Alexa Aston has done it again with the Duke of Disrepute! He is disreputable, she is a widow, together they will find each other a mate. This story is the third book in the Dukes of Distinction Series but it can be read as a stand-alone. The characters are personable and in-depth, while being witty you can still feel their angst. You can't help but enjoy this story. It is a tender love story and an upbeat story of hope. I would recommend this story as well as the other stories in the series.

Weston is ready to break all his rules!

Weston is rethinking his life choices after seeing his sister fall in love with his best friend. It's time to let go of past influences and make plans for his future. After rescuing Elise and her young daughter from a carriage accident, he's sure he's found his future duchess.

Elise turned away from the Duke of Disrepute after one dance years ago, and she's not ready to believe he's a changed man now. I loved how sensitive and gentle she was, despite the harsh hand she's been dealt, and I especially loved watching her with her young nephews. She needs time to come into her own, and I was so glad to see Weston taking his time, giving her the space she needed to find her confidence and sense of purpose.

This is a slow-burn romance that starts as friends, with a little drama at the end. The HEA was very satisfying, giving us glimpses of dreams come true several years later. I loved reading this book, and will definitely be continuing the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is Book Three in the Dukes of Distinction series. I was thrilled that we also got to see the Duke of Charm and the Duke of Renown, with their wives, again.

Weston was such a delicious hero. He sees how happy his friends are in marriage and the former rake wants domestic bliss for himself. I enjoyed that the hero immediately knows he wants a woman, and is willing to do anything to have her, even if he knows he has to go slow so as to not spook her. The way he loved Elise's daughter Claire was an unexpected heart warmer.

I will say that I would reach a telephone book is Alexa Aston wrote it. This was a lower steam level than I expected, but Alexa has a way about writing emotional connections that is truly a gift to the reader. I found myself smiling throughout the book. I do wish that we had seen Weston explain to Elise his past with Juniper and how he became the Duke of Disrepute and was sad that conversation did not take place but I did thoroughly enjoy Weston and Elise's story.

Lady Elise Ruthersby is with child when her husband is killed, and the family awaits the birth to see who will be the new earl. A son arrives but dies shortly afterwards, relegating Elise to the status of a servant as she becomes the unpaid governess to her two nephews. But she will do whatever she has to to keep her daughter safe. Weston Wallace, the Duke of Treadwell, learns a devastating secret about his fiancée the night before their wedding, causing him to break their engagement. He becomes London’s most notorious rake, with a rule that he only beds a woman once. Elise and her daughter travel to see her parents who are both dying & on the return journey they are trapped in a broken down carriage when it is struck by a flaming tree in a perilous storm, Weston rescues the pair. Years of cynicism fall to the wayside as he becomes captivated by the beautiful widow and her enchanting daughter. Weston decides he must marry the woman who has thawed his cold heart without scaring her away because of his vile reputation. The two strike a bargain where Elise will help Weston navigate the Marriage Mart during the upcoming Season if he will help her find a husband. Little does the unsuspecting widow know that London’s most infamous womaniser has already decided who his duchess will be.
This is the third book in this wonderful series & once again I read it in a sitting, finishing it at almost 4am. I found it to be a very well written lovely romance with wonderful characters. I loved Weston & how he turned his life around. Elise was the put upon young dowager countess who blossomed throughout the book. The chemistry between the pair was electric but it was their verbal bantering which I adored. Whilst this book could easily be read on its own I loved how it tied in with the earlier books
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

This is the first time reading a romance from this author. All started well as the storyline sounded promising but it fizzled quickly when, despite all the hardships the main characters faced, any angst that one would think they would encounter was always rectified within a few paragraphs (oftentimes less). What wasn't glossed over was saccharinely sweet. There was too much lost potential for me to enjoy this.

One of the sweetest stories I have read in a long time. The Duke of Disrepute is no longer. He is such a lovely character, someone we all wish we could marry. Weston and Elise’s friendship blossoms and moves into love. Claire is way too cute also. Alexa really knows how to pull us into a story and keep us there for the long haul. This is a very different story in that Weston knows that he wants Elise as his wife but she is unaware. It is a bit funny in that she is clueless but it makes for a great story.

Throughout this whole book I just couldn't stop smiling.

I truly enjoyed Weston as the Hero of this book, he had great development throughout. While it was a woman that pushed him into his rakish lifestyle, properly earning him the title of Duke of Disrepute, this man did not need a woman to tame him or make him realize what he really wanted in life and he needed no help to see that his womanizing ways won't actually fulfill him. I liked that take on the reformed rake trope a lot and how Weston was so sure about what he wants in live and how to go after it. And damn, that man was smooth and so very charming!

Which leads me to the romance ... of which I liked every single moment of.
Elise and Weston were just incredibly well matched! Their arrangement made for fun moments and cute pining, their first kiss was everything and have I mentioned how smooth and charming Weston was in his romancing? Yes? Well, it has to be said again because he did is so well!

Weston also did a great job getting to know Elise's little daughter, Claire, proving himself great dad material and the openness to be the father to this other man's child. I also really enjoyed that Elise developed friendships with all the ladies in the lives of the Dukes, she had some horrible women in her life so far and so these new connections were a nice balance for her.

This was definitely one of the better rogue to redemption. Once the soul searching was over for Weston it was clear he wanted a different path. But Elise was not sure it was the one she was on. Change and trust are both hard to come by. Well worth the time.
