, but I do recommend this!
Who doesn't love a book with a dog on the cover!? Addie has inherited a house from her Aunt Tilda in Arkansas. After losing her fiance Addie packs up and leaves Chicago to settle up her aunt's house. After Felix the puppy, Wanda the new friend, and Jasper the farmer, come into her life, Addie begins to heal. This book has a bit of romance/adventure/healing.
Thank you, NetGalley for the Arc.
I was never able to open this book. I downloaded it, but it would never open. I don't want to give this book a low rating as I have not read it, but Netgalley will require me to give it a star rating. It's unfortunate as it looks like a nice read.
Sit! Stay! Speak! By Annie England Noblin is a delightful romance read! Addie returns to the house she inherited from her aunt. On a walk she discovers an injured puppy which ends up being hers. A city girl who comes to the country. I loved Addie! She is funny and stands up for what she believes. There's a bit of intrigue, romance and friendships. I would recommend!
