This book was so much fun! I love Libby Klein's humor, and it had me laughing out loud. The plot has so many twists, and I had so much fun trying to discover who the murderer was. I highly recommend this one!

I love these mysteries. Poppy is always getting herself into trouble trying to help people when they ask. I never know who done it until the book ends. Read this to see what transpires at the Beauty Expo. also does Poppy pick Tim or Gia she has been stringing both of them along. She does make a decision. A GOOD cozy mystery READ.

Reading 'Beauty Expos are Murder' was like riding the most thrilling roller coaster from start to finish. Gia's shocking revelation in the previous book that he is married was immediately addressed (and complicated by his wife) from page one. A murder at the Beauty Expo that Poppy is providing food to adds another layer of suspense to Poppy's life. All this angst is balanced with the greatest of humor with Aunt Ginny and her cronies. I love the sweet relationship that Poppy has with Gia's sweet son Henry. All in all I love this quirky series and highly recommend it to all.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Poppy McAllister runs a B&B and also has a business baking gluten-free treats. She decides to sell her baked goods at a beauty expo coming to her hometown of Cape May, New Jersey. Plans go awry when the headlining doctor, a famous plastic surgeon to celebrities, is murdered at the event. Dr. Lance Rubin had been sued for malpractice multiple times, and an angry former client is trying to sabotage his appearance at the expo. But would she resort to murder?

I enjoyed that storyline, but I had a few issues with this novel. First, it's very long for a cozy mystery. Since I had a Kindle edition, I definitely didn't realize it has more than 450 pages until it seemed like it was taking me forever to read it and I looked up the page count. Second, I had an issue with the names of the two main characters. Poppy is named after the flower, but I kept thinking of it as a nickname for a grandfather. Also, Poppy's boyfriend is Gia (short for the Italian name Giampaolo, I believe), but to me "Gia" is the name of a woman so there was a lot of confusion throughout the story when I kept thinking Gia was a female.

My biggest issue with the story is just how much was going on. There were so many mysteries happening at the same time - who is shooting the Easter decoration? Why is a cop being framed? Who killed a young man trying to get his life straightened out? Who stole the beauty samples? Who are the weird women staying at the B&B? Why is Gia married already and why didn't he tell Poppy? Is Gia involved in the Mafia? I feel like the issue about Gia's past relationship could have been an entire novel by itself. There was too much going on for me, and I really think this could have been broken into two separate novels.

BEAUTY EXPOS ARE MURDER, the sixth book in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series by Libby Klein, is the best so far! Actually, from the very first Ms. Klein has penned laugh-out-loud cozy mysteries with memorable and endearing characters. With each new book released, the stories keep getting better and better and I’m definitely hooked. Book five ended with a non-mystery cliffhanger and I was relieved to find book six picks up right where it left off. The protagonist, Poppy, is back to juggling the B & B she runs with her zany Aunt Ginny, along with her baking business creating delicious paleo treats for her love interest’s shop, and providing baked goodies at the huge Beauty expo happening in their town. There is non-stop action and antics, especially when Aunt Ginny comes onto the scene and lucky for the reader, she frequents the pages. Poppy also has a tongue-in-cheek snarky humor which comes in handy when dealing with not only her aunt and her mischievous cat, Figaro, but those who would like to make her life difficult.

While the characters might be what draws me to this series, Ms. Klein pens a sharp plot that hits all the marks for creating a puzzling murder with subtle clues to keep the reader on their toes. She’s written a most unusual method for murder and I applaud her creativity! As Poppy investigates alongside her longtime high school nemeses (another terrific plot addition) she does so with methodical thoughtfulness despite the antics that keeps the story lighthearted. As she narrowed in on the suspects, I was thrown off course by the twists introduced. The author’s attention to detail ensures the reader a highly satisfying ending with no dangling threads left unanswered… except for wondering when the next book will be released!

With Poppy baking so many treats, the reader will be drooling over the descriptions. Ms. Klein provides several delectable paleo recipes at the back of the book.

