I am reading a copy of Before-Jared’s story through Forlorn a d Netgalley:



Before meeting Grace Jared had lived several lifetimes of heartbreak, struggle, loneliness, and sometimes joy. His Father had tried to kill him, and he had been shunned by his family for an original sin he did not truly understand until he came face to face with true evil and discovered the demon within himself.





Jared was born in the mid nineteenth century to a family of itinerant circus performers. He didn’t understand why why his parents were ashamed of him and tried to hide him from the world. Over the years Jared discovered discovered more disturbing things about himself, he had an unusual strength, he healed at a remarkable speed, and the “shadow people” who whispered dark and terrible things in his ear. The only thing that seemed to subdue their wicked urgings was music, and the love of his Mother, the only person all really seemed to love him.





It wasn’t long before Jared came to realize that he was a danger to the world, and it would be better if he left it alone. But it seemed the more he tried the more he was drawn into a whirlwind of darkness and evil from which he couldn’t escape.
