This book is full of cute simple cross stitch patterns. Lots of small projects for a beginner. I especially liked the alphabets included. The color choices are mellow but the stitcher can make adjustments for a brighter palette. Thank you to NetGalley for the copy for review.

Really nice little pattern book. The designs are simple enough for a beginner, but you could also build on them for a more complicated design. The alphabets are especially useful.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I wanted to like this book. I am just getting into cross stitching, and I was mostly lost throughout this book. I don't know if that is maybe just the Kindle format of this book. I think this might be geared towards more advanced cross stitchers who know how to read patterns and have some techniques under their belt.

I did like the overall theme of inspiration though.

This book is really hard to rate with stars given the circumstances. So I am going to give it 3 stars for now.

I received an eARC from Rowman and Littlefield through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

A lovely collection of cross stitch projects! The idea behind the theme of the book is the therapeutic benefits of doing cross stitch, and the sense of peace and well-being it brings. Each project has an inspirational saying accompanied by a sweet design using a soft pastel color palette, grouped by theme: inspire, create, and connect. The book includes basic instructions for getting started at the beginning, and each project has clear, easy to follow instructions for completing. I especially enjoyed the section at the back of the book with suggestions on how to adapt patterns or create your own, with a few different alphabets included to help out. This book is easy and clear enough for beginners, and the patterns are sweet and easily adaptable to a variety of projects, and pleasing to any level of stitcher.

I received this gem as a NetGallery review copy.

So many darling patterns in pretty, soft pastels. The charts are exactly what I prefer; both in color and with symbols. These are going to be quick stitches with mostly full cross stitches with a few French knots, petite stitches and some back stitching to add interest. I appreciate being given the measurement for the least amount of fabric needed. That avoids a mistake of cutting fabric to the design size without room to finish a project. The pictures are lovely and big enough to know what you are going to stitch, not just a little thumbnail. There are some brief finishing techniques.

I love the book and hope it's available in a Kindle version. I find it easier to work from my 10" Kindle so I have the option of zooming in.

SO CUTEEE.

I am obsessed--these patterns are perfect for a cottagecore grandma (aka me, about to make half the things in this book). I cannot get over just how cute everything is--the patterns, the color schemes, the objects. I will definitely be looking to buy and gift this book in the future.

A book full of cute, quick cross stitch patterns.

This book has cross stitch patterns for a variety of quick projects, such as pouches, wall hangings, and ornaments. All the patterns have positive messages on them that are designed to help uplift you and add a bit of cheer to your home. They follow a pastel color palette and many have small motif designs added to the words. Plus, there are alphabets charted at the end so you can make your own word-related cross stitch projects.

Overall, the designs are cute and remind me of many of the projects my mom did for me when I was a child (I think it's that 80s and early 90s vibes). Personally, I don't feel like that's my style currently, but I could see the appeal for many people. The charts are easy-to-follow and the patterns are quick and most beginners would be able to complete them without issue. The size means that these would be good projects for giving as gifts, doing between large projects for a break, or because you don't have a lot of time to stitch.

This is a fun book that I feel is perfect as a beginners counted cross stitch book.

There are are plenty of short projects that could be completed within a few days thst are simple enough not to be overwhelming for someone new.

This keeps it more approachable and fun for a beginner. I would have liked a little more variety in the range of patterns everything is in a cutesy feel good layout that seems a bit old fashioned.

However, these are in a more easily completed whimsical type feel that I could see being a good option for a younger person who wants to try cross stitching.

A nice beginner counted cross stitch book. I appreciated that the emphasis was on short projects that could be completed within a few days, as that seems more approachable and fun for a beginner. The style of projects was a little too sweet for my personal aesthetic, but I could easily see this being a good option for a young girl who wanted to try out a new hobby.

Cross-stitch is something that my maternal grandmother taught me back when I was much younger and I have never forgotten it. There have been periods where I would do cross-stitch all the time and periods where the materials were simply waiting for me to pick them up again. I have used cross-stitch to create beautiful hand-made gifts for my friends and that would not have been possible without my grandmother.
This book reminds me of the ones that my grandmother used to teach me about cross-stitch and the patterns are simple, fun and can be finished in a variety of different ways. The author themselves mentioned that the colors in the patterns can be swapped and changed depending on personal preference. Another thing that I liked about the book is that the author goes through a few different ways that each project can be finished and displayed and the book actually goes through each option and talks though how to do it. The book also talks about the different ways that each project can be finished depending on what the sewer wants.
I absolutely recommend this book both for beginners and for people familiar with cross-stitch. The patterns are simple, easily customizable and can be adjusted to the sewers comfort level.

My school library typically doesn’t order adult books. However, I am a crafter. I was intrigued by the description, but the designs just aren’t my style to stitch. Although the book’s information is appropriate for confident beginners who have some familiarity with cross stitch and color charts always help with stitching. An additional purchase for nonfiction adult collections but not a must have.

This is a combination of cross stitch designs and inspiration, with patterns and articles relating to courage, self-esteem, peace, serenity, and joy.
The book begins with a basic primer on stitching, then segues into the above listed chapters. Each chapter begins with encouraging words and self-affirmations relating to the topic. Also included is a color picture of the completed design.
Most of the designs have words to stitch. The designs are attractive, yet simple.
At the end of the book is a nice chart of different styles for stitching the alphabet.
I was disappointed to see that the patterns do not include backstitching in the directions nor the finished pieces. Backstitching helps to define and sharpen the images. Otherwise, I found the designs to be attractive.

I received this e-book ARC of Inspired Cross-Stitch by Gail Bussi through Net Galley from Stackpole Books in exchange for a truthful review.

Cross stitch patterns with loads of background explanations of the meaning behind the sentiments.
The patterns all included feel-good sayings lettered into the patterns. Cute patterns!
I'm used to doing cross-stitch with almost no lettering and a bit more modern, so I thought this would be an interesting change of pace to review.
I had some formatting issues with the layout/understanding the pattern/pattern legends using my Kindle app [was only seeing symbols and no color], but switching to use Adobe Digital Editions was much better to see the full patterns and in color. Much easier to follow!

I love the cross stitch patterns in this book, they are very inspired and adorable. If you love to cross stitch or embroider, you should pick up this book and give it a try. This is such a fun hobby

The tone of this book and photos of the stitched patterns are upbeat, sweet, and cute. Beginning and mid-level cross stitchers will find much to like here. The projects include clear making-up explanations, and hobbyists who come to cross stitch to find joy in this pastime will be an excellent audience for this book. The patterns themselves are not reproduced in the e-galley, and thus it isn't possible to speak to ease of use, layout of design, appropriateness of symbol choice, etc. Rating is given for the material around the actual projects. The text and photos, though, are charming.
