I really wanted to like Between the Lines by Uli Beutter Cohen. I love the concept of understanding what Subway riders are reading during their travels and commutes, but I just could not get into the book and thought it had a better concept as a coffee table book or as an Instagram account than an actual book.

Between the Lines is from the Instagram account Subway Book Reviews. I've always enjoyed the Instagram account, but this book just kind of fell flat. It's more of a coffee table book for those that love books. Don't read in one sitting, savor it and read a couple of the stories daily instead.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC of Between the Lines.

Between The Lines is a collection of short conversations with NYC subway riders - some famous, most not - about what book they're currently reading. I've already added a few books to my To Read pile off the recommendations of a few straphangers . The best thing is that you can read this book the whole way through or skip around to what you think would interest you. Plus the conversations never outstay their welcome. Corny as it is to say, it's great subway reading.
