Sometimes second chances work out even better than the first because you learn from your mistakes...
Second chance romances are always a delight to read. The Cabin in the Pines is bustling with the fast approaching wedding of the owner and his fiancé. Slater has been trying to make sure everything goes perfectly for them. Unfortunately that was not to be as a monkey wrench was thrown into the mix. Slater's ex-girlfriend Hope was co-ordinating a work conference for her father's company. Hope also works for her father. As luck would have it, they end up seeing each other and Slater experiences all the hurt feelings from years ago.
When Hope was younger, she had aspirations of pursuing her love for music. But these hopes were drowned when personal events occurred. She could not abandon her father. But this meant a loss in her life and not just music, but also Slater.
A beautiful story of friends and family working together as a whole. I love HEA's and this story definitely delivered.
this is a story of second chances. slater is to be his bosses best man, but he didn't count on his exgirlfriend being there. when they meet again they both wonder if they could have a second chance. sweet story
I enjoyed this book. It was a cute story about Slater and Hope reuniting by chance many years after breaking up in college. Cassidy Carter did a great job of providing background information about each of the main characters. I would recommend for anyone who wants a romantic book that does involve a happy ending.
A sweet, charming, delightful and emotional second-chance romance. Family issues. Work issues. An adorable dog and teenager. Beautiful surroundings. I can picture this as a Hallmark movie. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
Very cute, romantic novel! I've never read a book by Carter. But I just loved this book!
A book about family friends and love..... Is just what I needed!
Wedding in the Pines by Cassidy Carter
Publisher: Hallmark Publishing
Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Romance
Publication Date: May 4, 2021
Wedding in the Pines by Cassidy Carter is a sweet, standalone romance about second chances. It does include characters from "Love on Location" by the author, but isn't required reading to fall in love with this book. (I will be reading "Love on Location" very soon though! I just got a copy from Amazon yesterday!)
I absolutely loved this book! It is exactly what I needed from this Hallmark romance novel! It is heartwarming and made me smile. I loved the characters and the setting. The story was well paced and kept my attention. In fact, I didn't to stop reading!
I hope there will be more books with these characters because I would love to see how their lives turn out! (swoon!)
If you love Hallmark romances, then this book is for you!
I'm so grateful to Cassidy Carter, Hallmark Publishing, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first book by this author I've read. It was a cute, clean, romantic story which I appreciated. Hope and Slater had been college sweethearts and were even engaged. Both were music majors, enjoying singing and writing songs together. Suddenly when Hope's life took a different direction because of family commitments, she broke up with Slater which resulted in their lives taking totally different directions.
Having ending up with a degree in business, instead of music, years later, Hope has a prestigious position in her father's financial planning company. Slater had not only changed his major to engineering, but also changed schools. He currently was in management at an upscale resort property that specialized in executive retreats. What a surprise it was for Hope and Slater, after having no contact for seven years to encounter one another at the resort where he worked and where the annual financiall planning corporate retreat for their clients was being held.. Hope's focus that week was to keep their clients happy, ensure all the planned activities of the week ran smoothly and on time.
Slater has a commited group of friends that are family to him. They are in the midst of planning the wedding for two of the people in their group. As Slater and Hope are unexpectly thrown together during a busy week where they each have other important tasks to handle, at the same time they are reliving painful memories as well as the good times they had together.
This is a story of family, friendships and puling together to support each other as well as the value of forgiveness.

Ah just like a beautiful Hallmark movie come to life. Characters you fall in love with. Beautiful backdrop. My most favorite kind of books. Happy endings for all. It makes the heart feel so full

Wedding in the Pines is a perfect "beach read" for anyone who loves a sweet story with a Hallmark style happy ending.
Set at the same lakeside hotel as her 2019 book Love on Location, Cassidy Carter gives us a cast of characters who are both loveable and very human. Our leading couple, Hope and Slader, come with baggage with their broken off engagement and have to come to terms with a lot in order to find their way back to each other. The supporting cast, some of whom were major characters in Love on Location, are delightful and serve as wonderful sounding boards as the pair spend most of the book trying to figure out how to express their feelings.
My only complaint is that there were too many "It's fine, we can be around each other for a week" conversations for my taste. We were still having them more than halfway through the book and it really started to feel childish after a while. Other than that, I think this is a lovely Hallmark book and hopefully it will grace our channels as a movie soon!
Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for a ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!
This is a beautifully written second chance romance story. I loved everything about this book, the setting, the people and the sweet romance. You don't want to miss this book, it's a winner all the way! Thank you Hallmark Publishing via Netgalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
'Wedding in the Pines' is a delightful story of two people who are separated by challenges in their lives and the lives of their loved ones. Many years later their paths cross and there is an opportunity for redemptions. I just loved the thought processes and the growth of the characters, especially Hope's dad. That was especially meaningful and emotional for me. It seems I missed the first book in this series, but I hope to go back and read it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
This is a great romance story about two people who were in love in college and circumstances pulled the, apart. Ten years later a wedding and a week long seminar bring them back together and present them with a second chance to get it right.
Interesting family dynamics with a father who asks his daughter to put aside her plans and join the family business instead. The story explores how circumstances can change the course of our lives in ways that we never imagined and can also correct those paths.
I am a fan of anything Hallmark books and movies and this book, Wedding in the Pines hits everything perfect for a romance book.
Hope and Slater are meant to be together, but life just gets in the way and they go their separate ways.
A chance meeting sets all in motion for them to reconnect and rethink what they had in the past and what they could have in the future.
The setting, the romance, the friendship is all simply perfect. I like the characters in the book very much.
After reading Wedding in the Pines, you will be left feeling fulfilled to have been part of the story as you read it.
Thank you NetGalley, Cassidy Carter and Hallmark Publishing for the ARC of Wedding in the Pines.
You can definitely tell this love story was written with a script in mind, being published by Hallmark certainly gives Cassidy Carter a leg up on making a great movie special for the network.
I enjoyed the setting of this book, who doesn't love a rustic getaway? But I would not say there is anything overly special that stands out to make this book any more readable than others in the category for me. It was a quick read, which I always like. Book was very predictable. I didn't really feel any connections to any of the characters, maybe it's a sign I need a romance break!
Thank you Cassidy Carter, Hallmark Publishing, and NetGalley for this ARC!
I received this book for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley

Anything by Hallmark always has my vote something light but also so meaningful. Characters were very complex and their journey was beautiful.
Cassidy Carter builds a picturesque resort full of interesting and hard-working characters. It's a delightful tale of second chances available for both staff and guests. I would love to see a picture of the surprise replacement wedding cake as I am sure my imagination did not do it justice..
A bonus delicious, featured entree recipe is included.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
This is a cute book that would make a nice summer or fall-themed Hallmark movie. I kept feeling like I was missing some backstory, though, and am wondering if there was one I should have read prior to it.
Wedding in the Pines by Cassidy Carter is a wonderful, heartwarming, feel-good romance.
I always love a classic Hallmark romance, and this did not disappoint.
As always we have two main characters: Hope and Slater, separated by life’s crossroads and a blend of misunderstandings and external circumstances. After time has passed, both end up crossing paths again when Hope attends a conference at Cabins at the Pines, were Slater is working. Their reunion brings with it a host of memories, wishes, and a second look at not only their own positions in life, but also how they feel about one another.
I really enjoyed the progression and relationship between Slater and Hope. Both have their own concerns, pasts, and uncertainties, and are trying to figure out who they are and who they want to be. I really enjoyed how they complimented each other and were able to help one another start in a positive direction. I always like positive narratives and this one definitely fits the bill.