"Beauty Expos Are Murder" is the 6th instalment in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series by Libby Klein. I love this series and I think this was best one yet! I love visiting the Jersey Shore and Poppy, Sawyer, Aunt Ginny, and the "Biddies"! Plus we cant forget about her mischievous cat, Figuro!

This time around we are at a Beauty Expo and Poppy is still struggling from revelations that Gia is married. From meddling wives to vandalism Poppy has her work cut out for her this go around. At the B&B - Portia, a champion show kitty joins in the chaos and captures Figuro’s heart.

I found the mystery was well written and paced with lots of twists and turns. It kept me guessing to the end. I can’t wait till the next instalment comes out and finding out what Poppy does next!

I recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Kensington Books and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Poppy McAllister has made her decision between Gia and Tim and things are not great. Telling Gia that she wants to be with him is complicated by finding out that he's married when his wife shows up! But trusting Gia when he says that he has been trying to get a divorce, Poppy goes to Tim to tell him that she has chosen Gia. Tim is not happy and forces Poppy to leave his restaurant and fires her as his baker.

Poppy and Gia have a booth at the Beauty Expo serving their gluten goodies and coffee specialties. When Poppy sees that Tim and his new girlfriend have set up a competing booth, she realizes how hurt Tim was. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Lance Rubin is also at the Expo touting his new procedures that will supposedly turn out to be a fountain of youth. But he's also a womanizer and has been trying to get Poppy to come for a "special" treatment. Coming to Dr. Rubin's procedure area with his coffee order, Poppy finds him dead on this exam table.

Who did this? why? The mystery is carefully woven throughout along with Poppy's troubles with Gia and Tim. And of course, Aunt Ginny has to get in the mix. This is one of my favorite series and I look forward to seeing Poppy realize the happiness she deserves.

I started this series because it was set in one of my favorite vacation spots, but I keep reading because I adore the characters. This was the best one yet! I am so glad she picked Gia!!!

Review Another fun installment in the Poppy McAllister series. Along with the continued hijinks of Aunt Ginny and the biddies, we get to go along as Poppy spends her time at the beauty expo, where everyone is looking for the newest miracle-working treatments and enhancements. The bed and breakfast once again has interesting guests, and Figaro couldn’t be happier with one of them. I always look forward to the next installment in this series. Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for allowing me to give my honest opinion.

Poppy has a lot of drama in her life, Gia’s wife (?!?!) arrives on the scene, a dead body shows up at the beauty expo, and Amber reveals that she’s suspect number one for the murder of a teenaged CI. Meanwhile, Aunt Ginny and her friends are causing their usual ruckus all over town.

I really like Poppy, she’s down but not out. She’s classy and doesn’t let things bring her down. She’s got tons of challenges but she’s still a good friend, a great business person, and a classy person in general. We see Amber again, and Joanne, we also meet some new guests at the B & B and their escape-artist cat, Portia. Aunt Ginny is probably one of my favorite cozy characters, she reminds me of Vivian Borne from the Trash ‘N’ Treasures series.

The mystery was pretty interesting, there are a lot of different things going on, none of which seem to be related. I figured from the beginning that there had to be some relationship between the various things that were happening. I’ll let everyone find out for themselves if I was right.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cozy mysteries. Libby Klein knows how to set a scene, create a character, make you feel like you’re right there next to them solving crime. Settle in for the day or night and read this fantastic page turner.

There are few authors whose books make the reader feel at home as soon as they begin reading and Libby Klein is one of them. Just like the first 5 books in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series, Beauty Expos are Murder gave me that, this is were I am supposed to be feeling.
While Libby Klein does use some cozy mystery tropes, her books never fall into the same-old, same-old mold that too many others do. Other than knowing that someone will die, that the bittys will leave me laughing, and that Poppy will triumph, I never know what to expect of a Poppy McAllister mystery and I love that!
Poppy has made her decision between the two men who have declared their love only to discover that Gia is not free to make a commitment. The path from that first moment of shock to the delightful resolution is full of twist and turns, laughter and insecurity (and a few tears) for Poppy and for the reader. Oh what a wonderful journey it is.

