Middle grade magic with horses! What more could a reader ask for??
Wonderful characters you will fall in love with.
Great for adults and children alike.
A story the whole family will love reading or listening to together.
A fun magic twist on the middle grade horse book genre. Didn't realise it was a third, will probably go back and read the prior books for context. A bit reliant on plot armor to get around poor planning by the charaters.
As a reader of books, in a physical form or ebook I thought that I’d at least try the audio format of book. I found that an audiobook I can easily fall asleep while listening to and helps me to drift back to sleep and ideal for a sleepless and restless nights more equipped for times when I have ceaseless head chatter. The audio book is definitely easy to listen to while a passenger on a bus or working around the house. I have also found that I’m a series reader and begins at the first book to which I didn’t realise that this book is the final instalment. I have disappointed myself, as I found that I was missing certain information about the girls and how they magically connected they are when working together as a team and with their horses. I unfortunately found that I do prefer to read as with an audiobook I am unable to connect with the characters, the plot or envision the scenery or scenes as I can with a virtual book. Ideal book for any age who loves to read fantasy genre.

the book was fun and interesting.
engaging plot with good characters, even though i havent read the previous books i still cought up pretty fast with the plot.
honestly i would love to read and get to know more about the characters and grow with them as this is the last installment in the series.
the character devolpement, the plot and the side characters were just too much to love. you will be invested in their story, journey and way to save people.
the sassyness, the sad moments everything will hit you in proper places. moreover i also loved the voice actors.

My daughter and I listened to this book and she really enjoyed it. I didn't like it so much and kind of zoned out for most of this book, but I also understand that I'm not the target audience for this book.
Another perfect fit for those who are into the game “Star Stable.” As with all sagas, you’ll find adventures galore, missions to be fulfilled and great dangers to overcome. There will be suspense and thrills along the way as each character grows and develops, discovering things about their own abilities as the story progresses. Tension builds constantly and one threat after another challenges the characters’ strengths and weaknesses.
Characters are strong and well-developed, each moving closer to their own personal goals. Many things going on in this book. I would greatly suggest that the reader starts with the first book before tackling this one to understand the theme and story-line. I enjoyed the writing and can see this saga becoming popular with middle graders.
I had high hopes for this book despite not having read the first two books in the series because I like MG fantasy and horses, and it started out really well with interesting characters, magic, and monsters, then went steeply downhill when the girls decided to rescue the father of one of the team members with no plan. It is repeatedly talked about how this is a stupid idea, again and again, and the characters act like they are surprised at having no plan when they set out as if they hadn't had a whole discussion about what a bad idea it was to go in without a plan. I read loads of MG and I expect more common sense from MG characters.
I like to fool myself that I still enjoy children's stories, but that is just not the case.
This story remainded me of those Barbie cartoons that used to be so popular 20ish years ago, when I didn't start school and that stuff might have suited me.
Long story short, I can see how little girls can like this, but it just wasn't my thing.
Darkness falling is the third book in the series of Soul Riders about a group of 4 teen with powers to help others.
🌼 The book is filled with fun, adventure and action.
🌼 It was my first audiobook so it wasn't much interesting. But the storyline was very good. And also the narration was very well done.
🌼 The thing I liked most was the friendship and trust.
This is a review for NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
"This book & audiobook will be available on 6 of April 2021"
Darkness falling is the third book of a series called Soul Riders, they are a group of 4 teens with powers to help others, Anne, Lisa, Linda, and Alex and their horses (that give them the powers).
They try to warn people of something and no one believes them, they go on a journey to save them. Through a vision, they see that the dam will collapse, and kill the villagers. They have to do something to save them, but that's just the start of something far worse. A book packed with adventure and battles.
This children's fiction story, was very heartwarming showing a true friendship a journey to build up their trust in each other and in themselves in their own power. I can see this series being very loved.
This was also very well narrated by Jennifer Jill Arya, the distinct difference between characters and situations was very well done and pleasant to listen along