Ok, I'll say it - Poppy McAllister is my spirit animal. I adore her and her crazy, quirky friends and family, and anxiously await each new installment with bated breath. After author Libby Klein left her readers with quite the shocking cliffhanger at the end of Wine Tastings Are Murder, the publisher couldn't release Beauty Expos Are Murder fast enough for this reader - and it did not disappoint! The mystery was top notch, and we were able to discover more about Gia's (the dreamy barista with a soft spot for Poppy) family, and they do their best to rival Poppy's peeps! Lots of fun in this laugh out loud cozy mystery, Libby Klein's books are always recommend by me, and this latest installment is just one of the many reasons why! A+++ to Libby Klein and Poppy McAllister!

Author Libby Klein is in her own lane with the originality of her plots and her flair for writing snarky dialogue for her plus-size main character, Poppy McAlister, pastry chef extraordinaire. Book Six begins where the previous story ended leaving Poppy’s feelings hurt and bewildered at Gia’s betrayal. This story is an amusing battle of willpower between Poppy and Alexandra, Gia’s ‘wife’.

As Gia attempts to soothe Poppy’s fears with love and positivity, the two prepare their booth at the Spring Into Beauty Expo where they sell coffee and Paleo baked goods. Someone is out to sabotage the vendor booths, and there’s a fast-growing list of suspects after a gruesome murder is discovered by poor Poppy.

I love how the author builds this story and connects all the little pieces that make it so intricate and interesting. I try to read slowly so I won’t miss anything! It’s really hard to tell who’s guilty of what crime, and there’s constant action! Aunt Ginny is in fine form and her geriatric friends are hilariously funny in all they get into! Poppy’s cat, Figaro, is in fine form, too; teaching Portia, a champion show kitty visiting the bed and breakfast, how to be naughty and live it up behind her owners backs! LOL! I found many surprise twists packed into the story, and many laugh-out-loud moments between the pages of this fantastic novel! As misunderstandings are cleared up; the story wraps up with a soothing ending. Delicious recipes are provided for readers enjoyment. I HIGHLY recommend this series beginning with book one.

I honestly reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. All opinions are my own. Thank you.

Poppy and gang are challenged in many ways in this busy edition/segment of her life--- and we get to view it all. Set in Cape May in South Jersey, Poppy has signed up for a booth at the Beauty Expo and gets far more than she bargained for. Gia has a crushing secret come to light that knocks Poppy for a loop. Tim also throws a rope into Poppy's ring , one that causes more tangles during the event. There is a murder, and drama between other characters we have come to love. There are many laugh out loud zany moments in this one.
Poppy is a gluten-free baker and we are fortunate to get some of her recipes at the end of the book: Poppy’s Chicken Salad--I made this and it is great!
Gluten-Free Hot Cross Buns
Gluten-Free Chocolate Loaf--I made this and it was also very good
Cherry Mascarpone Filling
Gluten-Free Cream Tea Scones
Joanne’s Extreme Vanilla and Raspberry Rose Petits Fours.
Thank you to Libby Klein, NetGalley, and Kensington for the ARC that I requested and received. I review books that I enjoy so others can ,too.

I have one word for this book, “wow!”
This is the sixth book in this series and it is my favourite so far.
The story grabbed me from the get go, and didn’t let go. I could not put it down. The whodunit had twists and turns that kept me guessing.
Poppy is a realistic, contemporary woman, who I really enjoy reading about.
All in all, this book was a delight to read and a great continuation to this series.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is one of my top 5 favorite series. This installment didn't disappoint! I hadn't seen the twist coming but I loved how it was written. Can't wait to follow along with Poppy, Gia, and Granny for years to come.

Beauty Expos are Murder is the sixth book in the series-I have only read this one and the one before it and I think the author does a good job with the backstory. The last book ended up with a cliffhanger when it came to Poppy's love life and that line is woven through this book as well as the primary story of the murder.

This installment of the series had a lot of things going on and while some were humorous it made for a lot of unrelated activity.

That said, the book was engrossing. The murderer was not an obvious one but it seemed a bit implausible to me.

That said I like Poppy and the other characters in this world and they make the visit an enjoyable one.

I received an ARC and have provided an honest review.
